7/18/2025 11:38:46 AM

The 2v2 arena bracket is already shaping up to be one of the most fast-paced and punishing PvP experiences we've seen in Mists of Pandaria Classic. We got you a MoP Classic 2v2 arena tier List, ranking the best dps and healer comps for 2v2.

MoP Classic Best 2v2 Arena Comps - Mists of Pandaria 2v2 Tier List

Unlike 3v3, where comps rely on layered crowd control and cross-coordination, 2v2 in MoP Classic is all about raw efficiency: burst damage, durable sustain, CC chains, and healer-DPS synergy. Whether you're trying to push Gladiator or just climb the ladder with a friend, choosing the right DPS and healer combo can make or break your season. With so many viable specs in MoP, the meta isn't completely rigid — but certain comps are already proving to be undeniably dominant. Without further ado, let's dive into Mists of Pandaria best 2v2 arena comps.

MoP Classic 2v2 DPS Comps Tier List

S Tier

Arms Warrior

  • Comps: Warrior/Healer (any), Warrior/WW (double DPS cheese)

High sustained pressure with Mortal Strike, insane synergy with nearly every healer, and excellent defensive cooldowns (Die by the Sword, Second Wind). One of the only melee that can force cooldowns just by connecting. Pairs especially well with Disc Priest, Resto Druid, or Mistweaver Monk.

Windwalker Monk

  • Comps: WW/Disc, WW/Frost Mage, WW/Ret, WW/WW

Insane burst with Fists of Fury, strong mobility, Paralysis CC, and self-healing through Expel Harm and Healing Elixirs. Can dominate both in double DPS (e.g., with Mage or Rogue) or healer comps. The strongest double DPS spec in MoP Classic right now.

Frost Mage

  • Comps: Frost Mage/Disc, Frost Mage/WW, Frost Mage/Rogue

Best control spec in the game — with Polymorph, Deep Freeze, Nova, and Pet Freeze. High burst with Icicles and Shatter Combo. Wins through control and setups. Can peel forever, set up kills with nearly anyone, and reset fights.

Survival Hunter

  • Comps: SV/Disc, SV/Rdruid, SV/WW (double DPS trap cleave)

Most oppressive DoT pressure with Serpent Sting spread and traps. Freezing Trap into Scatter Shot = no DR CC chain. Constant unhealable pressure with traps on short cooldowns and incredible synergy with any healer.

A Tier

Unholy Death Knight

  • Comps: UH/Disc, UH/MW, UH/Feral

Massive spread pressure with DoTs and Necrotic Strike, good peels via Chains of Ice and Gnaw, and survivability. Struggles more than Arms or WW to close games quickly, but brutal when paired with Disc or Rdruid.

Marksmanship Hunter

  • Comps: MM/Disc, MM/WW, MM/Rogue

High single-target burst with Chimera Shot and Aimed Shot, great control with Silencing Shot and Freezing Trap. Slightly behind SV due to more predictable burst windows and needing to cast, but excellent with Disc.

Beast Mastery Hunter

  • Comps: BM/Disc, BM/Feral, BM/Ret

All damage comes from pets, so you can CC while dealing full damage. Bestial Wrath gives CC immunity. No casting required and can burst while in CC. Slightly worse than MM/SV in control, but easier to play.

Fire Mage

  • Comps: Fire Mage/WW, Fire Mage/Rogue, Fire Mage/Disc

Strong crowd control and big instant Pyroblast damage during Hot Streak and Combustion. Less control than Frost but more kill potential in double DPS setups. Mana-efficient and slippery.

B Tier

Feral Druid

  • Comps: Feral/Disc, Feral/BM, Feral/Ret

Solid bleeds, high burst with Berserk + Savage Roar, off-healing, and roots. Can cyclones for peels or kill setups. Can win via pressure, but less consistent than WW/Arms. Hard to reset fights if behind.

Balance Druid

  • Comps: Boomkin/Disc, Boomkin/Feral, Boomkin/WW (niche double DPS)

Big damage with Starsurge and DoT pressure, solid peel tools like Typhoon and Cyclone. Struggles with uptime and pressure in short games. Vulnerable to interrupts.

Subtlety Rogue

  • Comps: Sub/Frost Mage, Sub/Disc, Sub/Fire Mage

Best control rogue spec with Shadow Dance, Cheap Shot, Sap, and Garrote. Strong opener damage. Struggles in dampening and against classes with high armor. Needs a strong partner to capitalize on setups.

