With this Diablo 4 Season 6 Vessel of Hatred Tier List, we rank each class from best to worst based on their performance in the Public Test Realm (PTR), focusing on their power levels, adaptability to new changes, and overall effectiveness in the game's toughest content. As well as we will cover the best builds for each class!
In Diablo 4 Season 6: Vessel of Hatred DLC, the class state is significantly enhanced with the introduction of the Spiritborn, a powerful new melee class that summons animal guardians, while all existing classes receive exciting new abilities to diversify builds. The level cap is reduced to 60, with a smoother progression into Paragon points, making leveling feel more engaging and meaningful. Gearing is more streamlined with the removal of sacred items, and the introduction of rune words and mercenaries adds new layers of customization and strategy. The endgame is revamped with Torment levels and The Pit as a progression challenge, ensuring that all activities remain relevant and rewarding. Overall, the DLC offers a fresh and dynamic experience, giving players more freedom, better progression, and deeper class customization.
Without further ado, here’s our ranking of all classes and best builds in Season 6!
1. Rogue (S Tier)
The Rogue takes the top spot in Season 6, primarily due to its versatility and high burst damage potential. The introduction of the Dance of Knives skill has completely transformed the class, turning it into a whirlwind of deadly precision. Combining this with a high Lucky Hit chance and fast attack speed, Rogue can now dish out consistent, massive damage. The Rogue’s ability to adapt to various combat situations and consistently hit the highest numbers makes it the most formidable class heading into Season 6.
Key Strengths:
Dance of Knives provides insane mobility and damage output.
The Victimized Key Passive is back in full force, amplifying damage through vulnerability mechanics.
New gear, such as the Air of Perdition Helmet, synergizes perfectly with the Rogue’s skillset, making it the most reliable high-damage class in the game.
D4 S6 Best Rogue Build Ranking:
Dance of Knives V Rogue (S Tier)
Barrage V Rogue (S Tier)
Poision Twisting Blades Rogue (S Tier)
Rapid Fire Precision Rogue (S Tier)
Death Trap Rogue (A Tier)
Pen Shot Rogue (A Tier)
Heartseeker Build (A Tier)
Andariel Barrage Rogue (A Tier)
Grenade Rogue (A Tier)
2. Spiritborn (S Tier)
The Spiritborn class is still largely a mystery heading into Season 6, but we think it starts off in a promising top position. With new Paragon boards, uniques, and runes being data mined, it’s clear that Spiritborn will bring something new to the table. Though, without full testing, it’s hard to rank it definitively, our early impressions suggest it has the potential to shake up the meta with crazy Paragon nodes and unique gear like the Herald Glaive. As an apex predator with an emphasis on weapon-based attacks and agility, the Spiritborn offers a blend of offensive and defensive capabilities. The class’s unique Spirit Hull system, which allows customization of skills based on the chosen Spirit Guardian, adds a versatile and dynamic element to gameplay. For now, we’ll consider Spiritborn a wild card that could easily disrupt the current rankings.
Key Strengths:
New runewords and Paragon boards suggest potential for powerful builds.
Plus 10 to all skills and other overpowered gear might make Spiritborn a top-tier class by the time Season 6 is fully released.
D4 S6 Best Spiritborn Build Ranking:
Poison Swarm Stinger Spiritborn (S Tier)
Payback Vigor Spender Spiritborn (S Tier)
Thorns Gorilla Spiritborn (S Tier)
Poison Centipede Spiritborn (A Tier)
Pure Jaguar Spin2Win Spiritborn (A Tier)
Razor Wings Eagle Spiritborn (A Tier)
Pure Eagle Spiritborn (B Tier)
3. Barbarian (A Tier)
The Barbarian claims the second spot, largely thanks to the new Mighty Throw skill and the Force of Nature Paragon Board. The ability to create Earthquakes and Dust Devils without pressing a single button makes the Barbarian both powerful and easy to play in high-end content. If these changes make it to live servers without major nerfs, the Barbarian will be a top-tier contender in Season 6.
