The arrival of WoW of Warcraft: Forever is set to shake up the Classic experience with new content, redesigned talent trees, class changes, and a much wider range of viable builds. While the game is still being tested and class balance can change before release, early gameplay footage and talent-tree testing already give us a good idea of which classes could dominate the new Classic+ experience.
WoW Forever Best Class - Warcraft Forever Class Tier List & Ranking
This Warcraft Forever Class Tier List ranks the strongest classes and specs into S, A, and B tiers based on their current damage potential, talent changes, scaling, utility, and overall strength. Keep in mind that this is an early ranking, so some classes could move up or down as players discover new builds and Blizzard makes balance adjustments. If you're wondering about the Warcraft Forever best class, the answer will depend heavily on your preferred role and playstyle. However, some classes already stand out as particularly promising.
S Tier – Warcraft Forever Best Classes
S Tier represents the classes with the highest potential in the current WOW Forever tier class tier list. These classes either receive exceptionally strong talent changes or already have powerful foundations that could scale extremely well at level 60.
Beast Mastery Hunter
Beast Mastery Hunter is one of the most interesting S-Tier picks in this early WoW of Warcraft: Forever class tier list. Unlike Survival Hunter, which received considerably more attention during the early testing, Beast Mastery has not received many flashy new mechanics. In fact, the most obvious addition discussed for BM is the ability to throw a hawk at an enemy, dealing damage over an extended 18-second period.
For players looking for a straightforward ranged DPS class with strong potential, Beast Mastery Hunter could be the Warcraft Forever best class for you. It may not have the most exciting new mechanics, but don't confuse a lack of flashy changes with a lack of power.
Demonology Warlock
Demonology Warlock is another clear S-Tier contender and one of the most exciting specs in the early Warcraft Forever Class Tier List. Warlocks are receiving powerful changes across multiple talent trees, but Demonology stands out because of the unusual flexibility built into its new mechanics. Warlock has arguably one of the strongest overall class toolkits in early WoW Forever testing. Demonology in particular has the potential to become one of the WOW Forever best classes for players who want powerful DPS combined with unique combat mechanics.
A Tier – Strong WoW Forever Classes
A-Tier classes are powerful and highly competitive but may not have quite the same combination of scaling or standout mechanics as the S-Tier choices. They should still be excellent options for leveling, dungeons, raids, and endgame content.
Fury Warrior
Fury Warrior remains a strong choice in the early WOW Forever tier class tier list, even though its changes may look less dramatic than those of some other classes. Fury gains hit rating, while Whirlwind can now strike with the off-hand weapon and Cleave receives improvements to its cost. These changes may not immediately make Warriors look broken, but Warriors have historically had excellent scaling as gear improves.
Feral Druid
Feral Druid also lands comfortably in A Tier. The spec receives several useful improvements, including an actual resurrection ability and Berserk interactions that allow Mangle to hit additional targets. King of the Jungle also provides an instant 60 energy boost, making the rotation more accessible and potentially improving the spec's consistency.
Arcane Mage
Arcane Mage is another strong A-Tier option, although its performance appears to come with an important limitation: mana management. Mage players were able to demonstrate extremely high DPS during early testing, but mana consumption was still a major concern. Some builds can run out of mana during extended fights, meaning that raw damage numbers do not tell the entire story.
Assassination Rogue
Assassination Rogue earns an A-Tier position thanks to its combination of familiar strengths and the broader quality-of-life improvements coming to Rogues. One major improvement is that combo points remain on the target when switching targets, making the class considerably less frustrating to play in encounters that require target swapping. The updated energy system also gives Rogues a more modern feel.
Elemental Shaman
Elemental Shaman has some of the most obvious power increases in the current Warcraft Forever Class Tier List. The talent tree immediately shows several tools that can significantly improve both damage and utility. Lava Burst gives Elemental a powerful offensive option, while Lightning Overload provides a chance to cast an additional copy of a spell. Fire Nova Totem is also much easier to use, functioning as a more convenient AoE ability instead of requiring the same clunky setup.
B Tier – Solid but More Situational
B-Tier classes are still perfectly viable in WoW Forever. Being placed in B Tier does not mean a class is weak; rather, these specs currently appear to have fewer advantages compared with the strongest options in the game.
