Diablo 4 season 10 makes chaos armor the new chase items in the game and they are incredibly powerful. In this D4 Season 10 chaos armor farming guide, we'll be guiding you through the best way to acquire and maximize your chances to get the item you want in the slot you want.
Chaos Armor, or Chaos Uniques, are upgraded and alternate-slot versions of existing Unique Armor pieces. Chaos Armor versions can appear in five armor slots: Helm, Chest Armor, Gloves, Pants, Boots. Chaos armor is essential Diablo 4 item to getting the most power out of your character. Chaos Armor pieces are significantly stronger — their Unique Powers always roll at the maximum value, gain a 20% power boost shown in green text, and include at least one guaranteed Greater Affix. There are three main Diablo 4 chaos armor farming methods — each with different goals: quantity, guaranteed drops, or targeted slots.
The absolute king in terms of farming the highest quantity of chaos armor is farming reputation, so you can accumulate greater infernal caches. The key to this is to farm Season 10's Viz-Jaq'taar reputation as fast as possible. And to do this most effectively, you need a bit of a setup.
Setup
Smoldering Ashes: Have at least 8–12 unlocked from your Season Journey.
Max these Urns:
Urn of Reputation → +20% more reputation gain.
Urn of Chaos Armor → Guarantees at least 1 Chaos Armor piece in Greater Infernal Caches.
Urn of Chaos Nightmares → Makes Chaos Rift sigils drop from Helltide chests.
Farming Process
Disable Cross-Network Play in Settings → Game → Connect tab.
→ Reduces player density, meaning more Chaos Rift spawns for you.
Farm Helltides on the highest Torment you can handle.
Focus on Chaos Rifts inside Helltides — they spawn frequently.
Use your Cinders to open Helltide chests → get more Chaos Rift sigils.
If your area gets crowded and others are stealing Rift completions:
Run the Nightmare Dungeon Sigils (with the Chaos Rift modifier) you’ve been looting.
Repeat the loop:
Helltide Rifts → Reputation → Greater Infernal Caches → Chaos Armor.
Result: Fastest way to earn Vizjitar Reputation and tons of Greater Infernal Caches, which have guaranteed Chaos Armor drops when Urn of Chaos Armor is maxed.
Infernal Hordes are probably the best way to farm chaos armor in Diablo 4 S10. When you've collected at least 666 cinders and you can choose the Bartuc fight in Torment 1 and 2, and he has a good chance of dropping chaos armor and then in Torment 3 and 4. He is guaranteed to drop at least one. And there are reports of him dropping a bunch in one kill. So farming Bardock, it is a little bit slower because every wave 10 infernal hordes takes at least 10 minutes to do. It's the most guaranteed method for you to get chaos armor.
How It Works
Collect 666 Cinders → start the Infernal Horde event.
Choose Bartuc as the final boss.
Difficulty Scaling
Torment I–II: Bartuc has a chance to drop Chaos Armor.
Torment III–IV: Bartuc is guaranteed to drop at least 1 Chaos Armor, sometimes multiple.
The end chest (Greater Cache) can also drop Chaos Armor.
Tips
Can be done solo or in a party (up to 4 players) — group runs make it faster and safer.
Each full Horde run takes around 10 minutes, so it’s slower than reputation farming but much more reliable.
Result: Slower, but guaranteed Chaos Armor, especially effective for players not yet speed-clearing Helltides.
If you want a less guaranteed way to get Chaos Armor in Diablo 4 Season, but it will be guaranteed in the slot you want it for, the next method is focused on Helltides and gambling. So, Helltides, you can loot chests directly for the armor slots that you're looking for. For example, if you want chaos armor on your pants, you could loot armor chests that will only drop hands for you. These have a small chance to drop chaos armor, but it's one way to target farm. Same thing with gambling. Gambling does have a chance to drop chaos armor. Thankfully, the armor slots are less expensive than weapons or jewelry. So, that's another way that you can target farm your chaos
Method A: Helltide Chests
Open armor-specific chests (like “Chest Armor” or “Pants”).
Each chest only drops that slot type — and has a small chance to roll as Chaos Armor.
Ideal if you already have Chaos Armor but need to complete your set or upgrade one slot.
Method B: Gambling
Spend Obols on the armor slot you want.
Armor slots are cheaper than weapons/jewelry, so you can gamble more efficiently.
Chaos Armor can drop here, though it’s very rare.
Result: Less efficient overall but perfect for filling gaps when you want a specific Chaos Armor piece (like gloves or chest).
That actually matches the real-world average players are seeing — Chaos Armor has about a 1–3% drop chance from eligible endgame sources, but with no class bias, no slot bias, and no smart loot weighting.
Step | Approx. Chance |
---|---|
Drop a Chaos Armor item | 1 in 50 (≈2%) |
Be usable for your class | × 20% → 1 in 250 |
Be usable for your build (right Unique type) | × 25% → 1 in 1,000 |
Have good Greater Affix roll | × 10% → 1 in 10,000 usable drop |
