The Frigate Inductor is the single item standing between most Raiders and a Level 4 Research Station in ARC Raiders Frozen Trail. It only drops from the ARC Frigate, and the common assumption is that you need a full squad to finish the sabotage sequence before you see one. That is not the case. Solo players have pulled multiple Frigate Inductors from the round breach containers on the hull without touching the Cargo at all. This guide covers what the Frigate Inductor is, what it does, and a repeatable solo route that gives you four to ten container checks per raid.
What Is the Frigate Inductor in ARC Raiders?
The Frigate Inductor is a Legendary Topside Material added in Frozen Trail. Its item description reads "Can be used to upgrade the research station," and that is its one job.
Item Stats
Rarity: Legendary
Category: Topside Material
Loot category: ARC
Stack size: 1
Weight: 0.5 kg
Sell value: 7,000
Recycles into: 2× Advanced ARC Powercell, 2× ARC Circuitry
Source: ARC Frigate only
Why Players Want It
It is a required component for Research Station Level 4.
Research Station Level 4 is the gate for every Amplified Weapon perk research project.
Without it, you cannot run projects such as Beam Resonance Tech for the Equalizer or Drum Mag research for the Rattler.
Related Frigate Research Items
The Frigate Inductor shares its loot pool with two other new items that appear in the same breach containers:
Frigate Diagnostic Node: A separate research item also found in hull containers. Check out a detailed guide about Frigate Diagnostic Node uses and farm
ARC Data Module: Needed in the same Research Station 4 recipe.
Do not recycle an Inductor for its Powercells and Circuitry. The sell value of 7,000 coins and the upgrade use are both worth far more than the salvage.
How To Use the Frigate Inductor
The Frigate Inductor has one use in the game right now: the Research Station Level 4 upgrade inside your Outpost.
Research Station Level 4 Recipe
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Thermal Shaker | 3 |
| ARC Data Module | 3 |
| Frigate Inductor | 1 |
You only need a single Inductor for the upgrade. Any extra copies can be sold at 7,000 each or traded to other Raiders who are still hunting one.
What Research Station Level 4 Opens Up
Once the upgrade is finished, the Research Station adds 15 weapon perk research projects. Each costs 5,000 Research Points, asks for a specific ARC component, and includes a gameplay objective. For example, Beam Resonance Tech requires 2 Queen Reactors plus 1,500 damage to Vaporizers with an Equalizer in one round. Completing it lets the Amplified Equalizer deal ramping damage the longer the beam stays on a target.
Steps To Spend It
Complete the Sheltered Retreat Project to gain access to the Outpost.
Bring your Research Station up to Level 3 through its normal path.
Gather 3 Thermal Shakers, 3 ARC Data Modules, and 1 Frigate Inductor.
Open the Research Station upgrade menu and confirm Level 4.
Start the Amplified Weapon research project you need.
Knowing where it goes is the easy part. Getting one by yourself is where the real work begins.
Where & How To Get Frigate Inductor Solo
The Frigate Inductor can spawn in any round breach-and-search container on the ARC Frigate, not just the final Cargo. That is the whole basis of the solo farm: open as many breachables as possible per raid, then leave. Here is how to do it from start to finish.
Frigate Inductor Locations
Breach containers sit along the entire ship, and all of them share the same loot pool:
Wing vents: Four containers along the wing route near the back of the ship, the first ones you can reach after boarding.
Outer wing tips: One or two containers on the extended wings that lead up to the top surface.
Top deck walkways: Two to four containers near the backfire vents, usually guarded by a Hydra. The count changes every spawn, so check all of them.
Fire rooms: Two to four containers on each side of the top deck, locked behind a fire vent until the three coils in that section are destroyed.
Center vent shafts: A handful of containers around the three drop holes in the middle section.
Hull breach ports: Round hatches on the exterior ledge, reachable without going inside.
Cargo: The final loot, only available after every Power Core is destroyed and two Raiders lower the platform.
A solo player can realistically reach everything on that list except the Cargo.
Pick the Right Map
Not every map suits this farm. Dam Battlegrounds spreads the Reclaimers far from most spawns, so you often lose the race to board. Buried City and Pendola Pass give faster access to the drones. Since the Inductor is a Legendary roll, getting to the first containers before anyone else matters more than anything else in the run.
Recommended Solo Loadout
Two different approaches work here, depending on how much you want to risk.
Full kit (recommended for more containers):
Bettina at Level 4 or Amplified with four to eight stacks of Heavy Ammo
Hullcracker with two to three stacks of Launcher Ammo
Grappling Hook (preferred) or Snap Hook
Photoelectric Cloak
Two to three Barricades
One to two stacks of Stims and Shield Rechargers
Budget kit:
Anvil 4 or a Ferro shotgun
Barricades (non-negotiable)
A couple of Defibrillators
Grappling Hook
Lure Grenades as an optional extra
Skip the naked run. Free kits are disabled under the Frigate condition anyway, and a player with no gear can only reach a fraction of the containers. With real weapons you can clear a Hydra, turn off a fire vent, and open sections nobody else on the ship can access.
