Diablo 4 Season 2 Best Barbarian Build - D4 Barb Builds Tier List & Ranking
The Barbarian is a melee bruiser class focused on dealing with high burst damage and crowd control. They rely on weapons like axes, hammers, and swords to deal damage up close. Barbarian is arguably hard to argue but arguably the best class in Diablo 4. Even more shocking is every single Barb build is a top-tier build in Season 4 Diablo IV. They're S and A tier only, so the worst Barbarian build in the game is going to be A tier compared to every other build in this game, simply because of how the kit synergizes with all of the new changes. With that being said, let's start talking about the Diablo 4 Season 2 Barb build tier list after patch 1.2.2.
S Tier
The best overall Diablo IV Season 2 build for Barbarian is going to be Hammer of the Ancients. It is crazy fun, and amazing for leveling which is one thing that pushes it to the top of this tier list. Because the leveling transition from level 30 to 100 is so smooth, you have to change very little from level 90 to 100 to make the build pop for the endgame. You can speed-farming nightmare 100s and one-shotting bosses in four-man groups with up to 300 million damage. Not to mention the new Malignant Ring which makes this build event better!

A Tier
If you have Uber legendaries like Shako and Grandfather on Whirlwind, it becomes just as good if not slightly better than Hammer of the Ancients. But that's a very high requirement of a build to be this good. Whirlwind is the fastest farming build in Diablo 4 because every other skill that you can use as a Barbarian to farm has to stop to kill enemies. There's some stop animation not standing in place, but once you use the animation, there is a pause there. Whirlwind is the only one that can keep moving through everything, one-shotting everything with that crazy high build comparison. But since it's so hard to get the build, we have to put it at A tier.
Double Swing Barb is teetering in between the S and A tier. The only reason double swing isn't as good as same with the Hammer of the Ancients is that it's slower on mobs. The fact that Double Swing has to cross-chop and has a very small range holds back. You can use steal grasp but the steal grasp animation alone is going to make it slower when speed farming compared to Hammer the Ancients. Double Swing has been the number one best build for Barbarians in pre-season, season 1, and season 2. It was finally overtaken by Hammer the Ancient simply because of the Banished Lord’s Talisman.
Performance-wise, it's going to be an A tier. Based on people's how they feel about it goes into the B tier since there's something with the upheaval animation. It gives a 1.2-second delay on that large sweeping animation that makes Upheaval Barb feel not good. We’re still going to keep it on A tier.
B Tier
Thorn Barbs is one of those builds that's a acquired taste. In theory, Thorns could have been the best build in the game. The issue is you can not kill mobs in a Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeon without stopping. If you could sprint through mobs and one-shot them with Thorns not including elites just all normal mobs, then this can be faster than Whirlwind. Because you're just running and it's the reflected damage happening. The issue is you couldn't do it without stopping. For D4 Season 2 Barbarian builds tier list specifically, B tier.
The changes to damage over time didn't affect the base of the Rent Barb build. Even though Rent is still overpowered for leveling, you didn't really get that massive boost that we thought we were going to get, so this is also going to be a B tier build for Barbarian.
Other Good Diablo 4 Season 2 Barb Builds
Brawling build uses leap charge and it does not utilize a core skill instead of a juiced up basic skill. This Diablo 4 Barb build is fine based on this season and how they utilize overpower, they're hanging in between A and B tier.
Death Blow enables a lot of the builds currently on this Diablo 4 Barbarian builds ranking, including Death Blow Thorns, Death Blow Whirlwind, Death Blow Double Swing, Death Blow Upheaval and Death Blow Hammer the Ancients. All of the other builds synergize well with Death Blow, they’re like a trash mob killer or elite killer and then Death Blow is the one-shot boss because you only need one aspect where if you spend a 100 fury, you gain a 200 multiplicative multiply onto your next weapon mastery skill overpower which is insane. So you want to use that you can throw on that one aspect with Death Blow to any build that's struggling with single Target which is why Whirlwind is so good then you just win.
