The newly released Elden Ring Tarnished Edition brings a wealth of brand-new collectibles to the Lands Between, including 7 unique weapons, 4 exclusive armor sets, and 3 cosmetic skins for your spectral steed Torrent. Most items can be obtained through simple exploration, merchant purchases, or defeating new NPC invaders, with no complicated hidden prerequisites. This guide clearly explains the exact location, acquisition method, and core features of every new item.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition New Weapons (List, Location & Farm)
The Tarnished Edition update adds seven new weapons covering light greatswords, curved scimitars, katanas, flails, backhand blades, and thrusting shields. Two are Somber-tier unique weapons, while the rest are base-game compatible craftable/lootable weapons.
1. Idus Sword (Light Greatsword)
The signature weapon of the Idus Knight class. It features lightweight construction for a greatsword, allowing fast, straight-sword-like slashes while retaining greatsword range and damage. Its exclusive skill Impaling Thrust can pierce enemy shields and deal high-stance break damage with charged lunges.
Where and How to Get: Two acquisition methods. New Idus Knight characters start with this weapon automatically. For all other builds, travel to southern Liurnia of the Lakes. Spawn at the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace, then move northwest to find a corpse leaning against a tree; the Idus Sword is looted directly from this corpse.
2. Hefty Scimitar (Curved Greatsword)
Strength and Dexterity scaling curved greatsword, equipped with the Spinning Slash Ash of War. It excels at sweeping multi-enemy attacks and has solid crowd-clearing capability for early game.
Where and How to Get: Default starting weapon for the Heavy Knight class. Existing characters can purchase it from the Nomadic Merchant in south East Limgrave, northwest of Fort Haight.
3. Leontiel’s Greatsword (Unique Greatsword)
One of the two new Somber-tier weapons. Its exclusive Muleta skill lets players dodge incoming attacks with left/right evasive pivots (with i-frames) and follow up with powerful charged strikes, supporting both defensive counterplay and offensive pressure.
Where and How to Get: Dropped by defeating the invading NPC Leontiel in the Radahn arena (Caelid), alongside Leontiel’s armor set.
4. Golden Order Flail (Unique Flail)
The second new Somber-tier weapon, Faith-scaled with a unique causality mechanic. Its weapon skill applies a protective bubble; incoming hits upgrade the bubble, empowering the follow-up AoE explosion attack. It synergizes perfectly with the Broken Gold Mask armor set.
Where and How to Get: Dropped by defeating the Broken Gold Mask invader in Leyndell’s Radagon statue area.
5. Reverse-Bladed Sword (Backhand Blade)
Previously exclusive to the DLC, this backhand blade is now available in the base game. It features fast spinning slashes and thrust attacks, ideal for Dexterity and bleed-focused builds.
Where and How to Get: Purchasable from the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold once you unlock the hub area early in the game.
6. Reed Great Katana (Great Katana)
A high-damage great katana with excellent Dexterity scaling. It supports cold, keen, and lightning attunements, making it versatile for various mid-to-late game Dexterity builds.
Where and How to Get: Located in Caelid, near the Fort Faroth Site of Grace. Climb the large skull structure beside the site, and loot the katana from the corpse at the top.
7. Ritual Thrusting Shield (Thrusting Shield)
A functional shield with built-in thrust attack capabilities, balancing defensive guard and offensive damage output for hybrid shield-build playstyles.
Where and How to Get: Enter the Caelid Colosseum. Use a Stonesword Key to activate the lift from the Siofra River entrance, proceed past the giant iron jar, and open the rear colosseum door to collect the shield.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition Torrent Skins
All three new Torrent skins are purely visual upgrades with no gameplay attribute bonuses. They are found in fixed chests or marked field locations across key regions, accessible for all character builds at any progression stage.
1. Tree Sentinel Spectral Steed Skin

3. Funereal Night Spectral Steed Attire
Location & How to Get: Located on the outskirts of Leyndell (capital region, adjacent to Altus Plateau), near the Battlefield Site of Grace. Walk up the stairs toward the capital’s merchants, then turn right to find a field of broken soldier swords.