Step 1: Race to the Reclaimers
Sprint to the middle of the map the moment you spawn. When the Frigate flies in, read its trajectory and run toward the back of the ship, where the Reclaimers descend. Climb onto one, hit Disrupt, and ride it up. The Frigate turret will start firing at you on the ground, so keep moving. If no other Raiders are nearby, pop the Photoelectric Cloak so the turret does not pick you first. Heal and shield up during the ride if you took hits.
Step 2: Hit the Wing Vents
When the Reclaimer reaches the back of the ship, jump off and pick a side. Left or right does not matter, though most players drift right, so going left often means fewer competitors. Run straight into the tunnel in front of you and drop through its winding turns. The first breachable sits at the bottom of this section on one of the wings. Open it, grab everything, and move on.
Step 3: Climb the Wing to the Top Deck
Instead of turning inward toward the first Power Core, follow the extended wing outward. A series of vaults and clambers takes you all the way up to the top surface, bypassing the lower fight entirely. Along the way you pass one or two more breach containers on the wing itself.
This route is not a waste of time, and it does not hurt other Raiders. Players up top can shoot Hydras that are pinning down teammates below, so you are helping while you farm.
Step 4: Clear the Hydra and Open the Walkway Containers
As soon as you reach the top surface, watch for flying ARC and locate the Hydra guarding the containers near the fire vents. Drop one or two Barricades in front of it, then use the Hullcracker to destroy the Hydra without taking damage. Fireflies, Hornets, and Wasps will swarm you during this fight, so shoot them off before turning back to the Hydra.
Once the Hydra is down, two to four containers on the walkway become safe to breach. Some spawns have four, some two, some none. Check every spot regardless.
Step 5: Shut Down the Fire Vent
This section is why the kit matters. The fire vent shoots flames and wind. Stand in the wrong place and the wind shoves you into fire and then against a wall, forcing you to jump out and heal while ARC close in. Naked players avoid this area for exactly that reason, which leaves it open for you.
Wait for the fire to die down.
Run over and breach the first of three coil covers on the side.
Hide from ARC, come back, breach the second.
Repeat for the third until all three coils are exposed.
Destroy the coils quickly with the Hullcracker while dodging Rocketeers and Vaporizers.
When the coils go down, the fire vent stops permanently, and two to four more breach containers open up in that section. If the opposite side is still quiet, cross over with the Cloak and repeat the process for another batch.
Step 6: Vibe Check the Lobby
With both wings cleared, head toward the center and look down at the main core fight. Count how many Raiders are still alive and what they are carrying. Full kits with Launcher Ammo mean the group might push through to the Cargo, in which case you can join them. Free kits and dead bodies mean it is time to leave with what you have.
Step 7: Escape With the Loot
The Grappling Hook is your exit tool. From the middle section:
Move the Frigate Inductor into your Safe Pocket the moment it lands in your bag.
Drop through one of the three center holes into the ventilated area below.
Crouch at the back and wait for Rocketeers and Vaporizers to de-aggro and fly off.
Grapple down toward the bottom of the ship. It takes about two grapples and a quick roll on landing.
If a Hydra is still alive at the base, pull the Cloak and walk calmly to the bottom center.
Take the channel to the elevator section, drop down, and head to the back of the boat.
Grapple back up into the windy vents if needed and disrupt a Reclaimer to ride down.
Check fallen Raiders on the way out. Many players run the Frigate with free kits, breach one container, and die on the walk back. A Frigate Diagnostic Node or Inductor on a body in the street is as good as one from a container.
Step 8: Reach a Regular Extraction
Riding a Reclaimer down does not count as extraction. Look for the nearest exit while the shield is still up on the descent, since it changes on every map and can be a long walk. Use the Cloak once you land, because the Frigate turrets will keep lighting you up until you break line of sight.
Expected Results
Repeating this loop gives you four to ten breach containers per raid, plus the option to help finish the Frigate when a competent group shows up. One player ran it 10 to 15 times in roughly 90 minutes and came away with two Frigate Inductors and one Frigate Diagnostic Node, all without lowering the Cargo once.
More FAQs About Frigate Inductor
Do I have to finish the Frigate sabotage to get a Frigate Inductor?
No. It appears in the regular breach-and-search containers along the wings, top deck, fire rooms, and hull. The Cargo is just one more roll.
Can I get it on any map?
Yes, as long as the ARC Frigate condition is active. Buried City and Pendola Pass are the most comfortable for solo boarding. Dam Battlegrounds is the weakest option.
How many Frigate Inductors do I need?
One. The Research Station 4 recipe asks for a single Inductor. Sell or trade any extras.
Is it worth recycling?
No. Recycling gives 2× Advanced ARC Powercell and 2× ARC Circuitry, which is far below its 7,000 sell value or its upgrade value.
What happens if I die with it?
It drops with your loot and another Raider can take it. Put it in your Safe Pocket the moment you find it.
