PoE 3.30 Builds Tier List - Best League Starters & Endgame Builds (Trade & SSF)

Finally, we have the official release date for Path of Exile 3.30: November 13, landing only one week after ExileCon. Planning time is short, it is time to log back into the game to prepare a new build for the upcoming league! To help you get a good ahead idea, here we are going to sort out the new PoE 3.30 Build Tier List to update the best league starter builds you can take a try for league leveling and then go through to endgame; we will cover the meta builds for Trade and SSF mode!

PoE 3.30 Build Tier List - Best League Starters & Endgame Builds (Trade & SSF)

The patch notes are not out yet, and the league mechanic will only be revealed during the ExileCon keynote, so nobody can promise a final meta right now. What we can do is look at what carried players through 3.29 (Curse of the Old Flame / Allflame league), check which archetypes have survived multiple patches without falling apart, and build an early shortlist of candidates for both Trade and SSF. This guide is that shortlist. It will be updated as teasers, patch notes, and the first days of the league give us real data.

What We Know About the PoE 3.30 Update So Far

Grinding Gear Games confirmed 3.30 one week after ExileCon 2026, which runs on November 7 and 8 NZT (the livestream starts at 12PM PST on November 6, with the keynote at 1PM PST). A few points from the official forum post, the Ziz interview with Octavian, and community discussion give us the broad outline:

  • Release date: November 13. GGG picked this over November 20 to avoid clashing with GTA 6 on console, and all later dates were ruled out because Path of Exile 2 1.0 arrives on December 11.

  • Endgame rework: Octavian stated that major overhauls are coming to how the endgame and mapping are set up. Scarabs were named specifically as a system that needs a refresh, and GGG talked about leagues interacting with each other organically without needing scarabs for it.

  • League mechanic refresh: Older mechanics may be touched, since the team said the endgame has gotten stale and they want every endgame mechanic to feel better.

  • Loot: Tile versus ground loot was discussed, but nothing was committed.

  • Speculation: Community members are hoping Mirage returns, which would bring back the Screams of the Desiccated shrine belt. Treat this as a rumor until the keynote.

  • 3.29 deadline: Curse of the Old Flame challenges close on November 9 for most regions (November 10 at 8:00 a.m. in New Zealand time).

Plan Now, Skip the Waiting Game

Sitting on your hands until patch notes drop is the usual advice. It is also unnecessary. Pick three to five candidates you would enjoy, then check them against the notes when the notes arrive. You will have more free time now than in the final week. That covers the calendar. The next question is what to actually play, and with 3.30 still unreleased, the most dependable ground is the 3.29 meta.

Because the biggest changes target the Atlas rather than skills, build selection should favor archetypes that are flexible about which content they farm. With that context in place, let's move to the builds themselves, starting with the Trade league list. Everything below was tested last league, which makes it the honest starting point for a 3.30 shortlist.

PoE 3.30 Best Builds for League Starter & Endgame (Trade Mode)

Trade league hands you access to every item in the game, which changes the math. Trade league rewards builds that get to red maps quickly, farm a strategy reliably, and either keep scaling or hand off currency to a second character. The picks below are grouped by role, with a short note on how far each one went in 3.29.

S-Tier: Builds That Defined 3.29

1. Luminary Flame Link Mercenary (Scion)
Several players called this the build of the league, and one even described it as possibly the most broken build PoE has ever seen for zero-button play. You level Scion with Righteous Fire, swap to life stacking, then find a Combatant, Manyshot, or Kineticist mercenary and link to it. Early mercenaries are strong enough that an Absolution one can carry you into maps before the Flame Link setup is finished. Players pushed the Destructive Link crit chance stacking version to all Ubers on roughly 300 to 400 Divines, with dual Paradoxica, double The Taming, Marylene's Fallacy, and Replica Abyssus on the mercenary. If mercenaries survive the 3.30 balance pass, this stays at the top.

2. Essence Drain / Contagion
ED/C received large buffs in 3.29 and Goratha's version cruised through all content, scaling up to the damage-over-time cap. The progression of this build is simple: Until T16, play straight Spellslinger and let the auto-cast handle everything; after that, cast one Essence Drain plus Contagion and whole screens melt. For bosses, it only apply Withering Step, Essence Drain, then Blight to finish. It is a two-button mapper with very forgiving gear requirements, which suits people who play two to three hours a day.

3. Righteous Fire Chieftain (into Cast When Stunned)
RF is the most linear starter in the game. Follow Pohx's guide, ignore most map mods, and reach 2 to 3 million combined DPS with Fire Trap for normal map blasting. The step most players recommend is rolling into Emiracle's CWS Chieftain, which introduces Ultimatum and Simulacrum farming and runs 8-mod T16 maps. With a Mageblood, nearly every 8-mod combination becomes safe except cannot recover, less recovery, and chance to avoid ailments. It can also pivot into Fulcrum or life stacking.

