WoW Forever PvP Tier List - Best PvP Class Ranking in Classic+

World of Warcraft Forever, also called Classic Plus, launches on November 4th with the beta going live on September 17th. With reworked talent trees, dots that can now crit, new abilities like Riptide and Penance, and buffed racials across the board, PvP feels faster, deadlier, and more diverse than any classic version before it. Some specs got loaded up with keystone talents that stack together perfectly, while others still wait for buffs. The WoW Forever Class ranking below sorts every PvP spec into tiers so you can pick the right class for beta and launch.

WoW Forever PvP Tier List - Best PvP Class Ranking in Classic+

PvP in WoW Forever leans toward faster kills, deeper talent options, and more viable off-meta specs. Warlocks now have critting dots, priests get built-in Fear Ward and Devouring Plague, elemental shamans finally have AoE roots through Earthbind Totem, and paladins get seals that generate threat and taunt. Burst damage matters, but tanky utility talents like Molten Skin and Templar's Bulwark also shape the meta. With that setup in mind, here is the full class ranking from top to bottom.

1. Enhancement Shaman (S Tier)

Enhancement is the undisputed top pick. Guzu absolutely destroyed on the main stage with this spec, and the reasons pile up fast. They get their own personal Bloodlust called Rage of the Farseer, they have built-in two-handed specialization, and Maelstrom Weapon delivers free instant Lightning Bolts on demand. The talent tree is also the most cohesive of any class, blending elemental and enhance abilities into one flowing kit.

2. Protection Paladin (S Tier)

Prot Paladin became a monster thanks to two fixes and one huge buff. Consecrate is now native to the spell book instead of a talent point, and Seal of Fury taunts enemies when it procs, so a single Judgement pulls a target onto you. On top of that, Templar's Bulwark grants an absorb shield equal to 100% of your maximum health for 8 seconds, giving the class a Shield Wall style cooldown. Unless Blizzard nerfs it, this will be the dominant tank in both PvE and PvP.

3. Restoration Shaman (S Tier)

Resto Shaman gets a modified Riptide that heals over 15 seconds and buffs your Chain Heal by 25%. Hot your main tank, then Chain Heal off them, and you become both a tank healer and a raid healer at the same time. Combine that with Healing Way, Nature's Swiftness, Mana Tide, Ancestral Healing, and the new Guardian Totem talent that buffs Stoneskin and Windwall, and you get a near mandatory pick.

4. Discipline Priest (S Tier)

Disc Priest got a heavy rework around Weakened Soul. Soul Warding reduces the cooldown of Power Word: Shield by 4 seconds, and Renewed Hope grants Flash Heal, Binding Heal, Lesser Heal, Greater Heal, and Penance a 2% increased crit chance on targets with Weakened Soul. Every crit also lowers Weakened Soul duration by 1 second, so you spam heals into a shielded tank endlessly. Penance and Power Infusion round out an insane kit.

5. Survival Melee Hunter (S Tier)

Survival feels like a Season of Discovery hunter with better scaling. Lacerating Strikes bleeds the target for 40% of your Mongoose Bite damage, Mongoose Bite can activate by attacking a target, and you get a built-in kick. Clever Traps, Predator's Edge for 50% offhand crit damage, Resourcefulness for more trap damage, and Lone Wolf all point to a dual-wield melee hunter that just cranks damage.

6. Frost Mage (A Tier)

Frost keeps its classic identity but scales better in dungeons and open-world fights. The kit looks especially strong for hardcore dungeon runs and gives you all the kiting tools you expect.

7. Combat Rogue (A Tier)

Combat looks like the strongest rogue spec thanks to Restless Blades and how Blade Flurry and Adrenaline Rush interact with Orc racials. Combo points now stay on the target when you swap, which is a huge quality of life upgrade for PvP.

8. Mutilate (Assassination) Rogue (A Tier)

The tried and true Mutilate build may end up being the actual winner overall, thanks to Mutilate itself plus Envenom scaling. Reports on assassination are mixed, but the ceiling is very high once you get gear.

9. Marksmanship Hunter (A Tier)

MM Hunter improves with Lone Wolf, Aimed Shot, and Barrage. The capstone gives you a bazooka style nuke that could one-shot squishy targets, especially as a Night Elf.

10. Holy Paladin (A Tier)

Holy Paladin will likely be your second or third best direct tank healer. Splashing some AoE healing on top of pure single target output makes them well-rounded, though not as loaded as Resto Shaman or Disc Priest.

11. Elemental Shaman (A Tier)

Ele Shamans finally get real CC. Earthbind Totem immobilizes nearby targets for 5 seconds as an AoE root. Lava Burst gains 10% increased damage on targets with Flame Shock, Lightning Overload procs a second half-damage copy of Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning, and Eye of the Storm now gives a flat 69% pushback reduction. Fire Nova becomes its own spell cast from the totem, working like a mage Blast Wave. Elemental Reach extends Flame Shock range to 16 yards, which is huge for keeping runners in combat.

12. Feral Druid Tank (A Tier)

Feral Tank looks fantastic with Berserk that strikes extra targets with Mangle, buffed Swipe damage, more dodge, and battle rez utility. King of the Jungle gives an instant 60 energy, and the removal of power shifting simplifies the rotation.

13. Resto Druid (A Tier)

Wild Growth alone is insane. The removal of buff and debuff caps also means multiple resto druids can now stack HoTs together, which was impossible in vanilla, so you can finally bring more than one to a raid or arena setup.

