Diablo 4 Season 14 Best Class & Builds Tier List (3.1 PTR)

The Season 14 PTR has been live for several days now, giving testers plenty of time to push the new tower leaderboards, experiment with mythic item upgrades, and form solid opinions on where each class lands. With the live season launching on June 30th, roughly three weeks away, this is the perfect window to look at what's performing well, what's struggling, and which builds are climbing to the top of the charts. Our updated Diablo 4 Season 14 Tier List combines extensive PTR testing, current leaderboard data, and community feedback to give you a clear picture of the upcoming Season 14 meta.

Updated on June 8th, 2026, based on changes to the testing in 3.1 PTR!

Diablo 4 Season 14 Tier List - Best Class Ranking for 3.1 PTR

Season 14 brings a mixed bag of direct nerfs, indirect changes, and new mythic item upgrades that reshape how every class performs. Resolve stacking has been hit hard, with the maximum damage reduction now capped at 40%, leaving many classes feeling much squishier than before. Several core items have been adjusted, including the Air of Perdition losing its dominant slot pressure, the Seroon rune no longer granting vulnerable application, and Glenn's Anvil aspect taking a heavy nerf. On the positive side, regular uniques can now be transformed into mythic versions, which delivers a sizable power boost across the board. Some classes adapted well to these shifts, while others were left scrambling to fill defensive gaps.

Below, we are going to sort out the new ranking list of each class with the meta builds to test in the 3.1 PTR based on the patch notes!

1. Rogue (S Tier)

Rogue sits comfortably at the top of the Season 14 PTR meta. Most builds carried over with very little disruption, and the class continues to dominate both the pit and the tower leaderboards. Even setting aside the current bug situation, ranged Rogue builds remain extremely strong, with poison and ranged options leading the charge. The variety here is impressive, offering completely different playstyles while keeping competitive power levels across the board.

Changes To Rogue:

  • A scaling bug tied to Penetrating Shot with Shadow Shot and Death Trap is producing 150 clears on the leaderboard, which will almost certainly be patched before launch.

  • The Flurry helm became more attractive now that losing the Air of Perdition no longer feels as punishing.

  • Bug fixes are still pending for items like Beastfall Boots not working with Rain of Arrows, which could open up even more builds.

Best Rogue Builds for Season 14:

  • Death Trap Rogue (currently bugged, S+ tier)

  • Poison Penetrating Shot Rogue

  • Dance of Knives Rogue

  • Twisting Blades Rogue

  • Poison Flurry Rogue

  • Dash Rogue

  • Aerostorm Rogue builds

2. Barbarian (S Tier)

Despite being nerfed both directly and indirectly, Barbarian remains one of the strongest classes on the PTR. The leaderboards show two full pages of high clears reaching close to pit 140, with multiple competitive builds across different playstyles. Even the gem strength reduction, which hit Barbarian the hardest, hasn't pushed it out of contention. The class has plenty going for it, including new mythic upgrades to staples like Gohr's Devastating Grasp at 117%.

Changes To Barb:

  • Starless Skies and Air of Perdition lost their crit chance contributions, but the Grandfather now provides crit chance, keeping Barbarian crit-capping relatively easy.

  • The Cernyx helm serves as a solid alternative to the now-gutted Air of Perdition.

  • Direct buffs went to Ancient Singer, Rend, and Charge.

  • Squishiness can be an issue since many builds are locked into the Chained Scorch Mail pants, limiting defensive aspect slots

Best Barbarian Builds for Season 14:

  • Call of the Ancients Barb (Ancient Singer / Summoner Barb) — top push at 137+ pit

  • Whirlwind Barb (Freeze variant for push, still capable of 140)

  • Rend Leap Bleed Barb

  • Charge Barb (pants buffed)

  • HotA Barb (iconic solid choice)

  • Iron Maelstrom Barb (300T+ damage with crazy cooldown resets)

  • Double Swing Twister Barb

  • Flame Charge Barb

3. Druid (A Tier)

Druid sits in a surprisingly healthy spot, even with the loss of resolve stacking that carried Companion Druid throughout Season 13. The Storm set received a nice upgrade, and there's finally a fresh top build to dive into. Druid also benefits from having access to alternative defensive layers like Disobedience and Galen's Birthright with Cyclone Armor, so survivability holds up better than most classes facing the same nerfs.

