What is Murmuring Obols in Diablo IV?

Murmuring Obols is a type of primary in-game currency besides Diablo 4 gold, you can use Obols to purchase slot-specific gear, which is currently the fastest way to go full legendary on your character and to gamble for specific legendary aspects that you need to complete your build. Another reason why Obols farming is important in Diablo 4 early game is the fact that monsters are now scaling with your level, it will be crucial to understand how to keep your gear level and strength the same power as the monster levels because there is no way to return to easier areas, so farming Obols early and getting less experience per hour but way more legendaries per hour is key to safely play the game, especially if you're going hardcore.

What is the Obols cap in D4? During the Diablo IV beta, you can earn a maximum of 1000 Obols. And the max amount of Obols you can carry is limited to around 500. Do not carry extra obols because you will lose them. It is recommended to spend them efficiently.

There are solo and group strategies of farming obols in the game, and group farming is way faster than solo runs.  

1) If you are solo play, the first method to farm Murmuring Obols is running to an event that's as close as possible to town, so you have a short path, once you arrived at the event location and the event is currently active, you're just cleared pick up the Obols afterward and then port your towel. If the event is not available at the moment, the way Diablo for servers works is by joining you to a new server if you port back, you can just go back and forward until you find your server with a spawned event. 

2) If you group up with friends, you can even boost the strategy a lot and therefore you need to follow some rules first. Never reset a server while in a party because this will keep you and your mates in the same server and you never want this to happen, this is also the reason why you should never leave a party at all, not being in the same server is important. 1)Gear gamble

You can spend a specific number of obols to gamble for a random piece of gear that can be a rare or legendary rarity. Gambling is one of the best ways to get legendaries at the current stage. Below is the list of D4 gear you can gamble with different costs.

Cap: 40 Obols

2)Buy Whispering Key

You can also use your obols to buy Whispering Keys from the Purveyor of Curiosities, the key is a useful item used to unlock Silent Chests that contain rare and valuable loots, opening the Silent Chest allows for a higher chance to drop legendaries than normal chests. Each of the Whispering Keys costs 20 Obols.
