Path of Exile 3.29 Allflame League brings back a reworked version of one of the most beloved farming mechanics from Settlers League. Kingsmarch, along with Kalguur and Ornodes, received a major rework in patch 3.28 that made the mechanic far more enjoyable and profitable than at any point since its introduction. With the arrival of the new Allflame League, Kingsmarch continues to serve as a fantastic currency-generation engine, offering great synergy with Delve and a modular setup that lets you dip in as much or as little as you want.
Before jumping into the specifics, let's take a quick look at what Kingsmarch actually offers in the current league state, and then we'll walk through everything you need to know to run it efficiently.
PoE 3.29 Kingsmarch Shipping Guide
Kingsmarch is a town-building and shipping mechanic that lets you send out ore, bars, and dust in exchange for large amounts of currency, tattoos, rune grafts, uniques, and well-rolled rare items. It functions somewhat like an SSF-friendly system since it operates independently of the trade market, meaning you generate raw divines, chaos, and other currencies without needing to sell items to other players.
In the 3.29 Allflame League, uniques are expected to carry more value due to the new Legion mechanic interactions, which means shipments that return uniques become even more rewarding than before. Kingsmarch pairs beautifully with Delve as part of a two-half league-start currency plan, but each half is modular, so you can commit to only one if that fits your playstyle better.
With that context in mind, let's look at what has actually changed in the mechanic itself.
Changes To Kingsmarch Shipping in PoE 3.29 League
The biggest change carried over from patch 3.28 is that shipping value has been reoriented around ore rather than crops. This shift removed the tedious feel of farming plants and instead ties shipping directly to your normal mapping activity.
Key Shipping Changes
Ore-focused shipments: You now clear maps to collect ore, smelt it into bars, and ship those bars for currency. Bars are about four times more valuable than the raw ore itself, so shipping bars is always the correct play.
One-to-one smelting: Unlike other games, you do not need two ore to make one bar. Smelting converts ore into bars at a straight 1:1 ratio.
Five ore node types: Each ore deposit type feels distinct, offering variety across maps instead of a single repetitive loop.
Bismuth juicing: Bismuth nodes now grant modifiers to monsters throughout the entire map, making the map more dangerous but also far more rewarding. Even players not fully committed to Kingsmarch often force Bismuth into their maps for the juicing effect alone.
Verissium immunity while channeling: You are now immune to damage and stuns while channeling Verissium nodes. This sounds great, but it can be bait — see the warning below.
The Verissium Warning
Do not let the immunity buff trick you into pushing every Verissium node to 100% charge. A fully charged Verissium fight can be comparable to 800–1,000 depth Delve encounters or even harder than some Uber bosses, depending on map mods. For some reason, it does not scale linearly:
60% Verissium: Easy once your build is online
80% Verissium: Still manageable
100% Verissium: Punishingly hard for the reward given
Play safely and stop channeling once the difficulty matches your build's power level.
Now that we know what has changed, let's look at how the mechanic actually functions from start to finish.
How Kingsmarch Shipping & Mapping Works in Path of Exile
The Kingsmarch loop is straightforward once you have your town set up. You travel to Kingsmarch via waypoint or by typing /kingsmarch (which you can macro through overlay tools or trade utilities for quick access).
The Basic Loop
Run maps and collect ore from the five node types in your Atlas
Smelt ore into bars at your smelters
Ship bars from the four ports for currency and items
Disenchant uniques into Theurgic Dust to boost shipment value
Recruit workers through Ralph to keep the operation running
Worker Recruitment
You recruit all workers through Ralph, and rolling costs vary in efficiency. Rolling for 2k gold typically gives you low-value hires, while spending more gold per roll gives much better returns per gold spent. Expect to burn a lot of gold on recruitment early, but this pays off through the rest of the league.
Gold Consumption Rules
Not every worker drains gold constantly. Here is how each type actually consumes gold:
Miners: Only consume gold when they have ore to mine
Smelters: Only when they have ore to smelt
Disenchanters: Only when they have items to disenchant
Shippers: Only when actively shipping
Mappers: Only when running maps
Farmers: Always consume gold (~300/hr each)
Farmers are the only perpetual gold drain, so if you decide crop farming is not for you, simply unsocket all of them and remove that ongoing cost entirely.
Port Affinities
Each port has different resource affinities. The most consistent finding from community research is that shipping Verissium to Kalguur tends to return more Divine Orbs. Otherwise, most players ship bars to the two closest ports:
Nanu: Tattoos
Ribbonfell: Rune Grafts
Now let's look at exactly what to ship and what to expect back.

There are two main shipping approaches, and both have their place depending on where you are in the league.
Approach 1: Fill Favored Resource Quotas
At the start of the league, the easiest method is to fill the favored resource quotas shown at each port. You can right-click ports to reroll their favored resources, though this burns gold, so adjust to your budget.
This method works well early because:
No large stockpile is required
Bonus rewards trigger when quotas are filled
Profitability is solid without much setup
Approach 2: Bulk 4M + 4M Shipping (Long-Term Method)
Once you have wealth built up, this becomes the go-to strategy for divine printing. The goal is to farm around 4 million shipment value in bars and pair it with 4 million shipment value in Theurgic Dust.
The dust doubles your shipment value up to that point, then hits heavy diminishing returns. For example:
Base bar shipment: 241,000 value
After matching 241,000 in dust: 482,000 value
Adding 30 million more dust: only a few million extra value
So the rule is simple — match dust to bars, then stop adding more dust.
