Lesser Eldritch Ichor is a special currency item in Path of Exile used to add a magical bonus called a Lesser Eater of Worlds implicit modifier to certain gear pieces like Body Armour, Boots, Gloves, or Helmets. When you apply it, it replaces the item’s existing implicit bonus (except for a special kind from Searing Exarch), giving your item new powers that usually improve your defense, life regeneration, or resistances. This helps make your character stronger and tougher, but the exact bonus you get is random, so you might need to try a few times to get the one you want.
No, you cannot use Lesser Eldritch Ichor on unique items. It only works on normal, magic, or rare Body Armour, Boots, Gloves, or Helmets. Unique items keep their own special bonuses and cannot receive these Eater of Worlds implicit modifiers.
Lesser Eldritch Ichor drops in all maps starting from level 68, but the exact chance of it dropping is not shown in the game. Some special altar modifiers, like the “Tangle Altar Upside Monster Lesser Eldritch Ichor,” can increase the chance of monsters dropping this item by about 1.6% to 3.2%. So, while it’s not super common, certain conditions make it easier to get.
The Jungle Valley map is great for farming because the boss only appears when you enter the arena, leaving good altar bonuses on monsters.
Choose maps with modifiers that increase monster pack size, quantity, and rarity to find more Eldritch Ichor.
Focus on maps influenced by Eater of Worlds altars, which improve item drops and altar rewards.
Use strong Scarabs like Gilded or Polished Ambush, Divination, Breach, and Bloodline Scarabs to add more monster packs and better loot.
Equip Atlas passives like Eldritch Gaze to boost altar effects and increase your rewards.
Always clear maps fully and kill rare and magic monsters to trigger more altar bonuses.
There are two main ways to craft Lesser Eldritch Ichor:
5xEmperor's Luck
1xThe Void
To upgrade your Lesser Eldritch Ichor’s implicit modifier to a higher tier using Orbs of Conflict:
First, apply Lesser Eldritch Ichor to a normal, magic, or rare Body Armour, Boots, Gloves, or Helmet to add a Tier 1 Eater of Worlds implicit.
Then, right-click an Orb of Conflict and left-click the same item to try upgrading the implicit to the next tier (from Lesser to Greater, and so on).
This will also lower or remove any Searing Exarch implicit on the item, which affects the upgrade chance.
Keep using Orbs of Conflict until you get the tier you want.
The bigger the difference between the Eater of Worlds tier and the Searing Exarch tier, the better your chances of upgrading.
After upgrading, you can use Exceptional Eldritch Ichor to add a stronger Searing Exarch implicit, balancing both bonuses.
