The Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian Build is a powerful alternative to the Whirlwind build. The walking Arsenal passive is the key feature, which incentivizes swapping weapons while attacking enemies. The limitation is the amount of Fury spent in conjunction with skill cooldowns. However, we use a combination of aspect skills and passives to achieve 100% uptime while keeping the Fury Gauge at max. The build allows for various ways to engage enemies, starting with Lunging Strike dual wielded, followed by ground staff to stun enemies, then Death Flow, Slashing, and Hammer of the Ancients to bludgeon. If any enemies remain alive, Death Blow finishes them off to continue to the next encounter.

  • 2. Whirlwind Barbarian Build

A build centered around the Whirlwind with a very simple goal: jump in the pile, do the spinner and huge area damage, and give damage and mobility buffs to you and your allies. This alternative to Build HOTA is made for those who like to think of themselves as a giant lawn mower. The damage is less concentrated, but the group bonuses are more numerous, and it's a lot of fun to play. It's perfect for fast-paced farming too, once the build requirements are met.

Pros & Cons:

+Swirl in all directions

The Vortex Barbarian Build builds upon the beginner's Whirlwind barbarian build to enhance damage output, Fury generation, HP regeneration, and speed using additional skill points. This build swaps weapon expertise and technique and adds a charge alternative for an additional Unstoppable effect. The focus is on passive skills to achieve nearly 100% uptime with Whirlwind. The build combines various mechanics to create the ultimate Whirlwind Barbarian Build, utilizing shadows to boost Fury generation, increase damage, and set up berserking. Whirlwind applies vulnerable bleeding and slows to enemies. Lucky Hit chance triggers many effects, increased by pull arm weapon expertise.

The Blood Soaked Barbarian Build is an engaging and fun build that requires constant adjustment based on the battlefield's circumstances. Basic skills are not used for Fury generation, except for boss fights. The build instead uses Leap and Ground Storm to start in a cage and generate enough Fury for Rend. Two pairs of earthquakes deal physical damage while providing increased damage and damage reduction. While enemies are stunned, Rend applies bleed until the bar is almost full, then Rupture is used to instantly consume the remaining bleed. Ruptures heal for 15% of your Max health and create a blood explosion and pool, dealing even more bleeding damage to remaining enemies. For large groups, Challenging Shout reduces incoming damage and boosts Fury acquisition while Iron Skin is used as a last resort when crowd-controlled or low on health.
