Diablo 4 Season 15 Tier List - Best Class & Builds in 3.2 PTR
Season 15 introduces a wave of new content and system reworks that will impact every build in the game. We're getting Soul Splinters (new socketable gems for jewelry), Challenge Dungeons that scale up to three Torment tiers above your current difficulty, Overland Ambushes, 10 Legacy Uniques pulled from Diablo 1, 2, and 3, a completely reworked Mythic crafting system, new Mythic and Unique Charms, and the long-awaited Rebirth feature that lets you convert Eternal characters to Seasonal.
The class balance changes tell a mixed story. Barbarians are getting nerfed but remain strong, Rogues stay largely untouched at the top, Warlocks receive massive buffs, Druids and Necromancers appear to be struggling, and Sorcerers and Spiritborn are in rough shape despite some targeted improvements. Core stat scaling has been adjusted across most classes to help even out the damage gap between weapon-heavy classes and everyone else.
What's New in Season 15

The Power Creep Math
Testing on the PTR confirms a ~4.2x total power gain for most builds when factoring in:
Soul Splinter buffs (1.5x for DoT/crit builds, 1.5x from monster kill splinters, 1.35x from crit/attack speed combo)
Mythic Charm buff (~1.27x)
Legacy Uniques (~1.1x)
Core main stat scaling (roughly 1.24x for most classes)
Diablo 4 Season 15 Best Class Tier List
Now that we've covered the overall picture, let's move on to the class tier list and see which classes are winners and losers in Season 15 with the blances and changes in the 3.2 ptach
1. Rogue (S Tier)
Rogue continues to reign supreme in Season 15. It's already the most well-balanced class in the game with an incredible range of viable builds, and the developers left it largely alone in the patch notes. With Barbarian taking hits and Rogue receiving small quality-of-life buffs to combo point cycling, Rogue is quietly cementing itself as the top choice.
Changes in Season 15:
Combo point cycle reversed from 3-to-1 to 1-to-3, improving flow on multiple builds.
No meaningful nerfs to any core build.
Azurewrath nerfed, which hits Freeze Rain of Arrows builds specifically.
Grenade skills received large buffs (though still clunky in practice).
Best Builds for Season 15:
Poison Rain of Arrows Rogue
Poison Pen Shot Rogue (x2 from new Hellfire Splinter)
Dance of Knives Poison Rogue
Heartseeker Rogue
Death Trap Rogue (no longer bugged but still viable)
Twisting Blade Rogue (freshly buffed)
2. Warlock (S Tier)
Warlocks got the biggest patch notes of any class, and it's almost entirely buffs. The clunkiness and mobility issues that held Warlock back are being addressed head-on with new "cast while moving" functionality on skills like Dark Prison and Bombardment.
Changes in Season 15:
Dark Prison, Bombardment, and Spear of Chaos can now be cast while moving.
New Anathema of the Prime set enables perma-leap Rampage speed farming.
Hellhound Sabatons buffed, your Aboddon fiend automatically casts equipped Hellfire skills.
Improved Dominance generation through new means, including a new glyph.
Numerous quality-of-life fixes across the class.
Best Builds for Season 15:
Blazing Scream Warlock (200+ Q DPS, the highest DPS build)
Apocalypse Warlock (insane 1-shot potential)
Perma-Leap Rampage Warlock (rivals Barbarian for speed farming)
Hellhound Aboddon Warlock (100+ trillion damage, one-button playstyle)
Lunatic Warlock (infinite Wrath on PTR)
Minion Warlock with Aggramoth (still unkillable, pushes 135+
3. Barbarian (A Tier)
Barbarian is coming down from the top but starting from such a lofty position that it will still be one of the strongest classes. The Strength scaling nerf combined with Ramaladni's rework will force players to build defenses properly instead of running immortal static setups.
Changes in Season 15:
Strength scaling reduced from 1.1% to 0.8% damage per 10 Strength (roughly 21% damage loss at 3k Strength).