Changes To Druid:

  • The Storm set was buffed, directly empowering Shred and Tornado builds.

  • The Basilisk aspect received a nice buff, helping Earth and Bear builds considerably.

  • Companion Druid was hit hard: Shepherd's aspect dropped from 13% to 3%, and the Seroon nerf removes their vulnerable generation.

  • The Glenn's Anvil nerf hurts, but Druid handles it better than most.

Best Druid Builds for Season 14:

  • Lightning Shred Druid (top option at 133-135+ pit clears with Waxing Gibbous)

  • Werenado Druid (135+ with great AoE)

  • Landslide / Petrify Earth Druid (using mythic Basilisk)

  • Tornado Druid (fast and fluid with cooldown reduction)

  • Companion Druid (still functional, just no longer dominant)

4. Sorcerer (A Tier)

Sorcerer takes a step back from its Season 13 god-tier status, but it remains a balanced and very fast class with strong variety. Unstable Currents lost its grip on the meta, opening the door for fire damage-over-time builds and Hydra to come back into relevance. The Threefold Charm set is so dominant that almost every Sorcerer build leans on it, which some players see as a problem.

Changes To Sorc:

  • Firewall and fire DoT builds got a major lift, especially with the Firestorm helm offering a great alternative to Air of Perdition.

  • A new mythic item grants 65% damage reduction on teleport, dramatically boosting survivability.

  • Frost builds remain underrepresented and could use some love.

  • Unstable Currents took a clear hit but should still be competitive.

Best Sorc Builds for Season 14:

  • Firewall DoT Sorc (hitting tens of trillions of damage)

  • Fireball Sorc (main pushing option)

  • Hydra Sorc (exciting return at top clears)

  • Meteor Sorc (decent at 120-125 territory)

  • Ball Lightning Sorc

  • Chain Lightning / Crackle Sorc builds

5. Spiritborn (B Tier)

Spiritborn finds itself in a frustrating position. The class is still strong, but it's almost entirely carried by one build, the Counter Swarm setup using Pestilent Swarm and Evade mechanics. Most of the bugs around tag interactions weren't fixed in the PTR, which holds back a lot of potential variety. If you enjoy the Counter Swarm playstyle, you'll have a great time, but the rest of the class feels weaker and slower compared to last season.

Changes To Spiritborn:

  • Rushing Claw was heavily nerfed, removing the four-charge refill through Ferocity, and Evasive Swipe no longer counts as an evade.

  • The Glenn's Anvil nerf hits Spirit Born survivability hard with no clear alternative.

  • The Counter Swarm build can still pull off 60-70 second pit 110 runs, keeping it among the fastest farmers in the game.

Best Spiritborn Builds for Season 14:

  • Pestilent Swarm / Counter Swarm Spiritborn (top build, still extremely fast for farming)

  • Quill Volley Spiritborn (blue or red variants)

  • Stinger Spiritborn (blue variant)

  • Ming Fist Spiritborn (decent basic attack build)

  • Rock Splitter Spiritborn (emerging option worth testing)

  • Payback Spiritborn (possible return for variety)

6. Warlock (B Tier)

Warlock is in a solid place overall, with most builds working reasonably well thanks to buffs targeting previously underused options. The class still suffers from a clunky feel that wasn't addressed in the PTR, including restrictive cast animations and demanding buff upkeep. On the bright side, the variety is real, and a new minion-focused build has emerged as a fresh contender alongside the usual suspects.

Changes To Warlock:

  • Apocalypse received nerfs but remains strong for clearing T12 and pushing into mid-30s pit ranges.

  • A new minion build using Metamorphosis for survivability is showing up at 120-127 pit clears.

  • No quality-of-life improvements were added for the class's clunky feel

Best Warlock Builds for Season 14:

  • Lunatic Warlock (potentially the new top pushing build)

  • Apocalypse (still solid, just behind Lunatic)

  • Minion Warlock (fresh and relevant)

  • Eviserate Warlock

  • Hellfracture Warlock

  • Blazing Screen Warlock

  • Dreadclaw Warlock (possible return)

  • Profane Sentinel (strong but awkward)

7. Paladin (B Tier)

Paladin lands in a concerning spot heading into Season 14. The class already had some of the lowest output in Season 13, and most of the issues weren't addressed in the PTR. Survivability is a major problem now that Glenn's Anvil was nerfed and resolve stacking is capped. That said, there's genuine variety here, and Zeal builds got some welcome buffs that could finally challenge Clash and Shield Throw.