Recommended Shipping Routes
| Bar Type | Ship To | Primary Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Verissium | Kalguur | Divine Orbs |
| Other Bars | Ribbonfell | Rune Grafts |
| Other Bars | Nanu | Tattoos |
Best Uniques to Disenchant for Dust
Focus on tier-zero-but-not-mandatory uniques. Good candidates include:
Lioneye's Glare
Bino's Kitchen Knife
Other commonly-dropped tier-zero uniques
These items sell for modest amounts but generate great dust totals when disenchanted in bulk.
Farming Fish for Specific Rewards
If you want specific bases or unique types, you can ship crops for targeted returns. For example:
Blue Xanthemum → Nanu: Pure/hybrid strength shields
Wheat → Kalguur: Sceptres
Any community resource made before patch 3.28 is completely out of date, so stick to current-league reference tables.
With shipping targets set, let's move on to the full farming strategy including Atlas setup.
PoE 3.29 Best Kingsmarch Shipping & Kalguuran Mapping Strategy
This section covers scarab choices, Atlas passives, Astrolabe usage, and the full league-start plan.
When to Start Kingsmarch
This is not a day-one strategy. Ease into Kingsmarch on days two and three once you have some map clears done. However, the new Allflame League mechanic seems to drop enormous amounts of gold via balloons, so you may be able to bootstrap Kingsmarch faster than in previous leagues.
Lower-tier maps still work perfectly fine, you just get less ore per node. If you need to backtrack for gearing or Atlas positioning, keep collecting ore along the way.
The Four Kalguuran Scarabs
All four scarabs stack together for maximum returns:
Kalguuran Scarab of the Foreman: Adds two extra ore deposits per map. Combined with baseline Atlas chances, this practically guarantees multiple nodes per map.
Kalguuran Scarab of Guarded Riches: Makes all monsters around ore deposits at least magic, potentially rare. This multiplies gold and item drops dramatically.
Kalguuran Scarab of Refinement: Converts all ore sources directly into bars. This skips mining and smelting entirely, saving both gold and hours of processing time. It becomes the most expensive scarab as the league progresses, so weave it in only once your build is settled and you have currency to spare.
Kalguuran Scarab of Enriching: Each completed ore deposit increases the difficulty and reward of the next by 15%.
Ore Deposit Priority Order (With Enriching Scarab)
When using Enriching, sequence matters:
Bismuth first, but only if you spot it quickly, don't scour the map
Lower-value nodes next (Crimson Iron, Petrified Amber, Orichalcum)
Verissium last, the difficulty boost will hit hardest here, so don't push to 100% unless you're truly ready
Astrolabe Strategy
Kingsmarch has no Astrolabe of its own, which is both a downside (no extra juicing) and an upside (no opportunity cost). Use regular Templar Astrolabes shaped in the southwest section of the Atlas. Once you clear the Originator questline in the top-left Atlas section, bosses will start dropping Astrolabes as a nice bonus.
Kalguuran Atlas Passive Tree Guide
Here is what to grab and why:

Core Ore Deposit Nodes
Chance to contain ore deposits: You want to reach around 92% (adding to the 8% baseline). Blocker nodes count toward this total, so grabbing them for scarab blocking is fine.
Increased ore small passives: Take every one you can find. All Kalguur small nodes are worth picking up.
Notable Kingsmarch Nodes
Yield Upon Yield: Chance for at least one extra ore deposit per map
Fortune's Favor: More chance for rarer nodes like Verissium and Bismuth
Lost in Transit: Ore deposits can be replaced by lost shipments containing random tattoos, six-links, uniques, or currency
Verissium Infusion: More Verissium spawns and longer channel time (dangerous but rewarding)
Crimson Infusion: Two extra Crimson Iron growth stages, adding massive monster density
Bismuth Infusion: 30% chance for extra modifiers on all monsters affected by Bismuth Ore — an insane juicing effect
Refiner's Bargain Keystone
This keystone spawns five possessed monsters in your maps and converts their drops into dust. In theory, this could convert a Mageblood into dust (it has never actually been observed happening). More practically, it works with sulphite conversion:
Converts sulphite in maps into random ore at 10% value
Works with Kalguuran Scarab of Refinement (turns into bars directly)
Works with double-sulphite Atlas nodes for bonus ore
You still get sulphite from Niko's Sulphite Infusion node and from guarded sulphite hoarding monsters, around 1,600 sulphite per map, so Delve remains fully functional alongside this setup.
One Extra Node to Watch
Altered Prophecy is worth eyeing later on. Divination cards are fun, and with the new Scrying Orb mechanic potentially being a high-value drop, a 4% chance per map to grab one is essentially free value.
Full League-Start Plan
Here's the recommended progression path:
Campaign clear with a small amount of Heist at the very end for basic gear
Early Atlas points → map drop chance (map clusters)
Second priority → Delve for early currency generation
Third priority → Kingsmarch as you push into red-tier maps
Climb to tier 16 maps using both mechanics to fund your build
Weave in the Allflame League mechanic to see how much gold it produces and speed up Kingsmarch setup
You may not even need the map cluster passives on your first tree, since second Atlas trees unlock at 50 points, Kingsmarch might be perfect as your dedicated second-tree specialty.