A-Tier: Strong Starters With Clear Upgrade Paths

4. Strength Stacker Juggernaut (Glacial Hammer of Shattering)
A dad-gamer playing the Captain Lance private league documented this one from Act 1 to level 91. The path to level this build is worth copying: Level with Sunder through Act 4 or 5, buy Brutus' Lead Sprinkler (4 Chaos for the 20% attack speed roll) and pick up Alberon's Warpath, swap to Glacial Hammer of Shattering around Act 7 or 8, using Tribal Fury and Melee Strike Range nodes for splash, then add Crown of Eyes with Iron Will for a big damage jump, then Iron Fortress, Astramentis, Lethal Pride, and Lion's Roar. At 1,300 Strength it sat around 2 million average damage, cleared all 100+ map completions, and ran T16 8-mod maps. The aspirational step is Replica Alberon's Warpath at 40 to 50 Divines. Not the fastest mapper, but tankiness for the price is hard to beat.

5. Herald Stacker Autobomber Elementalist
Described as the most enjoyable build of 3.29 by several players, it clears with heralds alone and only needs Penance Brand for bosses. Cheap to get started, scales with expensive upgrades. The Phys DoT autobomber variant is stronger but far more expensive; with 50 Divines late in a league it becomes an option. Herald of the Hive with Forbidden Flame/Flesh for Profane Bloom was the zero-button answer for Breach fortresses.

6. Poison Ranged Animate Weapon Necromancer
Helmbreaker's Maxroll guide includes a full progression checklist and crafting steps for rares. In 3.29 it killed all Ubers and completed the T17 challenge with 5 scarabs, 150% quantity, and 100% Delirium. Playstyle: summon your weapons, Shield Charge through the map, let Bladefall of Trarthus auto-cast, and use Unleash to re-summon four at a time. Later, a trigger wand handles Desecrate and offerings, and a Guardian Turtle spectre gives Determination. One player reached 4 Voidstones on about 10 to 20 Divines. One caveat: it is a very different feel from Holy Relic of Conviction, so people coming off that build may want something else.

7. Facebreaker Champion (Dominating Blow of Inspiring)
This is the answer for anyone who keeps asking "why is my Champion build just a worse Slayer?" The route tested for 3.29: Swap to Facebreaker right after the first Ascendancy, play Facebreaker Sunder through the campaign. After T2 to T3 maps, transition into Dominating Blow of Inspiring with Multistrike, Ruthless, Brutality, Impale, and Pride, plus Precise Technique on the tree. The current PoB (level 80) shows 2,826 life with 75% elemental resistances and Soul of the Brine King. The aspirational PoB (20 to 50 Divines, a few days into the league) moves into Crit Frenzy of Onslaught at level 99 with 58,513 Armour, 77,155 Evasion, 90% evade, 62k eHP, and 31.9 million DPS using Grace, Determination, and Pride. Champion's free Fortify and 100% hit chance beat Slayer overleech on bad gear, and Slayer only pulls ahead once charges are solved with Ralakesh's Impatience or Farrul's Fur.

B-Tier: Good Fits for Specific Goals

8. CoC Forbidden Rite of Soul Sacrifice
A one-button build: hold Cyclone, homing projectiles fire everywhere, Shield Charge and Frostblink to move. It scales off Energy Shield, so gearing is "big ES = good." Flask sustain comes from crit, so no awkward downtime. The downside is that it is not playable until the high 80s; one player leveled with Ky's Blade Flurry/Blade Blast setup and reached 40/40 on a budget version before Mageblood. A Diamond Flask solves crit early.

9. Lightning Arrow / Elemental Hit of the Spectrum Deadeye
Fubgun and Havoc's builds are juiced map blasters. They look squishy on poe.ninja because they are designed around Headhunter: build stacks on rares, then clear three screens away while effectively immortal. They are not pinnacle bossers. Pair with double The Taming for Elemental Hit. The rule of thumb from the community: "if it clears a map in six portals or less, it needs more damage, not more survivability."

10. Lightning Tendrils Elementalist
Masterts' Whispering Tendrils guide on Mobalytics is the self-cast lightning option for Arc fans. Spell Totem can remove the channeling awkwardness at the cost of totem placement speed. Jiquani's Luminary Spark is the other lightning template, and Arc Luminary variants showed solid numbers on poe.ninja.

Other Reliable Options

  • Maw of Mischief Ignite Elementalist (start with Wave of Conviction).

  • Pathfinder: Toxic Rain (one player went 40/40 on it), or Poisonous Concoction of Bouncing into Viper Strike of the Mamba.

  • Earthshatter and other slams.

  • Stormburst Totems, Kinetic Fusillade Totems.

  • Power charge stackers: Blade Vortex, Penance Brand of Dissipation, or Winter Orb Occultist as a second character after an Elementalist golem starter.

