As Path of Exile 2 ushers in the highly anticipated Fate of the Vaal league with its 0.4.0 patch launching December 12, 2025 alongside the Last of the Druids update, the game’s build customization system receives a transformative boost centered on support gems, especially the exclusive Lineage Support Gems. Here we update the list of new PoE 2 0.4 support skill gems and lineage supports with their effects, and attributes.

PoE 2 0.4 New Support Gems

Based on the patch notes of Path of Exile 2 0.4.0 The Last of the Druids, there are more than 35 new Support skills will be added to the new season. Below is a list of confirmed support gems in the PoE 2 Fate of the Vaal league.   

1. Accelerated Growth

• Supports Skill Types: Spell, AoE, Trigger, [Plant]

• Requirements: +5 Intelligence (Total 5 Intelligence Required)
  

• Core Effect: Supports [Plant] skills, causing them to trigger an explosion after they have been [Plant|Overgrown]; Triggers "Accelerated Growth" on [Plant|Overgrowing] [Plant|Plants] created by Supported Skills

• Level 1 Attributes: Skill Level scales with the level of the gem it is socketed in; Cast Time: Instant; Critical Hit Chance: 10.00%; Deals 4-6 Physical Damage; Explosion Radius: 1.8 metres; Explosion Delay: 1.2 seconds

• General Rule: Place into a Skill's Support Gem socket in the Skills Panel to apply its effects. You cannot have multiple Support Gems of the same Category socketed within one Skill.

2. Bhatair's Vengeance

• Supports Skill Types: Attack, Warcry, Cold, Duration

• Requirements: Character Level 65; +5 Intelligence (Total 5 Intelligence Required)
  

• Mana Cost Multiplier: 110% (10% increased skill cost)

• Core Effect: Supports Attacks and Warcries you use yourself; Freezing an enemy with Supported Skills infuses you and your allies with Cold Damage for a short time

• Specific Attributes: When you Freeze a target with Supported Skills, for each 1 Rage you have, you and Allies in your Presence gain 1% of Damage as Cold Damage for 20 seconds

• General Rule: Place into a Skill's Support Gem socket in the Skills Panel to apply its effects. You cannot have multiple Support Gems of the same Category socketed within one Skill.

3. Echoing Cry

• Supports Skill Types: Warcry, AoE

• Requirements: +5 Strength (Total 5 Strength Required)
  

• Mana Cost Multiplier: 150% (50% increased skill cost)

• Core Effect: Supports Warcries; Supported Skills echo, causing their effects to happen again after a short delay, growing larger each time, but are less effective and require you to have travelled a certain distance before use

• Specific Attributes: Supported Skills become usable after you have moved 10 metres; Supported Skills become unusable again after use; 50% less Area of Effect; 40% less Damage Dealt; Enemies are considered to have 50% less Power; Echoes 2 times, with a 1.3 second delay; 100% more Area of Effect per Echo

• General Rule: Place into a Skill's Support Gem socket in the Skills Panel to apply its effects. You cannot have multiple Support Gems of the same Category socketed within one Skill.

4. Tectonic Slams

• Supports Skill Types: Attack, Melee, Slam

• Requirements: +5 Strength (Total 5 Strength Required)
  

• Mana Cost Multiplier: 130% (30% increased skill cost)

• Core Effect: Supports Slams you use yourself, causing them to create simultaneous Aftershocks behind the Slam, but lowering Aftershock Damage and Area of Effect; Cannot Support Skills which create Fissures

• Specific Attributes: 30% less Aftershock Area of Effect; 45% less Damage with Aftershocks; Causes 1 additional Aftershock ahead and to each side of the initial area; 15% less Attack Speed

• General Rule: Place into a Skill's Support Gem socket in the Skills Panel to apply its effects. You cannot have multiple Support Gems of the same Category socketed within one Skill.

5. Fan the Flames

• Core Effect: Spreads fire from Ignited enemies hit by Wind skills to targets behind them.
  

6. Advancing Storm

• Core Effect: Makes Storm skills like Thunderstorm or Tornado move across the battlefield and absorb ground effects.
  

PoE 2 0.4 New Lineage Support Gems

This Last of the Druids update also introduces 9 brand-new Lineage Support Gems, joining the ranks of these endgame-exclusive powerhouses that redefine skill mechanics, alongside a sweeping overhaul of existing options to balance and expand build diversity.   

1. Guatelitzi's Ablation

• Category: Sacrificial Offering
  

• Level Requirement: 65
  

• Support Requirement: +5 Intelligence

• Description: Supports Offering skills. Supported skills sacrifice a portion of your Life on use. While the Offering spikes created by Supported Skills persist, you periodically gain a Power Charge. When these Offering spikes expire, you regenerate a percentage of your maximum Life and Mana per second based on how long the Offering lasted.

• Effects:

Supported Skills sacrifice 25% of Life on use

Offerings from Supported Skills grant 1 Power Charge every 4 seconds while active

When an Offering from Supported Skills dies, regenerate 5% of maximum Life and Mana per second for the duration the Offering existed

2. Hayoxi's Fulmination

• Category: Cursed Ground
  

• Cooldown: 2.00 seconds
  

• Level Requirement: 65
  

• Support Requirement: +5 Intelligence

• Description: Supports Curse skills. Supported Curse skills create cursed areas that curse enemies while they remain inside. These cursed areas build power and erupt into a column of light that deals destructive damage after a delay.

• Effects:

Supported Curse Skills create Cursed Ground areas

Enemies inside Cursed Ground from Supported Skills are cursed

Maximum of 2 Cursed Ground areas active at once

After 7 seconds, Cursed Ground triggers an Annihilation explosion

Instant cast

9% Critical Strike Chance

Deals 25 to 37 Physical Damage (6 hits over 2 seconds)

Impact radius 1.7 meters

100% of Physical Damage converted to damage types matching the Supported Curse Gem (Lightning, Fire, Cold, Chaos)

3. Xibaqua's Rending

• Category: Xibaqua's Rending
  

• Cost Multiplier: 115%
  

• Level Requirement: 65
  

• Support Requirement: +5 Intelligence

• Description: Supports skills that leap into the air and cause Corpses in the landing area to violently explode, damaging nearby enemies with fire.

• Effects: Supported Skills trigger Fiery Reclamation on landing

• Fiery Reclamation

Explosion deals base Fire Damage equal to 6% of the Corpse's Maximum Life

Explosion radius is 1.5 metres

Detonates Corpses in a radius of 3.5 metres

Unlike standard support gems obtainable through the campaign, Lineage Support Gems are rare, endgame-focused treasures that act like unique items for skills, offering radical effects that can completely reshape how players engage with their abilities.

Complementing the new additions, the PoE 2 0.4.0 patch delivers extensive rebalancing to the existing Lineage Support Gems. For example, Atalui's Bloodletting Lineage Support now grants 2% extra Physical damage per 20 Life cost (previously per 10 life cost), up to 40%, and no longer has a cost multiplier. This balance pass isn’t limited to lineage variants either: nearly all Ascendancy classes, 90 active skills spanning every class, and dozens of Unique items have been adjusted in tandem. With the 9 new Lineage support gems and 21 reworked options, combined with over 250 new passive skills to synergize with, players will find unprecedented freedom to craft builds that blend raw power with creative mechanics when they dive into the Vaal-themed endgame of Fate of the Vaal.