Key Strengths:
Mighty Throw allows for ranged screen-clearing attacks, giving the Barbarian more versatility.
Barbed Carapace Key Passive introduces a new active Thorns playstyle, making the Barbarian more than just a passive tank.
The Force of Nature Paragon Board offers a double-dip modifier on damage, boosting both close enemy damage and earthquake effect.
Best Barbarian Build Ranking:
Whirlwind Thorns Barb (S Tier)
Earthquake Dust Devil Barb (A Tier)
Mighty Throw Range DPS Barb (A Tier)
Bash Barb (B Tier)
Metal Shards Steel Grasp Barb (B Tier)
HotA (B Tier)
4. Sorcerer (A Tier)
The Sorcerer remains a solid pick for Season 6, with new builds focusing on Lightning Spear and Frozen Orb. The Sorcerer excels in offering generation and conjurations, allowing for some creative synergies that make the class incredibly potent. While Sorcerer doesn’t hit the same peaks as Rogue or Barbarian, its consistent damage output and flexible build options make it a top contender in Season 6.
Key Strengths:
The Lightning Spear and Frozen Orb hybrid build is emerging as one of the best, thanks to the interaction with ritual runewords.
Sorcerers can take advantage of offering generation from conjurations, giving them a huge edge over other classes.
New gear like Blue Rose enables quadruple Ice Spike explosions, further amplifying damage.
D4 S6 Best Sorc Build Ranking:
Lightning Spear/Frozen Orb Hybrid Sorc (S Tier)
Chain Lighting Sorc (S Tier)
Fire Bolt Shatter Sorc (A Tier)
Blizzard Ice Spike Sorc (A Tier)
Frozen Orb Sorc (A Tier)
Incinerate Sorc (B Tier)
Ball Lightning Sorc (B Tier)
5. Druid (B Tier)
Druid has had a rough time on the PTR due to buggy interactions and missing gear, but its Landslide build from last season remains strong. The new companion passives and Paragon setups offer some potential, but the class still struggles with the new meta. While Druid’s full potential is being held back by bugs, it still remains a solid mid-tier class in Season 6.
Key Strengths:
The One with Nature Key Passive introduces an interesting mechanic where companion skills give a free passive bonus, making companions more viable.
Landslide remains one of the best builds for Druid, delivering high burst damage.
The Untamed Legendary Node boosts companion skills, though it falls short in the deep endgame.
D4 S6 Best Druid Build Ranking:
Lightning Storm Landslide Druid (S Tier)
Roar Druid (A Tier)
Companion Summoner Druid (A Tier)
Shred Druid (B Tier)
Pulverize Druid (B Tier)
Lightning Storm Druid (B Tier)
Wind Shear Druid (B Tier)
Boulder Druid (B Tier)
Hurricane Druid (B Tier)
6. Necromancer (C Tier)
Necromancer is currently in a tough spot in Season 6. The new Soul Rift skill and its interaction with the Unmaker Unique create some interesting, yet buggy, synergies, making it difficult to gauge its true power. The Affliction Key Passive also feels underwhelming, especially when compared to other classes. Until some of these bugs are ironed out and minions are tweaked, Necromancer remains one of the weaker classes in Season 6.
Key Strengths:
Soul Rift offers a unique playstyle but suffers from being classified as a damage over time skill, reducing its crit and overpower potential.
The Frailty Paragon Board helps boost minion damage, but minions are still struggling to be effective in the current meta.
D4 S6 Best Necromancer Build Ranking:
Bone Spirit Wave Necro (S Tier)
Shademist Necro (A Tier)
Soul Rift Overpower Build (A Tier)
Cursed Minion Build (B Tier)
Blood Surge Necro (B Tier)
Bone Spear Necro (B Tier)
Bone Splinter Necro (B Tier)
This is an early look at the Season 6 tier list, and things could change before the official release in October. As we await more updates, we’ll keep a close eye on potential nerfs and buffs. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the Vessel of Hatred launch!
