Diablo 4 Season 10 Class & Build Tier List (2.4.0 PTR)

8/14/2025 9:12:30 AM

Diablo 4 Season 10 Infernal Chaos is here in September, and the 2.4.0 PTR is going to release soon. Hoping for some heavy buffs, nerfs, and the return of fan-favorite builds, especially around Core Skills! Now it’s time to talk about the class balance and S10 tier list!

Diablo 4 Season 10 PTR Tier List - Best Class & Builds in D4 2.4.0 PTR

Season 9 saw a few builds absolutely dominating the meta in Diablo 4, dealing hundreds or even sometimes thousands or 10,000 times more damage than others. This led to calls for improved class balance in Season 10, aiming for every class to have at least one or two fresh, competitive builds. For example, the Hydra Sorcerer and Pulverize Puddle Druid stood out as top picks, but some classes like Barbarian and Rogue lagged behind, with fewer viable or fun builds.
The PTR for Season 10 is the opportunity for Blizzard to address these gaps, with many hoping to see underused builds buffed rather than simply nerfing the top ones. Classes such as Barbarian and Rogue are expected to receive attention, potentially following the example set by the Druid, who moved from underpowered to a top choice over recent seasons.
Additionally, the developers have made adjustments to both core and basic skills. Basic skills received direct buffs, but their unique and legendary supporting items were reduced in power. Many players are calling for these nerfs to be reverted, bringing back fan-favorite builds like Heartseeker Rogue and encouraging more simplified, accessible playstyles for less experienced players.
Bug fixes are also a focus this season, especially for outlier builds like Spiritborn, which currently benefit from bugs resulting in unreasonably high damage.
With the Season 10 test server approaching here, we want to talk about the current state of class balance in Diablo 4 and sort out an early Diablo 4 Season 10 Tier List for 2.4.0 PTR based on the class balance and changes we know so far!

1. Sorcerer (S Tier)

Sorcerer leads the pack once again in Season 10, with Hydra Sorcerer maintaining its status as the top build. The Hydra setup offers potent AoE and straightforward gameplay, making it both strong and approachable for all players. Mana management improvements and buffs to basic skills make this class especially smooth. Sorcerer's toolkit also features solid alternatives like Ice Shards and Blizzard builds, but nothing quite matches the Hydra in terms of fun and raw output.

Main Changes:

  • Basic skill base damage increased across the board.

  • Hydra mana cost lowered, base damage increased, lucky hit chance improved.

  • Ice Shards and Blizzard remain viable, with minor nerfs to Enlightenment and Combustion capping Hydra's scaling.

Best Sorcerer Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Hydra Sorcerer (S Tier) – Massive scaling and high clear speed, easy to play.

  • Ice Shards Sorcerer (A Tier) – Reliable for endgame content.

  • Blizzard Sorcerer (A Tier) – Flexible and consistent for high-tier clears.

2. Spiritborn (S Tier)

Spiritborn emerges as a new powerhouse in the meta, mainly due to the Thorn Spiritborn build. Leveraging a combination of bugged interactions and high base damage, Spiritborn is clearing the most challenging content with ease. The future standing of this class depends on upcoming bug fixes, but for now, it sits comfortably at the top.

Main Changes:

  • Unique Spiritborn interactions are currently producing extreme damage numbers.

  • Community expects balance adjustments before live launch.

Best Spiritborn Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Thorn Spiritborn (S Tier) – Leading the charts, especially in high-end Pit clears.

  • Other Spiritborn builds remain experimental but show promise for versatility.

3. Druid (A+ Tier)

Druid continues to impress in Season 10, building on the momentum from last season. Pulverize Puddle Druid is the go-to setup, featuring high burst damage and excellent survivability. Companion Druid and Earth Spike Druid also benefit from buffs, creating more variety within the class.

Main Changes:

  • Pulverize Puddle remains a top build, with core skill buffs across the board.

  • Companions and Earth Spike see improvements, making previously underused builds viable.

  • Druid's role as a tanky, high-damage class is cemented this season.

Best Druid Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Pulverize Puddle Druid (S Tier) – Strong in all content, easy to recommend.

  • Companion Druid (A Tier) – Much improved, offers a pet-centric playstyle.

  • Earth Spike Druid (A Tier) – A fresh choice after recent buffs.

4. Barbarian (A Tier)

Barbarian is holding steady in the upper tier, with a focus on Mighty Throw and rotational builds. While still powerful, the class would benefit from more straightforward or classic options—many players are hoping to see Whirlwind and HOTA regain prominence. The rotation-heavy nature of top Barb builds makes them less appealing for the average player.

Main Changes:

  • Core skill buffs help, but Barb is still dominated by a single meta build.

  • Mighty Throw build leads, but the complexity holds it back from S Tier.

  • Calls for buffs to Whirlwind and HOTA remain strong in the community.

Best Barbarian Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Mighty Throw Barbarian (A Tier) – High ceiling, but not as user-friendly.

  • Whirlwind Barbarian (B Tier) – Needs further tuning to reclaim the top spot.

  • HOTA Barbarian (B Tier) – Still lagging behind after previous nerfs.

5. Rogue (B+ Tier)

Rogue hasn't quite found its footing in Season 10. Heartseeker and other basic skill builds are improved after recent buffs, but the class still lacks a true S-Tier contender. Rogue remains fast and agile, with solid clear speed, but needs a new standout build to rise higher in the rankings.

Main Changes:

  • Basic skill buffs bring Heartseeker and similar builds into play.

  • Core skills are still underutilized, leaving Rogue behind other classes.

  • Strong mobility, but missing the excitement of a meta-defining build.

Best Rogue Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Heartseeker Rogue (B+ Tier) – Improved, but not leading the meta.

  • Rapid Fire Rogue (B Tier) – Consistent but not exceptional.

  • Flurry Rogue (B Tier) – Good for speed, lacks endgame dominance.

6. Necromancer (B Tier)

Necromancer faces challenges in both mobility and damage output this season. The class is heavily reliant on ultimate abilities and procs, with core and basic skills still underdeveloped. Mobility remains a key issue, and Necro will need more impactful buffs to climb the rankings.

Main Changes:

  • No major movement skill introduced, leaving Necromancer trailing in speed.

  • Some buffs to core skills, but not enough to compete at the top.

  • Reliance on ultimates and environmental procs continues.

Best Necromancer Builds in D4 S10 2.4.0 PTR:

  • Blood Wave Necromancer (B Tier) – Requires precise rotation, not very accessible.

  • Minion Necromancer (B Tier) – Decent, but lacks top-tier power.

  • Bone Spear Necromancer (B Tier) – Balanced, but overshadowed by other classes.