Changes To Paladin:

  • Zeal builds received base buffs and look more competitive, with the mythic Red Sermon enabling fresh setups.

  • Clash was heavily nerfed and is rough to play outside of pushing or bossing.

  • Vulnerability generation is now an issue with the Seroon rune no longer providing it.

  • The class urgently needs output and defensive buffs before launch

Best Paladin Builds for Season 14:

  • Zeal Paladin (top buffed option at 116+ pit clears)

  • Holy Bolt / Judgment Paladin (with buffed Radiant Fire charm set, 122 clears)

  • Divine Lance Paladin

  • Hammers Paladin

  • Clash Paladin (still functional for bossing)

  • Shield Throw / Thorns Paladin (around 110 clears)

  • Zenith Paladin (potential to compete)

8. Necromancer (B Tier)

Necromancer is in the roughest shape of any class on the PTR. Top clears sit well below other classes, and the class lost both defensive power and damage with the recent changes. There's some fresh excitement around minion-focused builds thanks to bug fixes around Golem and the Desecration set bonus, but ongoing minion AI issues continue to be a headache. Buffs are almost guaranteed before launch.

Changes To Necro:

  • Many minion bugs were fixed, including warriors and mages correctly granting fortify, and the Desecration set bonus now working with Golem.

  • The Undercrown is a more attractive helm choice with the Air of Perdition out of the picture.

  • Minion AI is still inconsistent, with summons reverting to random behavior after commands.

  • Survivability is a serious problem since most Necromancer builds wear armor uniques that leave no room for defensive aspects.

Best Necro Builds for Season 14:

  • Minion / Golem Necro with Army of the Dead (top option at 120 pit clears)

  • Blood Wave Necro (still relevant at 128 with minimal changes)

  • Skeleton Mages Necro variants

Diablo 4 Season 14 Build Tier List (3.1 PTR)

Now that we've covered class rankings, let's rank the individual builds tested across all classes. This list combines pushing potential, smoothness, and overall viability for Season 14

1. Death Trap Rogue (S+ Tier)

This build is currently producing 150 clears thanks to a scaling bug tied to Penetrating Shot and Shadow Shot. The infinite damage scaling is comically strong, one-shotting everything in pit 150. Expect this to be fixed before launch, but right now it's the clear top performer on the PTR.

2. Ancient Singer Barbarian (S Tier)

The Call of the Ancients summoner Barbarian remains the top legitimate push option in the game. It produces the highest DPS on Barbarian, though it requires spamming many skills to maintain. The build pulls a 137+ pit clear and has been the dominant Barbarian setup since Season 13.

3. Whirlwind Barbarian (Freeze Variant) (S Tier)

The Freeze Whirlwind setup is the best overall Barbarian build for pushing, still capable of pit 140 clears even after the nerfs. It pairs incredibly well with the new Cernyx helm replacing the gutted Air of Perdition. While not topping Ancient Singer for pure DPS, the smoothness and AoE make it a fan favorite.

4. Poison Penetrating Shot Rogue (S Tier)

Even with a slight nerf, this build is still putting out over 400 trillion DPS. It remains one of the most reliable ranged options and a top push contender outside of the bugged Death Trap setup. The synergy between poison DoT scaling and the Pen Shot helm is unbeaten in the ranged space.

5. Shred Druid (S Tier)

The Lightning Shred Druid build hits pit 135 with excellent speed clear potential. The Storm set buffs combined with the Waxing Gibbous mythic make it the new top Druid option, replacing Companion Druid as the go-to choice.

6. Werenado Druid (S Tier)

Another Druid favorite hitting pit 135 with great AoE coverage. The Tornado-based playstyle gets a fresh boost from the upgraded Storm set, and the bouncing movement keeps the build feeling fast and fluid.

7. Rend Leap Bleed Barbarian (S Tier)

This DoT build is hitting 10Q+ damage and benefits from not relying on crits, so it loses less from the Air of Perdition nerf. The Leap-triggered Rend playstyle pairs beautifully with the new season theme rifts.

8. Charge Barbarian (A Tier)

The pants got buffed and the build now produces solid 1Q+ DPS. Charge is one of the directly buffed Barbarian builds in Season 14, offering a different mobility-focused playstyle for those tired of Whirlwind.

