The Diablo 4 Goblin event has just started. It runs from July 29 to August 5, but take the end time cautiously — it says “13 hours,” which might mean 9 a.m. depending on your time zone. Read this D4 Goblin farm guide, we'll share the best spots, routes and tips to hunt Goblins.
The Goblins event in Diablo 4 is a limited-time event where Treasure Goblins—normally rare and elusive enemies—spawn more frequently across Sanctuary. These mischievous creatures drop valuable loot, including gold, crafting materials, and unique items. During this Diablo IV Goblin event, kill as many goblins as possible to earn reputation and reward bags. Reward bags can contain:
Magical treasure
Murmuring Obols
Crafting materials (like Obducite)
Gems & Runes
Nahantu is like a maze — full of narrow alleyways and enclosed paths. This layout increases goblin spawn rates. Other zones aren’t as dense, so goblins spawn less consistently.
1 - Open World Goblin Hunting:
Run around Nahantu with your pet and kill any goblins you find. Goblins show up as white icons on the minimap.
Pro Tip: Disable cross-play in game settings if you're on console or want fewer players stealing goblins.
2 - Combine with Helltide (Infernal Tide)
Killing goblins while in Helltide events helps you farm Cinders and open the 250-Cinder Tortured Gifts (orange chest). It's a great 2-in-1 farming route.
Location: Near Cárigar (Kyovashad region).
It's very short layout. After Phase 1, Phase 2 is a looping maze. Look for the Greed Shrine (Sagrario de Codicia). It spawns 4-5 goblins instantly.
Repeat Method
Enter the dungeon. Kill the initial objective to unlock the maze phase. Find and activate the greed shrine. Exit via emote wheel → Abandon Dungeon. Reset and re-enter for infinite goblin farming.
Build Tips
Use Teleport skills (especially Sorcerers). Build for high speed and AoE to maximize goblin kills.
Each goblin drops a type of bag:
Green (Crafting Materials) → Obducite & other mats.
Gold → Gold only.
Blue (Magic Treasure) → 2 legendaries + gold.
White (Runes & Gems) → Fragment runes and gems.
Obols Bag → Use for gambling powerful gear.
1. Open World Zones (Overworld) – BEST Goblin Farming
Performance: EXCELLENT
Highlights:
Multiple goblins per minute: Players are consistently finding 5–8 goblins per minute by rotating through open world areas like Nantu.
Tons of loot: Each goblin drops bags like Bag of Obols, Bag of Coin, Scattered Prisms, Runes, and up to 5,000+ Optoxide/Obdukite.
Greed Shrines are active again and drop even more goblins and loot.
Horse + Subu Map Pack: Riding a mount with increased vision range helps spot goblins early.
Low-pop instance tip: Disabling Crossplay helps reduce player density, allowing more goblins to spawn in your instance.
Best Strategy:
Use a Sorcerer (for fast teleport) or mount to zoom between goblin clusters.
Prioritize Greed Shrines when spotted.
Loop low-density areas around Kehjistan, Nantu, and PvP zones (underrated and quieter).
Go opposite of the crowd — less traffic = more goblins for you.
Verdict:
S-tier Goblin farming — Absolutely busted right now. Best for farming Obols, materials, and event reputation.
2. Nightmare Dungeons (NMDs) – Mid Efficiency, RNG-Based
Performance: AVERAGE (Conditional)
Highlights:
Not consistent: Unless you get a Greed Shrine inside, goblins are rare.
When a Greed Shrine spawns: It can spawn up to 5–7 goblins in rapid succession.
Dungeons like “Maalwood” and others were tested — no goblins unless shrine spawns.
Best Strategy:
Run Nightmare Dungeons only if they contain a Greed Shrine or elite Treasure Breach.
Use these for additional farming, but don’t rely solely on them for goblins.
Speed is key — too fast and you may skip over goblins.
Verdict:
B-tier Goblin farming — Only worth it if a Greed Shrine spawns or you’re chasing dungeon objectives anyway.
3. PvP Zones – Surprisingly Rewarding
Performance: VERY GOOD
Highlights:
Goblin clusters found reliably, especially during bounties and random roam.
Greed Shrines spawn here as well, leading to goblin chains.
Less player traffic = more goblins for you.
PvP adds chaos, but goblin drops are just as juicy (bags, GA items, obols, etc.).
Best Strategy:
Do a full circuit of the PvP zone after grabbing the local bounty.
Use teleport or mount speed to spot goblins from afar.
Be alert — you can get ambushed, but loot is absolutely worth it.
A Goblin Dungeon refers to a Nightmare Dungeon that has the Treasure Breach affix, introduced in Season 9 as part of the Goblin event.
Spawns massive numbers of Treasure Goblins — 20 to 30+ goblins in a single dungeon. Each goblin drops:
Obducite / Optoxide / Obols
Loot bags (Bag of Obols, Bag of Coin, Bag of Materials, etc.)
Tons of Ancestral Legendaries
Crafting materials, including Scattered Prisms, Runes, and Harmony Tribute
If you enter one of these, it becomes a goblin bonanza dungeon, arguably one of the most lucrative single-instance loot explosions in the entire game right now.
Every completed Nightmare Dungeon has a chance to drop a new sigil.
These sigils may randomly roll the Treasure Breach affix.
Running in a group increases efficiency (if any player gets the affix, the group benefits).
The new Escalation Dungeons (ending in a fight with Osteroth) can drop multiple sigils.
Each floor and final boss reward have a chance to include Treasure Breach affix.
You can craft sigils with 60 Sigil Powder at the Occultist. However, this is inefficient — Treasure Breach is still extremely rare even when crafting.
Sources of Sigil Powder:
Salvaging existing sigils (+15 per)
Whisper Caches
Helltide Chests