14. Fury Warrior (A Tier)

Whirlwind now strikes with your offhand and Cleave costs less rage. Warriors do not look overloaded on paper, but they always end up strong (remember Season of Discovery). World buff dependency is the one concern for scaling.

15. Balance Druid (Boomkin) (B Tier)

Eclipse promotes using Wrath to reduce your Starfire cast time. You get more damage and crit talents, but you lose the fun gimmicks like Starfall and Starsurge. It is the best classic Boomkin ever released.

16. Shadow Priest (B Tier)

Dots are now affected by critical strike, every priest gets Fear Ward, and Devouring Plague is built in. Shadowform reduces mana cost by 50%, so mana problems at level 60 disappear.

17. Retribution Paladin (B Tier)

Twist of Light gives a free melee attack with two seals active, so seal twisting happens automatically. You also get 99% spell damage scaling from intellect and 10% extra damage from Holy Strike with auto-refreshed judgements. Ret gains less than other specs got, but the kit is functional.

18. Holy Shockadin (B Tier)

Blizzard added 18% hit rating for Holy Shockadins along with Light's Vigil, which lets you shock a target twice in a row with no cooldown. A sleeper spec to watch on the show floor when players start experimenting.

19. Smite Priest (B Tier)

Smite Priests now have Penance for real damage and Power and Light, giving Smite and Penance 10% increased damage against targets afflicted with Holy Fire. Clear synergy pushes this into playable territory.

20. Fire Mage (B Tier)

Hot Streak now reduces cast time by 75% instead of giving instant Pyros. Arcane Blast and Missile Barrage push arcane builds forward, and a Combustion Fire build with Hot Streak procs looks great in dungeons and world PvP.

21. Affliction Warlock (B Tier)

Dots can crit, and Pandemic increases critical strike damage of Corruption, Bane of Agony, Bane of Doom, Drain Soul, Drain Life, Siphon Life, and Drain Hope by 100%. Curse of Agony is now Bane of Agony, so it stacks with Curse of Elements. Improved Drains triples Drain Soul damage below 20% health, and Drain Hope deals shadow damage while boosting all shadow DoTs on the target by 10%. Could climb to A tier once the meta settles.

22. Demonology Warlock (B Tier)

Demonic Pact lets you keep the Demonic Sacrifice buff after summoning a different pet. Sacrifice your imp for 15% shadow damage, then summon a Felhunter for extra survivability. Molten Skin reduces damage taken by 10%, Soul Link transfers 30% of your damage to the demon, and Demonic Energies heals your pet for 8% of your spell damage. Strongest warlock PvP spec for duels and open world.

23. Destruction Warlock (B Tier)

Shadow and Flame gives Conflagrate a 2% shadow damage buff per stack for 20 seconds, and Shadowburn has a 100% chance to instantly refund a Soul Shard. Aftermath adds a 100% Daze on Conflagrate, slowing enemies by 50% for 5 seconds. Bane of Havoc spreads 15% of your damage to a secondary target, useful in battlegrounds. Incinerate is a new fire nuke that synergizes with Immolate.

24. Holy Priest (C Tier)

You will want at least one, especially if you have an Arcane Mage in the group, but the tree is not exciting compared to Disc or Resto Shaman.

25. Survival Hunter (C Tier)

Survival shines in melee PvE settings. As a dedicated PvP spec against ranged classes, other options edge it out.

26. Beast Mastery Hunter (C Tier)

Beast Within only affects your pet, not the hunter itself. Pets in vanilla hit for very little and died fast. Broken Tooth's knockback got patched out long ago, so BM struggles without meaningful buffs to the hunter's own damage.

27. Arms Warrior (C Tier)

Bloodthrill lets rended targets proc Overpower, and Weapon Master grants bonuses per weapon type (maces ignore 3% armor, for example). It works in PvP but does not feel loaded next to the other trees.

28. Arcane Mage (C Tier)

Arcane pumps top DPS on paper, but mana issues showed on stream, with Zarya running dry mid-fight. Could jump higher if scaling holds up.

29. Feral Cat DPS (C Tier)

Mangle only working in bear form hurts cat DPS badly. You still get an actual Rebirth and Berserk, but losing wild strikes and the season of discovery invite priority drops this spec down.

30. Protection Warrior (D Tier)

Prot Warrior tanks lose ground to Prot Paladin's insane new toolkit. Without world buffs and with less scaling than fury, this spec falls flat in PvP.

31. Subtlety Rogue (D Tier)

Sub Rogue feels shafted. Many talents in the tree simply are not useful, forcing you to travel deep just to reach A Thousand Cuts, the new capstone ability. Combat outperforms it for most players.

32. Balance Druid (D Tier)

Balance struggles in direct PvP compared to Shadow Priest or Warlock. Fun to play, but currently outclassed.

WoW Forever gives every class new toys, but not every class gets equal treatment. Enhancement Shaman, Protection Paladin, Restoration Shaman, Discipline Priest, and Survival Melee Hunter currently sit at the top, while Sub Rogue, Prot Warrior, and Balance PvP wait for buffs. Warlocks are the biggest wildcard thanks to critting DoTs and the Demonic Pact rework, so any of the three warlock trees could climb once the meta develops. Try a few specs during beta on September 17th and lock in your main before the November 4th launch.