9. Firewall DoT Sorcerer (A Tier)

The burn-focused Firewall Ring of Fire build is dealing tens of trillions of damage thanks to the buffed numbers giving 325x burn damage. The Firestorm helm replacing Air of Perdition, massively increases the wall's size and damage, making this the new top Sorcerer pushing option.

10. Blood Wave Necromancer (A Tier)

This setup is hitting pit 128 easily despite shockingly minimal changes. It remains the most reliable Necromancer option for those who want raw damage without dealing with minion AI issues.

11. Lunatic Warlock (A Tier)

The best overall Warlock option for Season 14, expected to overtake Apocalypse for pushing. It maintains strong DPS while feeling smoother than some of the other Warlock setups.

12. Iron Maelstrom Barbarian (A Tier)

Hitting 300T+ damage with crazy cooldown resets. The build doesn't currently count as Weapon Mastery for third blade interactions, which limits some scaling, but it remains a top-tier pick for those who enjoy the rotational playstyle.

13. HotA Barbarian (A Tier)

The iconic Hammer of the Ancients remains a solid build choice, hitting pit 140 viable territory with its big single-target burst.

14. Arms of Arreat Weapon Master Barbarian (B Tier)

The Frenzy Amulet got buffed alongside the set itself, pushing this build into solid B-tier territory. It's a unique alternative for Barbarians who want something different from the usual top picks.

15. Double Swing Barbarian (B Tier)

The Twister variant is solid and benefits from general Barbarian buffs. Not a top pushing build, but consistent and fun to play.

16. Ball Lightning Sorcerer (B Tier)

With Unstable Currents knocked off its throne, Ball Lightning is still kicking around as a viable option. It's no longer the clear king of Sorcerer but remains competitive.

17. Apocalypse Warlock (B Tier)

Nerfed but still decent enough to free-tap T12 levels and push into the mid-30s. It's lost its top spot to Lunatic but remains a worthwhile farming option.

18. Thorns Paladin (B Tier)

The shield throw Thorns build sits around pit 110 clears. It received some address but remains an awkward, slower-paced option compared to the buffed Zeal builds.

19. Pestilent Swarm Spiritborn (B Tier)

The Counter Swarm build can still clear pit 110 in 60-70 seconds, making it one of the fastest farmers in the game. It's just no longer the dominant pushing force it once was.

20. Ground Stomp Barbarian (B Tier)

Has good Boots synergy and produces decent damage, sitting comfortably in the B-tier range.

21. Bash Barbarian (B Tier)

A serviceable basic attack option that doesn't push the highest but functions well for general content.

22. Upheaval Barbarian (C Tier)

The Hellhammer scaling is too weak, and the bleed component doesn't hold up. Needs major buffs to be competitive.

23. Kick Barbarian (C Tier)

While capable of 100T+ damage, the poor AoE coverage holds it back from being a recommended pick.

24. Mighty Throw Barbarian (C Tier)

Low DPS output across the board, struggling to find a viable niche.

25. Rupture Barbarian (C Tier)

Even with Ancients support, the DPS is bad and there's no AoE to speak of. Skip this one.

26. Steel Grasp Barbarian (C Tier)

Bugged interactions with the third blade prevent it from achieving 100% cooldown reduction, which kills its viability.

27. Meteor Sorcerer (C Tier)

Currently hitting only around 1T per hit without sanctification, which is far too weak for the current PTR meta. Needs buffs to be considered viable.

To wrap things up, the current ranking puts Rogue and Barbarian firmly at the top as the two leading classes, with Druid and Sorcerer right behind them as strong A-tier picks. Spirit Born and Warlock sit in the middle thanks to their carry builds, while Paladin and especially Necromancer need attention before launch. Most builds across all classes feel slightly undertuned because the resolve changes weren't fully accounted for, so expect plenty of buffs in the final patch notes.

Keep in mind the PTR ends Tuesday next week, and there are still three weeks until Season 14 officially launches on June 30th. The bugged Rogue clears at 150 will almost certainly be fixed, and many of the struggling classes should see at least some adjustments. If you want to influence the final balance, hop on the PTR forums and share your feedback. We'll keep updating this list as more information becomes available, so check back closer to launch for the most accurate ranking.