Ramaladni's now drains 10% max Fury per second instead of 10 flat (kills static builds, though it can be solved with 50%+ resource generation on rings/helm).
Melted Heart buffed to 200% (immortal Barb still viable).
Ancient shouts like War Cry nerfed.
Ravenous Ring heavily nerfed (Rend Leap builds hit hard).
Ring of Red Furor now enables 100% crit chance on Core and Weapon Mastery skills.
HotA gets a comeback thanks to Furor + Expectant aspect (160x) + new synergies
Best Builds for Season 15:
Charge Barbarian (still the best pusher, easy 150)
Whirlwind Barbarian (best farming, immortal setup still strong)
Self-Cast Fire Rend Barbarian (new ranged variant)
Hammer of the Ancients Barbarian (comeback candidate)
Bash Barbarian
4. Spiritborn (A Tier)
Spiritborn is in a strange spot. Counterattack Swarm got its damage halved, but the new Swarm of Storms paragon board opens up multiple new build paths. The Tzic rune bug (free x500% damage) reportedly still exists on the PTR.
Changes in Season 15:
Counterattack Swarm base damage reduced by 50% (still x2 from DoT splinter).
New Swarm of Storms paragon board gives 80% multiplicative damage to Pestilent Swarm and Spirit Storm skills.
Spirit Storm damage doubled.
Storm Feather damage buffed by 150% on the new board.
Talon glyph crit damage buffed from 15% to 25%.
Aspect of Heavenly Strength now equippable by Spiritborn (nerfed but usable).
Withering Fist gets a triple damage buff.
Rock Splitter and Thunder Spike basic skills buffed
Best Builds for Season 15:
Poison Swarm Spiritborn (still absurd, did Pit 150 in 7 minutes)
Stinger Spiritborn (great for leveling, scales hard with Potent Sting)
Quill Volley Spiritborn
Firestorm Evade Spiritborn
Storm Feather Evade Spiritborn
Crushing Hands Spiritborn
5. Paladin (B Tier)
Paladins received surprisingly few changes considering how many issues plague the class. The sets still hold Paladins back, and bug fixes players were hoping for simply didn't arrive. Massive single-target Judgment buffs may revive that build.
Changes in Season 15:
Fist of the Heavens buffed.
Judgment stacking changes with heavy single-target buffs.
Oath buff (+30% damage) applies to Hammerdin and Zeal.
Trumpet Ring buffed for Judgment.
Radiant Fire set changed to 20 stacks (still not smooth).
Righteous Will set remains boss-only in practice.
Resolve is now capped for Clash builds.
Aura Potency stat still undertuned and buggy.
Best Builds for Season 15:
Wing Strike Paladin (more base Wing damage + Oath buff + Defiance)
Zeal Paladin (Oath and sword buffs)
Judgment Paladin (potential revival)
Hammerdin
Divine Lance Paladin
Thorns Paladin (Shield buffed)
6. Druid (B Tier)
Druids took some heavy hits. Might of the Design got nerfed, the Resolve stacking ring for Werewolf is down, and Storm Shepherd set was gutted from a 1.2 million% multiplier down to just 80%.
Changes in Season 15:
Storm Shepherd set nuked (no more stacking or self-multiplying).
Werewolf Resolve stacking ring nerfed.
Storm Wolf nerfed.
Bear Companion nerfed but still workable (250x paragon multiplier on 5-piece set).
Claw, Tornado, and Grizzly Rage received small buffs.
Storm Strike received minor buffs.
Perma-Dash Wolf set nerfed
Best Builds for Season 15:
Shred Druid (many snapshots fixed but still powerful)
Lightning Storm Druid (great AoE for leveling and endgame)
Werenado Druid
Bear Companion Druid
Landslide Druid (Earth focus, decent AoE)
Boulder Druid
7. Sorcerer (C Tier)
Sorcerers remain in rough shape. A few builds got targeted buffs, but the class-wide issues weren't addressed. Firewall got absolutely nuked and now only works with Pyro skills.
