Diablo 4 Season 13 Scattered Prism Guide: Drop Rate, Where & How to Get

In Diablo IV, Scattered Prism is a rare crafting material mainly used to add sockets to gear at the Blacksmith. Sockets let you insert gems into weapons, armor, and jewelry for extra stats and power, so Scattered Prisms become extremely valuable once you reach endgame gearing. If you're looking for the best way to farm Scattered Prisms in Diablo 4 Season 13.

What Scattered Prism Does in Diablo 4?

You use Scattered Prisms to add sockets to D4 weapons, add sockets to armor pieces and add sockets to jewelry. This is especially important in higher world tiers because gems provide:

  • Resistance

  • Armor

  • Critical damage

  • Vulnerable damage

  • Resource generation

  • Max life

Without sockets, you lose a large amount of character power.

Where to Find Scattered Prism Does in Diablo 4 Season 13?

World Bosses (Most Reliable)

World Bosses are still considered the best consistent source. Examples include:

  • Ashava

  • Avarice

  • Wandering Death

If you only want one efficient method, World Boss rotations are still the safest bet.

2. Dark Citadel

The Dark Citadel is now another important source in Season 13. This is a high-end cooperative endgame activity introduced with Vessel of Hatred.  The Scattered Prism tooltip lists Dark Citadel as a “frequent” source.  So if you're already farming Citadel bosses, Citadel caches, group endgame content, you’ll naturally build up prisms over time.

3. Initiate Lair Bosses

The new Lair Boss system is one of the better farming routes. Season 13 divides bosses into Initiate,  Greater and Exalted tiers .That means farming cheaper, repeatable bosses like Varshan, Grigoire, Lord Zir, Beast in the Ice is probably more efficient than repeatedly spending resources on Greater bosses.

4. Infernal Hordes

Infernal Hordes can also drop them, though players report inconsistent results. Infernal Hordes as a “rare” source.  Community feedback suggests:

  • Equipment/material chests can contain prisms

  • Drop rates feel streaky

  • Some runs give multiple prisms, others none at all

So Infernal Hordes are decent supplemental farming, but not the most reliable standalone method.

5. Mercenary Den Bartering

The Mercenary Den barter system can occasionally reward Scattered Prisms. However, Rarely found from Bartering at the Mercenary Den.” Most players treat this as bonus income rather than an actual farming strategy.

Diablo 4 Season 13 Best Scattered Prism Farm Tips

1. Prioritize every World Boss spawn

2. Farm quick Initiate Lair Boss rotations

3. Run Dark Citadel if your build/group can handle it

4. Use Infernal Hordes as supplemental farming

5. Check Mercenary Den bartering whenever available

Right now, Initiate Lair Boss spam + World Bosses is probably the best balance of time efficiency, material cost, and prism consistency.
