Path of Exile 3.29 Curse of the Allflame league introduces the brand-new Allflame Crafting mechanic, and Intangibility is its core restrictive attribute. This mechanic balances the powerful multi-outcome advantage of crafting and prevents infinite repeated crafting on a single item. This guide explains what PoE Intangibility is, how it works, and how to remove it.
What Is Intangibility in PoE 3.29?
Intangibility is a unique item-specific percentage attribute exclusive to the Curse of the Allflame crafting system in PoE 3.29. It is automatically applied to items after completing Allflame Crafting, with a random percentage value within a fixed range. As a restrictive mechanic, it is designed to limit excessive repeated crafting on the same base item and weaken the overpowered bonus of Allflame Crafting, making endgame crafting more strategic and risky. Notably, Intangibility is permanently bound to the item base instead of item modifiers. It will not disappear automatically with time or ordinary crafting operations and only changes through specific exclusive items or base conversion methods.
How Does PoE 3.29 Intangibility Work?
PoE Allflame Crafting normally generates 2 to 4 independent Ghostly Copy outcomes for players to choose from, which is the core advantage of this mechanic. After an item gains Intangibility, every subsequent Allflame Crafting attempt will trigger a special restriction: the item’s Intangibility percentage equals the chance to generate only 1 single Ghostly Copy instead of the normal multiple outcomes.
Then, Intangibility is cumulative. Each valid Allflame Crafting operation adds a new Intangibility value to the item. The higher the Intangibility percentage, the higher the risk of losing multi-outcome benefits. When the restriction takes effect, the crafting effect is equivalent to using ordinary currency directly on the item, completely neutralizing the Allflame Crafting advantage.
In addition, the Intangibility increment range is determined by the type of crafting currency used. Powerful high-tier currencies bring higher Intangibility growth, while basic low-tier currencies add relatively low Intangibility values, forming a balanced crafting risk mechanism.
Uses of Intangibility in PoE 3.29
As things stand, Intangibility has no positive bonus for players; it is a pure negative restrictive attribute with two core functional uses in the game ecosystem:
Firstly, it restricts infinite repeated crafting. It prevents players from repeatedly brushing perfect modifiers on one single best-in-slot base item infinitely, which maintains the rarity and value of high-end crafted items and stabilizes the in-game crafting economy.
Secondly, it standardizes crafting strategy. It forces players to plan crafting steps in advance. Players need to arrange low-risk basic crafting first and high-risk advanced crafting later, instead of blind repeated attempts, improving the strategic depth of endgame crafting.
Additionally, Intangibility serves as a crafting risk indicator. The percentage value directly shows the failure risk of subsequent Allflame Crafting, helping players judge whether to continue crafting, switch bases, or remove the attribute.

How to Remove Intangibility in PoE 3.29?
There is no 100% safe way to remove Intangibility in PoE 3.29. All removal methods have certain risks or limitations. The three mainstream effective methods are as follows:
1. Ducat Currency Cleansing
Special Ducat currencies (Tzamoto's Ducat) dropped from Charts and Voyages content can reset item Intangibility. This method has a strict 50/50 mechanism: 50% chance to completely clear all Intangibility on the item, 50% chance to directly destroy the item permanently. Players can also purchase these Ducats from other players in the trade market.
2. Recombinator Base Transfer
Use Kingsmarch's Recombinator for item recombination. This operation retains the modifiers of the target item and transfers them to a clean base item without Intangibility. The original base’s Intangibility will not be carried over to the new base, but the recombination itself has inherent failure risks and random modifier retention rules.
3. Awakener’s Orb Base Refresh
Using an Awakener’s Orb on an item will generate a brand-new item base. Since Intangibility is bound to the old base, the newly generated item will have zero Intangibility. This is a stable zero-risk base replacement method, but it will change the item base type and cannot retain all original base attributes.