Changes in Season 15:
Frozen Orb (fire version) buffed.
Cold Fireball buffed.
Ball Lightning buffed and can be cast while moving again (much weaker overall).
Ice Spikes buffed heavily across the board.
Firewall nerfed hard (Pyro skills only).
Meteor Helm buff + Paragon and Heat set buffs
Best Builds for Season 15:
Firewall DoT Sorcerer (still OP with x2 Hellfire Splinter)
Ball Lightning Sorcerer
Frozen Orb Sorcerer
Cold Fireball Sorcerer
Meteor Sorcerer
Blizzard Sorcerer
Chain Lightning Sorcerer
8. Necromancer (D Tier)
Necromancer is in the worst spot heading into Season 15. The buffs listed are minor and don't address the class's real problems: poor survivability due to defensive slots being taken by offensive uniques (Cesme's pants, for example), sluggish mobility, and clunky gameplay.
Changes in Season 15:
Small buffs to Blight and Grim Harvest.
Soul Rift buffed (~50x multiplier).
Bone Buffs (Bone Spear, Bone Spirit).
No fixes to mobility or the "stuck on every rock" issue.
Survivability problems remain unaddressed.
Best Builds for Season 15:
Blood Wave Necromancer (best Necro build even with scaling gone)
Minion Necromancer
Bone Spear Necromancer
Bone Spirit Necromancer
Golem Summoner Necromancer
Blood Surge Necromancer

Diablo 4 Season 15 Class Balance Winners and Losers
Winners
Warlock - The biggest winner. Most buffs, less clunky gameplay, cast-while-moving on multiple skills. Top potential builds: Apocalypse, Blazing Scream, Lunatic.
Rogue - Already doing 150 and only got buffs. Poison RoA and Poison Pen Shot leap ahead; Azurewrath nerf hurts Freeze RoA.
Middle
Barbarian - Still one of the stronger classes despite many nerfs. Charge for pushing, Whirlwind for farming, HotA now playable.
Sorcerer - Top Fire build (GIGA nerfed) still gets Splinter buffs. Firewall keeps more buffs than nerfs on net.
Spiritborn - Tzic Rune still bugged for free x500%, but Swarm nerfed by 50% (offset by DoT Shard x2).
Losers
Necromancer - Buffed but not enough. Blood Wave and Minions remain the go-to.
Paladin - Nice Judgment buffs but not enough overall. Judgment may be the sleeper pick with massive single-target buffs.
Druid - Storm Shepherd Set nerfed into the ground, Earth nerfed, Perma-Dash Wolf Set nerfed. Landslide and Earthspike are the survivors.
Season 15 is looking like a season of contrasts. On one hand, we have exciting new content with Challenge Dungeons, Overland Ambushes, 10 Legacy Uniques from previous Diablo titles, and long-awaited quality-of-life features like Rebirth and the Horadric Post. On the other hand, the class balance changes feel uneven, with Warlocks and Rogues pulling ahead while Necromancers, Sorcerers, and Spiritborn continue to struggle with unaddressed class-wide issues.
The Soul Splinter system will provide roughly a 2x power boost to most builds once you have the full set of high-tier gems socketed, which helps lift weaker builds into Torment 12 viability. The reworked Mythic crafting system with the 1:1 Horadric Cube upgrade is a welcome change, giving players real control over that one build-defining item.
With BlizzCon still to come on September 12th-13th, we can expect additional reveals before Season 15 goes live on September 15th. Personal speculation from the community suggests a potential mercenary rework may be on the way, given how some of the Legacy Uniques (like Nemesis Bracers) were traditionally used in Diablo 3 through mercenaries.
Get your builds ready, decide which class fits your playstyle, and prepare for one of the busiest loot pools Diablo 4 has ever seen. See you in Sanctuary.
