In Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 1 continues in full of swing, though we only have a few new World Firsts to hit 99 in Hardcore mode, many of the players are expecting the Ladder season reset now. So here let’s take a closer look at the end date of D2R Season 1 and the start date of Season 2.
Since Ladder Season 1 started on April 28, 2022, we now have several hundred characters who have reached the level cap of Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Season 1, namely level 99. This is especially the case in Softcore mode, the care bear mode of the game in a way. It's obviously more difficult in Extreme mode and we can also congratulate the Assassin, Necromancer, and Druid who validated their first L99 in recent days. Nonetheless, as we enter the third month of Season 1, more and more players are looking forward to the Ladder Season Reset and the items that may be added in Season 2.
So how long are Ladder Season 1 will last? The length of ladder seasons in the original Diablo 2 has settled at a cadence of roughly 180 days per season, but Diablo 2: Resurrected will not match that cadence and every season is confirmed to get reset in four months when the 2.4 patch was released. If Blizzard keeps their words, the D2R Ladder Season 1 length could be around 120 days.
When a season ends, you have until the beginning of the next season to collect items from your Ladder seasonal shared inventory and integrate them into your normal online game. For example, once Season 1 is over, you have until the beginning of Season 2 to retrieve D2R Ladder items from your Season 1 inventory. Any unrecovered item will be lost forever.
There is no official information yet on when the first Ladder Season 1 of Diablo 2: Resurrected will end. But based on the developer's previous commitment to a 4-month cycle per season, we can make some solid predictions: The Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 1 starts on April 28, 2022, runs for 4 months, and will most likely end at the end of August or even scheduled on August 28, 2022 - likely on a Sunday as is the tradition of Season End in Diablo 3.
Also, we have no concrete start date for Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 2, but we expect it to start towards the middle of September - Two weeks after Season 1 ended. This is because Diablo 2 Resurrected Season 1 will end at the end of August and a PTR usually runs for around 2 weeks before the new season, the D2R Season 2 also tend to kick off on a Thursday, making September 15th a realistic prospect.
And maybe Blizzard will follow the timeline of the Season PTR release in Diablo 3 - i.e. PTR testing at the end of the season, then we will most likely kick off Season 2 in a few days after Season 1 ends, then early September One of the days will become the season 1 start date.
Remember, this is purely speculation until Blizzard confirms the actual date. But for now, it’s a safe guess and gives you advance warning to complete the season’s journey and earn yourself a better rewards.
