Diablo 4 Season of Slaughter has introduced a array of new endgame challenges, guarded by powerful bosses and unlocked via specialized sigils. Among these, Bloodsoaked and Bloodstained Lair Sigils are the keys to accessing these high-stakes encounters. In this article, we'll introduce how to get these Bloodied Lair Sigils and where to unlock Bloodied Lair Bosses for valuable loot and progression in D4 Season 12.
Diablo 4 Season 12 Bloodied Lair Bosses, Sigils, Locations & Drops
Bloodied Lair Bosses are stronger, harder versions of normal Lair bosses added in Diablo 4 Season 12. They only appear in special areas with higher difficulty and better rewards than normal bosses. All Bloodied Lair Bosses are unlocked by specific sigils. Their difficulty, loot, and mechanics change depending on whether you use a Bloodsoaked Sigil or a Bloodstained Sigil. Also, these bosses drop special class-specific items and guaranteed Bloodied gear.
What Is Bloodstained Lair Boss in D4?
Bloodstained Lair Bosses are the easier, entry-level type of Bloodied Lair bosses. You can only summon these bosses by using a Bloodstained Lair Sigil. Their difficulty is based on your current Torment tier, but it is noticeably higher — enough to challenge your character but not too hard. One clear sign of a Bloodstained Lair Boss is the +15 shown next to its name during battle. This number means the difficulty is higher than your current Torment tier.
As a general rule, Bloodstained Lair is about one Torment tier higher than your current difficulty. For example, if you use a Bloodstained Sigil in Torment 3, the boss will be at Torment 4 difficulty. If you use it in Torment 4, the boss will be at Torment 5 or near-Torment 5 strength.
Bloodstained Lair Bosses do not drop the highest-tier loot like Bloodsoaked bosses, but they still give useful resources, Ancestral items, and Bloodied gear to help you get stronger. They also let you practice killstreak mechanics, which are very important for Season 12 endgame.
What Is D4 Bloodsoaked Lair Boss in D4?
Bloodsoaked Lair Bosses are the hardest endgame challenge in Season 12. They are only for players who have proven their skill by finishing Pit Tier 100. These bosses are much stronger than Bloodstained ones. They test even the best-built characters, though recent nerfs have made them easier for players with decent gear. You can recognize them by the +35 next to their name. This means they are balanced at about Torment 7 difficulty. The +35 modifier gives the boss much more health, much higher damage, and better defense.
Bloodsoaked Lair Bosses are not shared across all characters. Beating Pit Tier 100 on one character only unlocks Bloodsoaked Sigils for that character only. You must complete Pit Tier 100 again on every new character to use these bosses.
One Bloodsoaked Lair Boss usually drops about half an inventory of Ancestral, Legendary, and Unique items — including rare class-specific uniques like Butcher's Cleaver, Rustbitten Dirk.
What Is Bloodstained Lair Sigil?
Bloodstained Lair Sigils are rare consumable items added in Season 12. They are the only way to open Bloodstained Lair Bosses. These sigils have the Bloodstained affix in yellow text and only drop for characters who have NOT finished Pit Tier 100. Once a character completes Pit Tier 100, Bloodstained Sigils stop dropping completely and are replaced by Bloodsoaked Sigils. They are not class-specific — any character that hasn’t finished Pit 100 can use them.
What Is Bloodsoaked Lair Sigil?
Bloodsoaked Lair Sigils are the strongest type of sigil in D4 Season 12. They are endgame consumables that let you fight Bloodsoaked Lair Bosses. These items come with Bloodsoaked affix in orange text, you can only get them after your character completes Pit Tier 100 or higher. Once unlocked, Bloodsoaked Sigils completely replace Bloodstained Sigils. You will no longer get Bloodstained Sigils on that character.
The main difference is difficulty:
Bloodstained Sigils give +15 difficulty
Bloodsoaked Sigils give +35 difficulty
How to Get Bloodstained & Bloodsoaked Lair Sigils?
The ways to get both sigils are almost the same. The only difference is whether you have completed Pit Tier 100. Any character that has not finished Pit or Tower Tier 100 can get Bloodstained Lair Sigils. And only characters that have finished Pit Tier 100 can get Bloodsoaked Lair Sigils. This rule is per character, not account-wide. You must beat Pit 100 on every new character.
1. Helltide Farming
The most reliable way to farm both sigils is Helltides. Helltides are special high-intensity events where you fight many demons in a cursed zone. To get more sigils, kill as many enemies as you can within a fixed time period to reach higher Killstreaks tier, which increases sigil drop chance. Killstreaks no longer reset when you change floors in dungeons, so it’s easier to keep going. Any enemy in Helltides can drop sigils, normal mobs and elites.
2. Seasonal Repeatable Reputation Caches (Brutality Board)
This method gives you one guaranteed sigil every time. Earn Seasonal Reputation from seasonal quests, Helltides, Pit runs, and endgame activities. Once you have 12,500 Seasonal Reputation, you can unlock all caches from the Seasonal Reputation Board. The Greater Bloodied Cache contains D4 gold, Fresh Meat, Pounds of Flesh, Ancestral Bloodied items, a Slaughterhouse Key, a Bloodied Nightmare Dungeon Sigil and a Bloodied Lair Boss Key (Bloodstained/Bloodsoaked Sigil).
Each cache gives one Lair Sigil:
If no Pit 100: Bloodied Lair Boss Key → Bloodstained Sigil
If Pit 100 completed: Bloodied Lair Boss Key → Bloodsoaked Sigil
