New World PvP Weapon Tier List Season 1 - Ranking Best Weapons for Season 1 New World 2023

There are a variety of weapons to use in PvP combat, but picking up a strong PvP weapon is absolutely essential, as it can greatly impact your gameplay experience and can help you defeat the enemy and secure as many victories as possible. Of course, while picking the most powerful choices in the meta will give you an edge, it’s important to utilize a weapon that fits your playstyle and that you’re comfortable with. The following best New World season 1 PvP weapons ranking tier list may help you find a weapon that is suitable for you!

S Tier PvP Weapons Season 1

  • Bow

It is clearly s category, it is the best single target weapon in the game. It is from range and it is absolutely explosive, it has some small AoE capabilities. You want to run the triple single shot builds, you want to run the pillar or the rapid shot, explosive arrow and penetrating shot, if you want to swap one of those out for something like evade shot, that is perfectly fine. But that is the absolute best build you can play on Bow, it is absolutely explosive. It is the best weapon to play against the fire staff.

  • Great Sword

Put this in the A category because it runs into the same issue that the blunder has. Now a lot of people will play the great sword with the great axe. If you are a god tier Greatsword, this is easily an S tier weapon, everybody is super squishy, you're looking in two heavies or even just like a skyward slash into a heavy and killing a lot of people right now. The problem is you have a ton of range damage making it very hard to get to your targets, you have to learn to position a little bit better, you can't play as super aggressive people clutched a lot on the hatchet and those people are really feeling the pain of the hatchet nerfs. People are basically swapping off the great sword because they just don't know how to play around not really having that three seconds of survivability allowing you to basically fully reset. Hatchet nerf isn't that bad but it is enough to wear with the incoming range damage a lot of people are having issues with it. So when it comes to the melee weapon, great sword is still the best melee weapon in the game.

  • Fire Staff

It is the best AOE weapon, so when you look at the weapons list, we have the best single target ranged weapon in the game, we have the best single target melee weapon in the game, we have the best AOE weapon. You have a ton of AOE damage, you have a decent amount of burst damage, you just have so much damage with so little cooldowns that you don't even need a secondary weapon, you can just play the fire staff with whatever weapon you want because you have so tiny amounts of cooldowns. The fire staff is absolutely crazy good right now.

A Tier Season 1 PvP Weapons 2023

  • Blunder

It received a nerf, it's just an A-tier weapon, it does have an innate problem right now when you go the light armor and even medium armor users. But when it comes to the armor, it's a little bit hard to get close with the Blunder right now especially in OPR, there's so much range damage that whenever there's just range damage even if it was something that's not very powerful, it's really hard to actually get to your targets especially if you don't have a Healer. We're going to put in the A category just because in a specifically still a very good weapon and is still very usable, has a ton of burst damage. But right now in OPR with all the range damage it is a little bit harder to get to your targets.

  • Great Axe

Great axe received a ton of nerfs. With the fortify change really hurts medium armor and because of that, every light armor user can basically burst you down especially the ranged weapons and you don't have that cushion of just having a Healer and being able to out sustain everybody, and you still get that huge burst damage like you're used to in the great axe, but it's a little bit harder to get to people. When it comes to the bruiser weapons, great axe is at the top of the list.

  • Life Staff

It did get a nice nerf this patch, but because of the damage changes, because of the fortification changes, life staff dies a lot easier, you are almost forced into going light armor and with light armor you are pretty squishy. It's going to be very important for you to learn to position a lot better on life staff, it's not going to be this class where you can just run around, do whatever the heck you want and be able to survive like it has been for a very long period of time. So you have to learn to position a little bit more.

  • War Hammer

Warhammer received a lot of Nerfs, it's a very good weapon, you definitely can use it, there start a ton of bruisers using it is still very good. But in the current meta, it's not really utilized nearly as much as the other weapons.

  • Rapier

Put it in the S category, Rapier has actually got a little bit of a buff in the way of the nerf to the hatchet. There are a lot of people going back to the Rapier, there's some pretty cool like spear rapier builds we've seen that are unkillable. But when it comes to the damage side of the Rapier, it is worse. It does decent damage, it's not really that terrible but we're going to put it in the A tier because it has so much survivability, because it has a stagger, it has a lot of utility, but it's not really a great damaging weapon.

  • Sword

Sword got a recent buff by the nerf to fortification because now if you want to go tanky you have a lot more defensive side of the sword tree, that's going to make you just naturally tanky. It has sort of the defensive side of the Rapier, not quite as much as the Rapier but then it has a lot more offensive capabilities of the Rapier, it has more survivability, it has a little bit faster range when it comes to leaping strikes, a little bit better than flesh, but it also is easy, it has the best tracking in the game.

B Tier Season 1  Weapons for PvP New World

  • Ice Gauntlet

Put it in B tier, there's not a lot of people trying to breach for it, people are starting to learning to play the heavy and opr, so it could be definitely an a category weapon. It is definitely still one of the best war weapons in the game.

  • Hatchet

It received a nerf to its defy death, it received a lot of damaged nerfs as well, not that many people were using it for the damage, people were basically just using them as a berserk CC, a weapon where you can get out of crowd control, survive for three seconds without being able to die.

  • Spear

Spear is a really weird weapon, it lost its stagger which was a massive nerf to it. It did get a few little chain like people thought they were going to go back to using it. It doesn't do as much damage as great sword, it doesn't have the maneuverability and the catch of the great axe, it doesn't have the CC of the hammer, so it's a good weapon at a lot of things, but isn't great at anything. It's not a bad weapon by any means and if you play it very effectively, you can be very good.

C Tier New World PvP Weapons

  • Musket

Put it in the C category and we can see a case that musket's going to move all the way up to S-Class. If you can get the ability to hit better with the musket, the nerfs to the fortification is a massive buff to musket.

  • Void

It's a great War weapon, one of the best war weapons out there. But with the nerf and with a lot more ranged, it's kind of like the melee weapon, same with the Ice Gauntlet when there's not as much melee, you don't need them as much. So it's definitely C category, but still a very good weapon.