  • Doom Blast Poison Occultist with Profane Bloom explosions.

  • Chains of Command for AFK Blight (about 1 Divine to start, roughly 100 Divines for a 95% The Adorned setup for Blight-ravaged maps).

Trade league gives you the luxury of buying the missing piece. SSF removes that safety net, so the list changes shape, and that is the next section.

PoE 3.30 Best Builds for League Starter & Endgame (SSF)

In Solo Self-Found, a build earns its place by needing few or no specific uniques, having its key gems available from quests or the Labyrinth, and functioning on rares you can craft with Essences, Harvest, and Rog. The ranking below reorders the Trade list with those filters applied.

S-Tier SSF Picks

1. Righteous Fire Chieftain
Everything the Trade section said applies, with one added benefit: RF does not care about weapons, so the hardest crafting slot in SSF disappears. Fire Trap covers single target early, and the build is tanky enough to carry you through 4 Voidstones while you stockpile crafting materials for your second character.

2. Essence Drain / Contagion
Spellslinger plus wands you craft yourself gets you to T16. From there, chaos DoT scaling comes mostly from the passive tree and rare gear with +1 chaos gems, which Essences and Harvest can produce. It farms Blight well early, which is also where DoT proliferation builds generate the most value in a self-found economy.

A-Tier SSF Picks

3. Toxic Rain Pathfinder
Completed 40/40 in Trade on 3.29, and it translates cleanly to SSF because the bow is a rare you can craft with Deafening Essences and the Pathfinder flask loop supplies defense. Expect a rougher first weekend than in Trade.

4. Earthshatter Juggernaut
Slams have been described as "usually solid" league after league. One good two-handed mace, endurance charges, and life on gear is the whole shopping list.

5. Facebreaker Champion
Facebreaker is a common drop and Dominating Blow of Inspiring comes from the Labyrinth, so the exact 3.29 route (Facebreaker Sunder, then Dominating Blow after early maps) works without trading. The level 99 Frenzy of Onslaught endgame version is a stretch in SSF because of the specific rares it wants, but the level 80 version with Shield Charge, Precision, Blood Rage, Pride, and Poacher's Mark is realistic.

6. Totem Builds
Stormburst Totems and Kinetic Fusillade Totems were named as dependable starters. Totems absorb aggression and let you build a defensive tree while damage scales through gem levels and spell damage on rare wands and sceptres.

B-Tier SSF Picks

8. Strength Stacker Juggernaut
The 3.29 playthrough above got Alberon's Warpath from a mercenary reward in Act 7, which shows the drop is not out of reach, but you cannot plan around it. Keep Sunder as the fallback and swap only when the boots and Brutus' Lead Sprinkler show up. Glacial Hammer of Shattering and Static Strike of Gathering Lightning both came from Cruel Lab, which is reliable.

9. Herald Stacker Elementalist
Low cost in Trade turns into a unique-hunting problem in SSF. Still playable with a generic Elementalist golem ignite setup until the heralds come online.

10. Summon Holy Relic of Conviction
A steady, low-APM minion build that one player used as their full-league character. Gear demands are modest and it does not depend on a weapon craft.

With both modes covered, a few general points will help you choose between the options.

How to Pick Your 3.30 League Starter

Pick three to five candidates now - Waiting for patch notes is sensible, but having a shortlist today means at least a couple will survive the balance changes, and you will have more free time now than in the week before launch.

Know what "league starter" means - It only means the build works on low investment and reaches T16 maps with at least two, preferably four, Voidstones. Some, like ED/C or RF into CWS, keep scaling to Ubers. Others, like Headhunter Deadeyes, peak at juiced mapping. Any good guide should state its ceiling.

Plan beyond red maps - The community consensus from 3.29 is that execution in the first few days matters more than the build name. Have a farming strategy ready: DoT proliferation builds suit early Blight, hit-based builds suit Delirium, Alva, and Beyond density, and CWS Chieftain suits Ultimatum and Simulacrum.

Expect a learner tax - Playing an unfamiliar archetype while following a guide will cost you some mistakes. That is normal, and the builds above are forgiving enough to absorb it.

Watch the Atlas changes - Because 3.30 is reshaping scarabs and endgame mechanics, prefer builds that can switch farming targets without a rebuild. RF Chieftain, ED/C, and PRAW are the safest in this respect.

The release calendar around 3.30 is crowded, with WoW Forever on November 4, GTA 6 on November 19, and Path of Exile 2 1.0 on December 11, but the league will run until roughly March, so there is no rush to be on the ladder on day one. Finish your Curse of the Old Flame challenges before November 9, tune in to ExileCon on November 6 and 7 PST for the reveal, and check back here after the patch notes drop. This list will be revised with confirmed buffs, nerfs, and the first poe.ninja snapshots once 3.30 goes live on November 13.