Balance Druid
Balance Druid is arguably the strongest version of Boomkin seen in Classic so far, but it still falls into B Tier in this early ranking because other classes are receiving even more substantial improvements. The new version is much closer to the Wrath-era Boomkin design, with Eclipse encouraging players to alternate between Wrath and Starfire. Balance also gains additional damage and critical strike talents, giving the spec considerably more offensive power.
Shadow Priest
Shadow Priest remains B Tier in this early WoW of Warcraft: Forever best class ranking. DoTs can benefit from critical strike, every Priest receives Fear Ward, and Devouring Plague becomes a built-in part of the class. Shadow Form also provides a 50% reduction to mana costs, helping solve one of the biggest problems Shadow Priests traditionally face at level 60.
Retribution Paladin
Ret Paladin should remain viable, but based on the current information, it does not quite reach the upper tiers of the WOW Forever best classes. Twist of Light essentially provides a free melee attack while allowing two seals to be active, effectively automating part of the traditional seal-twisting gameplay. Retribution also receives strong spell-damage scaling from Intellect.
Discipline Priest
Discipline Priest deserves a place on the B-Tier side of the Warcraft Forever Class Tier List, particularly because Blizzard is clearly trying to make alternative Priest builds more viable. The broader Priest changes give the class a much stronger foundation. Smite-focused gameplay, for example, gains Penance and Power and Light, with Smite and Penance dealing increased damage against targets affected by Holy Fire.
If you are trying to decide WoW of Warcraft: Forever best class, don't focus only on the current tier. Your preferred role, playstyle, group composition, and the type of content you plan to play will all matter. Still, this Warcraft Forever Class Tier List provides a useful starting point for choosing a class before the new Classic+ meta takes shape.

The biggest selling points
1. Level 60 forever is probably the most important concept.
This isn't Classic → TBC → Wrath-style vertical progression. The transcript repeatedly emphasizes that Level 60 remains the permanent cap, with new content added horizontally instead of requiring players to level from 60 to 70, 80, etc.
2. The world—not character power—is supposed to remain the focus.
The design goal is explicitly to preserve the dangerous, exploration-heavy Vanilla experience: no flying mounts, no level scaling, meaningful leveling, and continued emphasis on grouping and social interaction.
3. New zones are a huge part of the expansion.
The transcript names several new areas. Mount Hyjal is being reworked into an endgame/leveling area with raid locations, while Shandralas fills in previously empty space between Mulgore and Desolace. River Blades adds 115 new quests, reputations, rewards and a Goblin port. Zephyrus Isle introduces the new Skyborn race.
4. The Skyborn is more than a simple reskinned race.
Skyborn can choose either Horde or Alliance, with faction choice affecting available classes. Horde Skyborn gain access to Shaman, while Alliance Skyborn get Mage, alongside Hunter, Warrior, Rogue and Druid options. They also have unique customization, voices, dances and Druid forms.
5. Class reworks are designed to make “meme specs” viable.
This is another major feature. Blizzard's apparent philosophy is not to make every specialization equally powerful at everything, but to give previously weak playstyles legitimate roles. That could make WoW Forever class changes / talent changes / best specs major future search topics.
6. Dungeons and raids expand the endgame without increasing the level cap.
The new dungeon lineup is particularly extensive, including Dalaran, Ruins of Lordaeron, Hall of Thanes, Drowned City, Alcatraz Island, Shapers Terrace, Coldrock Stronghold and Black Morass Hold. The purpose is partly to eliminate leveling gaps where players repeatedly farm the same Vanilla dungeons.
The most interesting “modern” features
The really interesting part is that WoW Forever isn't trying to preserve every single limitation of Vanilla.
It selectively adds modern systems:
Transmog
HD character models
Improved graphics
Gamepad support
Legacy progression
New PvP systems
More race/class combinations
Additional profession content
But Blizzard appears to be adding them in ways intended to preserve the Classic experience. The best example is transmog. It's optional, and players can choose whether they see other players' transmogs. This creates a compromise between players who want Classic's recognizable gear silhouettes and players who want cosmetic customization.
Camping could be a surprisingly important system
Camping is probably one of the most interesting new mechanics from a gameplay perspective.
Players can establish camps in the open world, use professions to provide buffs, and encourage other players to physically gather there to receive those buffs. The transcript compares the concept to a D&D-style long rest.
Legacy System
The Legacy system appears to work somewhat like an achievement/progression system where accomplishments on one character can provide benefits to alts. The exact mechanics aren't fully explained yet in the transcript, so I'd avoid making specific claims about what those rewards will be.
