Conquest of Azeroth PvP Tier List - Ranking Best PvP Classes & Specs for WOW CoA

July 08, 2026 WoW Classic Guides

Conquest of Azeroth has completely transformed the World of Warcraft experience with 21 unique custom classes, dozens of new abilities, and entirely new approaches to PvP combat. If your goal is simply to dominate WoW Ascension Conquest of Azeroth battlegrounds with the least effort, this COA PVP tier list is for you.

Conquest of Azeroth PvP Tier List - Ranking Best PvP Classes & Specs for WOW CoA

This WoW Conquest of Azeroth PvP tier list is very different from raid, Mythic+, or leveling rankings because it's based almost entirely on Battleground performance, solo carry potential, ease of execution, survivability, mobility, and how much impact a class has in the hands of an average player rather than perfect endgame optimization. One important thing to remember: this Ascension CoA PvP ranking is based on current beta Battleground PvP up to around level 30, not fully optimized level 60 arena or endgame PvP.

S Tier

Knight of Xoroth

The undisputed PvP king. Extremely high burst damage. Powerful grip mechanics. Difficult to kite. Strong mobility despite being a melee class. Punishes inexperienced players instantly. Even mediocre players perform well. That's usually the hallmark of an S-tier PvP class. Its biggest strength is that it doesn't require perfect execution to dominate.

Felsworn

Felsworn checks nearly every PvP box. Unlike some specs that require setup, Felsworn can constantly pressure opponents. In battlegrounds, classes that can immediately create kill opportunities tend to dominate, and Felsworn excels at that.

Cultist

Cultist combines strong self-healing, excellent survivability, consistent damage and strong pressure over time. Even average players can generate tremendous value. Cultist isn't necessarily the highest damage spec, but it's one of the hardest to kill while still dealing meaningful damage.

A Tier

These classes are very strong but require slightly more skill, setup, or favorable situations.

Reaper

Many players would argue Reaper belongs in S-Tier. Massive survivability. Huge health pool. Excellent pressure. Strong melee dominance. The only reason it stays A-tier is because it hasn't been fully tested at higher levels.

Primalist

Primalist is likely one of the most complete PvP classes. Strong utility. Good survivability. Good burst. Excellent mobility. Multiple viable builds Many players overlook Primalist because it isn't flashy, but it consistently performs well.

Stormbringer

Stormbringer's ranking comes from its frightening damage potential. The channeling build currently hits extremely hard. The downside is requires proper positioning, more vulnerable than S-tier specs and higher skill requirement.

Runemaster

Runemaster is likely underrated. Strong ranged pressure. Powerful scaling. High skill ceiling.  Runemaster may become significantly stronger later at higher levels.

Sun Cleric

One of the surprise winners. Good damage. Great sustain. Difficult to kill. Strong utility. Many players expect Sun Cleric to be a healer-focused class, but its DPS PvP build appears extremely effective.

Tinker

Tinker offers utility, consistent pressure and strong battlefield control It doesn't completely dominate fights like Knight of Xoroth, but it always contributes.

B Tier

These classes are good but either require more skill or lack the raw power of higher-ranked specs.

Witch Hunter

Probably the strongest class in B-tier. Excellent utility. Strong crowd control. Good self-healing. Strong PvP toolkit. The only issue is that it doesn't overwhelm opponents the way S-tier classes do.

Guardian

Guardian is difficult to rank. Very tanky. Strong defensive toolkit. Hard to kill. Doesn't create much pressure. Doesn't dominate battlegrounds.

Venomancer

Venomancer is annoying rather than oppressive. DoT pressure. Sustained damage. Attrition playstyle. Doesn't immediately threaten kills. Less impactful in random battleground chaos.

Necromancer

Necromancer is solid.Good damage. Strong pet pressure. Decent survivability. Doesn't currently stand out compared to Cultist or Knight of Xoroth.

Ranger

Ranger performs well in skilled hands. Good ranged damage. Mobility. Consistent pressure. Doesn't have game-breaking mechanics. Relies heavily on player skill.

Pyromancer

Pyromancer is one of the most skill-dependent classes. Most Pyromancers are at the bottom of battleground scoreboards. A great Pyromancer can dominate. An average Pyromancer often struggles. That's why it lands in B-tier rather than A-tier.

C Tier

These classes currently struggle to make a major impact in battlegrounds.

Barbarian

Barbarian suffers from limited mobility, vulnerability to kiting and difficulty sticking to targets.

Starcaller

Starcaller isn't weak. It simply doesn't feel threatening. Other classes create more immediate pressure and kill opportunities.

Witch Doctor

Witch Doctor has utility but lacks standout PvP strengths. Compared to classes like Cultist or Venomancer, it feels less impactful.

Templar

Templar is the biggest disappointment. Templar just gets trashed on. Struggles to survive focus fire. Doesn't pressure enemies effectively. Underwhelming compared to other melee classes. Templar may improve later, but at the moment it's arguably the weakest PvP class in the ranking.

Bloodmage

Bloodmage was heavily nerfed during testing. Lower survivability. Reduced pressure. Doesn't justify its risk. Many players have abandoned the class after recent changes.

Chronomancer

Chronomancer suffers from identity problems. Most players view it as a healer. Very few players use it as a PvP damage dealer, making it difficult to evaluate. Until its DPS builds become more common, it remains near the bottom.

Conquest of Azeroth Best PvP Classes

  1. Knight of Xoroth

  2. Felsworn

  3. Cultist

  4. Reaper

  5. Primalist

These specs combine the things that matter most in battleground PvP. Kill pressure, survivability, mobility, ease of execution and ability to carry games. Knight of Xoroth, Felsworn, and Cultist are currently the safest bets according to this beta PvP assessment.
