By selecting the right class, prioritizing key activities, collaborating with other players, and staying informed about the latest strategies, you can optimize your leveling experience and pave the way for success in the challenging world of Diablo 4. Here’s a comprehensive strategy guide to help you get to level 100 & reach endgame in Season 1 Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 Endgame Progression & Leveling Guide - How to Get to 100 Fast in Season 1 Diablo 4

How should you approach getting to level 100 or at least towards the end game as fast as possible in Diablo 4? Now there are two considerations, one is alternate characters and another is any future character, for alternate characters as long as you're not swapping over to hardcore when you're softcore or vice versa, you're going to have renown shared across all your characters, and going forward we're going to have the Fog of War uncovered, we're still going to have to go to each place in the map and find the waypoint to do the strongholds. But at least you have the campaign, finish your mount, any future character or any alt and for alts right now, you're going to have that renowned shared. Going forward though, you're going to have a limited amount of skill points if you decide to make a new character for the season only up to the point where you're going to have those alters and the Fog of War renowned. With that said, what is the first Season 1 Diablo 4 level 1 to 100 progression strategy, what have we been doing to try to get to those higher levels as quick as possible?

Diablo 4 Season 1 How to Get to Level 100

- So we're on a level 1 Sorcerer, a brand new character and we could easily sit up there in a World Tier 3 capstone dungeon and then do the WT4 capstone dungeon, your friends carry you through there, you just chill, find a normal dungeon, sit at the front while they clear and you can easily power level yourself within an hour all the way up to level 60 or level 65. If you want to skip a majority of this, then you could just do that. Assuming you don't have someone to do that for you and you're going to play solo.

- We're starting with all the different waypoints for the major cities and for Tree of Whispers. So the first thing that you have to consider is you're going to get 10 skill points and the paragon points, but those don't apply to little 50, so we'll ignore those for now. Which means you should immediately jump World Tier 2. Normally, it's not worth the additional time taken, but with 10 skill points starting out, we could easily max out arc lash, max out chain lightning and we can just use these two skills and basically one shot everyone. And that's what you should be doing.

- So World Tier 2 is going to give you a lot more XP because you're able to one shot everything. And we still need to unlock a lot of the Nightmare dungeons or dungeons specifically for our nightmare dungeons which means we gotta start doing our strongholds. So the first thing to do is go around the map and get your waypoints and strongholds. And the reason being one stronghold to give you really good XP, but more importantly is if you're not doing this, then you may end up in a situation where you enter the end game and you can't do a specific nightmare dungeon, you can't teleport to a specific town and that is because you don't have them unlocked. We want to avoid that, it's going to waste a lot of time later on because we'd rather doing higher XP stuff later on than sitting around and doing strongholds or waypoints. But we can actually do nightmare dungeons.

- So first off, you want to get the strongholds and waypoints out of the way. Keep in mind strongholds are based on your static level, so you're going to want to start in the Fractured Peaks and do the strongholds. We generally were able to do it at level 1 with the initial skill points, but you have something to consider, you don't want to jump into Cerrigar, Ked Bardu, or anything like that and start to do those strongholds over there because you're going to die, it's way too high level. So strongholds first, get the waypoints, start unlocking the map.

- After you've done that, you actually have the Tree of Whispers immediately, and that is because you do not have the campaign to finish. So we could start doing in the Tree of Whispers as soon as we start our character. You can absolutely do this if you wish, but we generally prefer the strongholds. But after we do the strongholds, we immediately jump in and start doing Tree of Whispers completions for the dungeons across the map, this is partially why we would like to go ahead and get our waypoint. So that we can actually complete the Tree of Whispers dungeons across the map. Without the waypoints, we're going to immediately stall our progress.

- Along with the dungeons, you can actually side note into some PVP zones, ideally if you're in World Tier 1, 2, you're going to avoid these scenarios because PVP zones tend to be impacted a lot of people. But if they're not, PVP zones can actually be a pretty good way to level.

- After you do the Tree of Whispers for a little while, you can start doing the capstone dungeon around like level 40. That's a pretty reasonable thing to do seeing as you have the additional skill points and you might have additional pieces of gear. You should be able to go ahead and do the capstone dungeon at World Tier 3 at around level 40.

- Depending on what class it'll be easier maybe even sooner, we've done the World Tier 3 capstone dungeon at level 35 on the Rogue, maybe even sooner than that we could have potentially, and if you're on softcore, you could die a couple times, it does not matter. Do that, immediately unlock World Tier 3 and then we're going to be doing this for the rest of our time in Diablo 4 basically, Helltied Zones and Nightmare dungeons.

- Anytime a helltied zone is going to pop up, you can do it if you need the resources, if you have a main character and you've been doing hellside zones on your main character, you may not be to do it on this character and that means that you could stick to nightmare dungeons. The way nightmare dungeons work is you want to go three ahead, it's the most important information in the game because nightmare dungeons are basically 80 to 90% of all cons that you're going to be doing post World Tier 3 with the buffs. And the ideal scenario is to do three levels above, people have mentioned XP getting increased as you increase your levels and that is true. However, there is a bonus experience that the game does not tell you at all. When you're fighting a monster, that's up to 3 levels higher than you. So usually, fighting a monster that's three levels higher than you is going to give you 25% bonus experience and then in addition you're not going to waste a ton of time fighting the way higher level monsters despite them getting you more XP. Usually about three levels higher is going to be that sweet spot.

Tips for Efficient Endgame Progression in D4 Season 1

With endgame activities, you can combine rewards to progress more efficiently. The things we want to progress are:

  • Nightmare Dungeon (Glyph levels, Dungeon tiers)

  • Renown Rewards (Sidequest/Dungeon completion)

  • Tree of Whispers (Extra rewards)

  • Helltides (Crafting materials)

To combine these, you can do the following:

- Check for Tree of Whispers rewards from dungeons you have not completed (mouse over red dungeon icon, look for white box icon on description). This will give you 5 Grim Favor and the renown + bonus exp for first dungeon completion. This is the most important since these dungeons rotate on a timer, so you want to get the ones that are up when you can if you can double dip bonuses.

- Do sidequests, Altars of Lilith, and Grim Favor events in Helltides. Helltides are mostly just running around killing enemies, and so you can complete these extra objectives while doing that.

- Do Nightmare Dungeon Sigils for dungeons you have not yet completed. This will give you the nightmare dungeon rewards, and the renown for first completion.

- When all of the above is done, work on renown or nightmare dungeons.

- For extra efficiency with nightmare dungeons, do a dungeon you have multiple sigils of. After completing the dungeon, portal out, use another sigil, and take the portal back in. This will place you at the entrance of a fresh dungeon.
