How to Parse in Ulduar for All Hardmodes - WotLK Phase 2 Ulduar Boss Parsing Guide

1/30/2023 7:12:17 PM

Ulduar has been out for about two weeks, you're probably wondering one or two things. The first one is how can your guild clear some of the raid bosses that you haven't gone down yet. What are the quick little tips for the hard modes that you might be able to utilize to be able to just get that boss down. And second might be how can we actually go about parsing in this raid. Some people instantly just start thinking parsing is so mean and so try hard, just enjoy the game, just play the game. A lot of us like to parse, so today we’re going to give you these two things for every single boss. We go over how to parse in Ulduar & tips for all hard modes.

How to Parse in Ulduar for All Hardmodes - WotLK Phase 2 Ulduar Boss Parsing

Parsing is fun for your own entertainment or if you wish to learn how to do more damage overall. However, these tricks to optimise a given parse are the exact reason, why it can’t be used to determine any players‘ value to the raid. Some of them do nothing to help your raid get through the dungeon, some of them even actively hinder progress. Here are the parsing tips for all hardmodes in Ulduar.

Flameboi

All you need to know is that you just need to use demolishers to do all of the damage. Just have your siege engine stay in one of their own corners basically, just downing some of the ads and you only need to use two of the demolishers to throw up people on top of the boss for the hard mode, and then just keep up the pyrite stacks from there it should be a pretty easy boss. This boss does not count for parsing.

Razorboi

For razor skill, it's only the damage to the boss himself that counts towards Warcraft logs. So you do not need to pump out DPS or use any CDs on the ads in the early phase 1. Just make sure you bloodlust and use everything you can to one phase the boss. Also note that the fight is around a minute to a minute and 30 seconds long, so use your CDs accordingly.

Fire Kangaroo

It's only the killing blows to the ads that count towards Warcraft logs, this means you should completely ignore doing any AOE damage if it doesn't increase your single target DPS. Also this boss is super easy, just ignore the ads come completely, tank the boss and just burn him down.

Robotboi

No one has cleared it on the hardmode. But for this fight, you should know that all of the damage on ads absolutely counts towards your parse. This means every chance you get to cleave you should be doing this and around 70% of your damage on this fight in a good raid will be down to the heart itself. So just pump the heart, make sure that you aren't wasting major CDs outside of it unless your guild requires that.

Assembly of Boi

For iron assembly, you should know you only want to focus the boss that you're actually killing at that time. If any of the bosses heal up to full, then all of the damage that was done to them just completely goes away on the logs. This means cleave is completely useless unless again it increases your single target DPS. The fight is around 3 minutes and 30 seconds to 4 minutes for a pretty decent hardmode kill, so just make sure that you're using CDs early, so you can use them again on the last boss. Make sure you already debuff and get dots up on the next boss you're going to be killing, it was right on transition you want to be in on your highest DPS rotation right away.

Wrong Hands Boi

Cleave on these little ads after you've broken an arm, do not matter at all towards your logs. But cleave to the arms themselves does, but only if you actually kill that arm. If you do a ton of damage to one of the arms and it does not break, then you actually won't get that damage towards your logs.

Crazy Cat Boi

For ironaya, make sure you are cleaving very heavily at the very beginning of this fight. All of the cleave counts except for Warcraft logs a couple days ago just changed it, so that the little ads that keep spawning do not count towards your logs. If you're struggling killing this boss, it's all about the pull, just use a shaman totem to pull it.

Ice Boi

For hodir, it's all on the tank, just pulling the boss away at the beginning and bringing him back at the beginning of the fight to group up a lot of the ads. Try to min max the lightning buff on your casters because they absolutely carry this fight and from there, just try to keep up the fire debuff and stay in the haste buff as long as you possibly can while continuing DPS the boss.

Lightning Boi

For thurum, only damage to thorum himself counts at all. So during phase 1 where you're either in the arena or the tunnel actually doesn't mean anything towards your logs. In phase 2, there is a safe spot to do the most possible DPS as a caster but you're probably setting up your biggest healers right here. You can reduce the chance of you instantly dying randomly if you're paying attention to sif where she's casting a frostbolt volley, if you have to eat some of the lightning damage, then use a CD or a defensive at the same time because of frostbolt volley and one of the lightning damages might go out at the exact same time and just instantly in one shot.

Tree Boi (girl)

For Freya, the only thing that matters until the Final Phase is DPS to the ads. Damage to the boss itself means nothing, so early on there's no point going in and attacking it, you're just going to proc some of your trinkets or some of your CDs and not have them up on the first ad phase. Make sure you're using explosives on the detonating lashers, things like sappers or grenades just for extra damage. If you want a pump, make use of the mushrooms, it gives you 25% extra damage and they last longer than the ad phase itself, so you can use them on two different ad phases and get a huge amount of DPS. The fight is around 6 minutes long so you can use your CDs early and you will have them up again. Maybe even a third time for Freya herself.

Mimiron

For Mimiron downtime between the phases is removed from the logs, but the fight is around seven minutes, using your CDs three times even if one of them is outside of bloodlust will be more DPS for you on average than if you are saving your CDs for bloodlust and only using them twice. Damage to all of the ads does count, so you can AOE quite significantly if your guild allows it in phase 3. And for the last phase, just make sure you're cleaving as much as possible and if you're struggling getting out of phase 3 for hardmode, one thing to suggest is definitely pushing the boss into the next phase and then clearing up the ads.

Vezax

For general Vezax, this is just a long fight. Don't waste your mana and don't take too much damage. If you're melee DPS or anyone for that matter, you can use your CDs very early because with hard mode the fight is going to be at least around 6 minutes long and you will be able to use your CDs all again. So blow everything right at the beginning of the fight and then do it all again whenever you're fighting the Animus or bloodlusting later or potentially you might even get 3 usages out of your three minute CDs.

Yogg-Saron

All damage to the boss and all adds counts towards your purse. It's a long fight, so you can actually utilize your CDs right away on the very first phase and you'll have them back up for the brain room if you're going to be the one DPS in the brains. Leave as many ads as you can in the last phase and if you have a very high sanity level, try to actually tank a little bit of the Gaze and continue DPS in the boss, just make sure you never go insane. But more uptime fighting the boss means more DPS in general.

Algalon

For Algalon, if you're struggling downing the boss, make sure that you call out every single dying star. Call it out by a specific number and make sure you have a raid-wide CD for every single one of them. It'll make the fight so much easier. From there, it's all about rotating tank CDs and having spatial awareness, it's all on yourself, have a few people just generally that are going to do the call outs and have your comms clear and you should definitely be able to down this boss. If you're trying to parse this fight, you may have noticed that damage to the ads counts towards your parse. If you're a wing after 20% after he phases, this will count towards your log and it's a way that a lot of people are going to get some cheeky 100 or 99 parse before everyone else realizes it.
