7/12/2022 4:30:31 PM

This is a guide to becoming Darth Maul in Elden Ring, we're going to go over the items you probably came for first like the armor and the weapon, then get right into other options of stats and talismans, especially for early game, as well as how to use this build most effectively.

Elden Ring Best Darth Maul Build Guide - Stats, Talismans, Gameplay Tips For Meta Twinblade Bloodflame Build

For anyone out there that wants to get a little more villainous and Star Wars style in Elden Ring, the Darth Maul build is definitely for you, not only does it look really cool in action but it actually dishes out crazy damage extremely quickly.  So if you want to set up this build, keep reading to learn more details:

Weapon

Twinblade + Bloodflame Blade Incantation

To get the Darth Maul style in Elden Ring, you firstly need to use the Twinblade weapon and Bloodflame Blade incantation:

How To Become Darth Maul in Elden Ring?

Step 1 - To start off, you'll need to head to Seaside Runis and find the Twinblade, it is located down some steps in Dragon-Burnt Ruins, in a chest behind a door with no enemies around.

Step 2 - You'll need to grab the Bloodflame Blade Spell. For that, you'll need to explore Liurnia of the Lakes and take out this Specific Teardrop Scarab. It's located in the Northern Section, make your way over there and you'll see a scarab behind the church kill it and claim your blood flame incantation.

Step 3 - You apply the spell by having a seal in your left hand, then press LB/L1 to apply it to the weapon in your right hand. If you fight two-handed style, you basically become Darth Maul, making you a "force" to be reckoned with, but it doesn't make you invincible, so be warned. Using the Twinblade requires level 10 Strength and level 18 Dexterity, while the Bloodflame Blade Spell needs level 12 Faith and level 10 Arcane.

Eleonora's Poleblade

This weapon can be found by completing Eleonora questline which involves traveling to multiple locations to kill NPCs and talking to euro along the way. It's a long trek to get this weapon but if you have some help along the way, you should be able to get to it relatively early.

Armor

For armor, you have a tough choice to make,  you can either wear a Fia's Hood or no helmet at all to look the part a little more or you can choose to buff your damage with the White Mask - it boosts attacks when blood loss is in the vicinity, and considering the pole blade inflicts blood loss your damage will get boosted big time. Secondly, this choice is a little easier you'll need the black-feathered armor as it boosts jump attacks but thankfully it's basically a black cloak so you won't need to make any compromises here. For the arms and legs go for something that gives a decent amount of armor without causing you to fat roll.

  • Head: Fia's Hood

  • Chest: Night's Cavalry Armor

  • Arms: Preceptor's Gloves

  • Legs: Perceptor's Trousers

Here we have a mix of different armors for this build, we run FIA's hood which you get from killing Fia, and have the Night's Cavalry Armor chest piece that you can pick up by defeating some of the knights cavalry in the snow region and getting their armor, now pair with the perceptors arms and boots seem to be the most neutral and a good way to round off this Darth maul look.

Talismans

There are several different combos of talismans that you could have together to be able to provide the most optimal build for you:

Winged Sword Insignia - Raises attack powers with successive attacks

Assassin's Crimson Dagger - Critical hits restore HP

Green Turtle Talisman - Raises your stamina recovery speed considerably

Lord of Blood's Exultation - As you're going to be doing a lot of blood buildup and blood damage, this talisman is really powerful, basically blood loss in the vicinity increases your attack power

Erdree's Favor - Raises your maximum HP, Stamina and equipment load

Twinblade Talisman - Enhances the final hit of the chain attacks, although that can be a little up in the air sometimes as far as if you actually hit that final hit of the chain attack, if you note that you are hitting these consistently we would definitely recommend the Twinblade talisman

Great Rune

Melania's Great Rune - As you'll be dishing out a lot of damage very quickly, you won't have much time to block or heal so be sure to go for , this will actually heal you when you land hits on enemies.

Wondrous Physick

Thorny Cark Tear - Boosts successful attacks and keeps stacking after each hit

Flame Shrouding Cracked - Boosts the fire damage inflicted by the poleblade

Stats

These are the stats that we have for the level 100 darth maul build in accordance with using the weapon Eleonora's Poleblade. Here we started off as a wretch but you can always redo your points once you defeat Rennala at the Raya Lucaria Academy later in the game, so don't get too hung up on what class you want to choose in the beginning.

Vigor: 30 - Keep a decent amount of points over in vigor as this build will be taking quite a bit of hits as you get your combos off and you'll lose health pretty quick without some support

Mind: 20 - Mind is definitely a secondary stat however it is really good to be able to have a decent amount of points in there as well because you'll be wanting to use that blood dance quite a bit with this build, not only is it really cool to use and fits the darth maul feel, but it also breaks poise very easily and causes hemorrhaging if you can hit a full combo majority of the time. We also recommend having at least one of your flasks as a cerulean flask to accommodate for the use of the blood dance ability.

Endurance: 25 - Endurance is important for this build, but we find with the appropriate talismans and mindful approach, it's not as high of a priority right off the bat, you can always put more points into it later if you find yourself having a hard time managing it.

Strength: 12 - The base minimum required for you to use Eleonora's Poleblade, nothing we have scales with strength and it's not a key feature of this build.

Dexterity: 30 - Dexterity does have a decent scaling with Eleonora's Poleblade and is worth putting a decent amount of points into, however, we found more success prioritizing other points in other areas. The Eleonora's Poleblade does have a required amount of dex at 21, so make sure you have that in check if you plan on using this weapon effectively

Intelligence: 10 - Intelligence we have no need for this in this build as magic is not a priority so just keep it at whatever the minimum is set for your character

Faith: 12 - Faith along with strength is put to 12 to accommodate for personal choices and incantations, we need 12 for both blood flame blade as well as flame cleanse me which we found to be an invaluable incantation for many parts of the game

Arcane: 40 - Arcane the mysterious skill that rarely sees the light of day is incredibly important, arcane not only sets your discovery items higher which isn't super important here but still worth noting, but it increases the amount of blood buildup your weapon will apply on successful hits with the Eleonora's Poleblade, this is very important and it helps this build truly become the powerhouse.

Simple Darth Maul Build Setup at Early Game

We realize not everyone will be able to have access to these Elden Ring items we mentioned and we have some solutions for those who are just starting Elden Ring and want to get into this build ASAP, it's not perfect but it can still work for the purpose of the build:

we would recommend going with the confessor right off the bat, the stats aren't terrible and at the end of the day it has the exact thing that you need for fashion souls, so you're mostly choosing this character for immediate granting of that armor and the fact that you get a finger seal immediately, it doesn't fit perfectly but it is probably the best armor you can get right off the bat that resembles Darth maul.

Gameplay Tips

How does the build work: Once you've got everything simply cast flame granty strength and drink your wondrous physick. Once you use the skill on the poleblade, you'll land multiple hits, this will trigger your talismans and your crack tear, you'll inflict blood loss and fire damage which will activate the mask, the crack tear, and the lord of blood's exaltation, and the jump from the skill will trigger your raptors black-feathered armor, this will all continue to stack again and again until your opponent drops and you'll look pretty badass doing it.

Something to note for this build is that there are going to be plenty of enemies and bosses that you are great at killing and then there are going to be a lot of enemies that you are terrible at killing, but stand strong and remember to have fun. At the end of the day, you're doing a theme build and there are inherent challenges that come with that but it should be a good time playing either way. Enjoy the build and have fun!
