Leoric's Crown, a Unique Helm available to all classes, has become one of the most talked-about pieces of gear this season thanks to its interaction with the new Soul Splinter system. Whether you are pushing a Poison Barrage Rogue, a Shadow Bone Spirit Necromancer, or any build that leans on gem power, this helm can transform your damage output. Below is a full look at what Leoric's Crown does, which builds benefit most from it, and how to farm it efficiently.

Leoric's Crown is a Unique Helm usable by every class in the game. It was reintroduced as one of the Legacy Uniques in Season 15: Season of Hell's Legacy, and it carries a guaranteed Attack Speed affix along with its Unique Power. So what exactly makes this helm so sought after in Season 15?
The Legacy Unique Effect
The core power reads as follows: This item counts as Jewelry and increases the effect of any gem socketed into the helm by x(75–100)%.
Two things happen here at once:
The helm is treated as Jewelry. Because of this classification, gems socketed into the crown produce their Jewelry effect rather than their Armor effect. For example, a Topaz normally grants Intelligence on armor, but on the crown it grants Lightning Resistance, just as it would in an amulet or ring.
Any socketed gem effect is amplified by up to 50% (or higher, depending on the roll). The tooltip lists x(75–100)%, and at maximum rolls the boost pushes gem stats well beyond what any other slot can provide.
Season 15 Synergy With Soul Splinters
The reason Leoric's Crown feels so strong right now comes from its interaction with Soul Splinters, the seasonal socketable items added in Hell's Legacy. Soul Splinters normally can only be socketed into Jewelry (amulets and rings), which limits you to three slots at most. Because Leoric's Crown counts as Jewelry, it opens two extra Splinter sockets on the helm itself, letting you run up to five Soul Splinters at once.
On top of that, the crown's amplification multiplies the Splinter's numerical bonuses (such as All Stats, Resistance rolls of 1,750, and similar values) by roughly 1.5x, giving you both extra sockets and stronger sockets in one piece.

Because the crown amplifies whatever you put into it, gem choice matters more than usual. Two Splinters pair especially well with the helm:
Abyssal Splinter of the Black Soulstone. This Splinter grants a stacking damage buff as you kill enemies and absorb souls, with a 15-second duration. It also increases damage taken as a tradeoff, but the offensive scaling is enormous once amplified by the crown.
Abyssal Splinter of Pain. This one provides a strong damage reduction value, though it comes with a 30% movement speed penalty. When paired with the crown's multiplier, the survivability gain is very high.
Running both together gives you an offensive Splinter and a defensive Splinter, each boosted by up to 50%.
Countering the Movement Speed Penalty
The 30% movement speed loss from Splinter of Pain hurts farming speed. Fortunately, there are several ways to cancel it out:
Abyssal Splinter of the Mother. Applies an Unstoppable-style Bound effect that overrides the slow.
Aspect of the Umbral (Necromancer) or Ghostwalker Aspect (all classes). Either legendary aspect can substitute for Mother if you don't have it.
Tyrael's Might / Tassets of the Dawning Sky style Uniques such as Ashera's Khanjar greaves can also negate the slow.
Best Leoric's Crown Builds
Across most class guides for Season 15, roughly half of endgame builds list Leoric's Crown as the recommended helm. In particular, any build that previously relied on Heir of Perdition as a generic damage multiplier can swap it out for the crown without losing much power. Two current examples:
Poison Barrage Rogue (Endgame)
Helm: Leoric's Crown holds the top Splinters (Black Soulstone + Hellfire).
Paired with Debilitating Toxins chest, Fists of Fate gloves, Tibault's Will pants, and Ring of Starless Skies.
The crown is listed as the number one Mythic priority for the build, since it stacks the strongest Splinters directly into a fifth and sixth socket.
Shadow Bone Spirit Necromancer
Uses Leoric's Crown with Splinter of Hellfire as the seasonal power of choice.
Since Damage Over Time builds do not scale with crit, Hellfire acts as a free damage multiplier, then the crown amplifies it further.
Fills out the setup alongside Vengeful Sinew, Blood-Mad Idol, Fists of Fate, and Writhing Aspect.
Builds that require a class-specific Unique helm (such as certain class-locked headpieces) obviously cannot use it, but for any build with a flexible helm slot, Leoric's Crown is one of the strongest general-purpose choices in Season 15.
How To Get Leoric's Crown: Drop Boss, Location, Drop Rate, and Best Farm Strategies
With the value of the crown established, the next question is how to actually get one into your inventory.
Primary Drop Location (Boss): Waking Nightmare Bosses
Leoric's Crown is one of the Legacy Uniques added in Season 15: Season of Hell's Legacy. It drops from Prime Evil Echoes fought inside the Waking Nightmare seasonal activity. The most reliable named source has been the Echo of Diablo, though other Prime Evil Echoes in the Greater Waking Nightmare rotation can also drop it.
The Guaranteed Early-Season Drop Location
The first part of the season's Baal questline (tied to the Worldstone Keep storyline) guarantees a Leoric's Crown as a quest reward. Because of this:
You can create a fresh level 1 character and run the opening questline yourself for a guaranteed copy.
You can join a friend who is starting the seasonal quest and receive one from that shared progress.
One important note from the community: the guaranteed drop only fires the first time you go through the quest on that character. If you destroy your crown, Baal will not drop another one on repeat runs, and instead often drops other Legacy Uniques like Squirt's Blouse in its place.
Other Confirmed Drop Locations

Treasure Goblins, especially at higher character levels.

The most efficient path to a high-quality Leoric's Crown looks like this:
Rush to level 70 before starting the seasonal Baal storyline - Delaying the storyline lets you complete it at a higher level with better base loot rolls.
Push into Torment VI or higher - This is the tier where the crown reenters the drop pool with Ancestral stats.
Farm Waking Nightmare and Prime Evil Echoes on repeat - The Echo of Diablo has been the most reported source among the Prime Evils.
Run Helltides and Goblin hunts on the side - These give consistent chances at Legacy Uniques while you work through Nightmare progression.
Keep an eye on the Horadric Cube - Since Leoric's Crown is one of the Mythic-priority items in most tier lists, crafting it there with Pandemonium Fragments is another route once you have collected enough materials, though remember you can only equip one crafted Mythic at a time.