Combat Rogue

  • Comps: Combat/Frost Mage, Combat/Disc

More sustained pressure than Sub. Killing Spree can surprise kill people. Worse setups than Sub, but easier to play. Solid into cloth or caster teams.

Affliction Rogue

  • Comps: Aff/Disc, Aff/Feral

Spammable Fear, high spread pressure with Corruption, Agony, and UA. Very tanky. Strong in dampening games but has trouble surviving melee pressure without good peels.

Demonology Warlock

  • Comps: Demo/Disc, Demo/Frost Mage

Strong burst with Doomguard/Terrorguard and Hand of Gul’dan. Has stuns and interrupts. Fun to play and good burst, but easily punished due to casting and setup.

Retribution Paladin

  • Comps: Ret/WW, Ret/Disc, Ret/BM Hunter

HoJ, Rebuke, Burst with Wings, and Off-heals. Can bubble to secure kills or survive big goes. Gets kited hard, few mobility options, and dependent on cooldowns.

Enhancement Shaman

  • Comps: Enh/Disc, Enh/Frost Mage

High burst with Ascendance and Stormblast. Utility from Purge, Wind Shear, Capacitor Totem. Gets trained easily, not as mobile as WW or Arms. Needs a smart healer and clean setups.

C Tier

Elemental Shaman

  • Comps: Ele/Disc (mana drain), Ele/Feral (niche double DPS)

Lava Burst burst, good utility (Purge, Hex, Grounding Totem), strong off-heals. Too fragile and gets trained into the ground. No way to reset pressure like Frost Mage or WW.

Destruction Warlock

  • Comps: Destro/Disc (rare), Destro/Frost Mage (control-heavy comp).

High burst with Chaos Bolt, some control via Shadowfury and Fear. Needs time to cast, and MoP 2v2 is very fast-paced. You rarely get 2 bolts off without being interrupted or killed.

Shadow Priest

  • Comps: SP/Disc, SP/Feral (double DoT cleave, but weak).

Mana burn and pressure via Devouring Plague, VT, and Silence. Off-heals and Fear. One of the weakest DPS for 2v2. Can’t kite well, dies quickly, and low burst outside of 3 Orb Devouring Plague.

MoP Classic 2v2 Healer Comps Tier List

S Tier

Restoration Druid

Top Comps:

  • Arms/RDruid

  • SV Hunter/RDruid

  • Feral/RDruid

Incredible versatility — strong HoT-based healing, high mobility, and great crowd control (Cyclone, Roots). Heart of the Wild allows them to support with burst damage or off-DPS in 2v2. Able to avoid crowd control better than most healers thanks to shapeshifting and Displacer Beast.

Mistweaver Monk

Top Comps:

  • WW/MW Monk

  • Arms/MW Monk

  • Frost Mage/MW Monk

Best HPS per mana spent in the game. Dematerialize makes them incredibly hard to kill — essentially auto-dodging stuns and hard swaps. Can fistweave for pressure with Rising Sun Kick and Jab, offering both healing and damage. Excellent mobility with Roll, Transcendence, and Life Cocoon as a clutch save.

A Tier

Holy Priest

Top Comps:

  • Frost Mage/Holy Priest

  • Survival Hunter/Holy Priest

  • WW Monk/Holy Priest (for more aggressive setups)

Great burst healing and offensive control via Holy Word: Chastise, Fear, and even Psychic Scream. Can set up long CC chains with Fear → Chastise → Mind Control, especially when paired with Frost Mages or Hunters. Once dampening hits, Holy Priests struggle — they rely on winning before deep dampening. They chain CC the enemy healer and kill off pressure while keeping their teammate topped.

Holy Paladin

Top Comps:

  • Arms Warrior/Holy Paladin

  • Ret/Holy Paladin (Mirror memes)

  • Hunter/Holy Paladin

Very durable, strong burst healing, and can do real damage with Denounce, which also prevents crits. Less vulnerable in 2v2 compared to 3v3 due to fewer CC sources to punish them. Hand of Freedom, Hand of Sacrifice, and Bubble give them solid utility and clutch plays.

B Tier

Restoration Shaman

Top Comps:

  • UH DK/RSham

  • Hunter/RSham

  • Feral/RSham (rare)

Grounding Totem, Purge, Hex, Tremor Totem, etc. The issue? They get trained very easily — they don’t have strong mobility or tools to survive melee pressure alone. Also, low offensive contribution compared to MW or Resto Druid — no meaningful damage and minimal CC. Mostly by supporting strong DPS comps and hoping to outlast in dampening, but usually vulnerable to pressure.
