Top 10 Best Things To Do at Level 70 in WoW Classic TBC

6/15/2021 6:58:40 PM

In this WoW Classic TBC guide, we go for a big checklist of everything that you should do ASAP at your level 70 in the World of Warcraft The Burining Crusade Classic. In fact, some of the things on this list, you can actually do earlier at level 68!

Top 10 Things You Should Do Once Hit Level 70 In WoW Classic TBC

So you just made it to level 70 in WoW Classic Burning Crusade, or maybe you’re still in the process of doing that, are you wondering what should you do once hit 70 levels, what is there to do and what should you prioritize now that you're max level? In this guide, we’re going to answer just that by going over the main avenues of content that Burning Crusade has to offer, as well as giving you a road map of what to prioritize to make your character stronger, make more gold, and just have fun overall in the game.

1. Get Off The Ground

So the first thing you should do really the moment you hit 70 is head to Shadowmoon Valley and get your flying mount. Flying is very important in Outland and on besides getting you from point A to point B faster, it will also unlock more content for you. Unlike in the modern expansions where you have to do a bunch of content to unlock flying, in WoW Classic TBC you simply need to buy it from the trainers in Shadowmoon Valley, the cost of the base flying skill plus the flying mount is 1000 gold, and really, if you reached level 70 you should definitely have that, if you don't, we offer the cheap WoW Classic TBC Gold for sale, check it out if you're are short in gold.

But really flying should be your first investment in the game, keep in mind that the base flying skill will only allow you to go at a 60% speed, which is slower than your ground mount. So in some situations it is better to use your ground mount, if there’s no obstacles on the way for example, and then there's the epic flying mount which goes at a whapping speed of 280% but that one will set you off a further 5000 gold, so that's going to be more of a long term goal for most people and likely not something you can do right away.

2. Start Your Karazhan Attunement

The next thing you should do if you haven't already is to get started on your Karazhan attunement quest, this starts outside Karazhan in Deadwind Pass in Azeroth and it will have you do quite a lot of things around the world, so it is better to get started on it right away if you incidentally do the dungeons required for it.

Karazhan is the first raid of TBC and likely the first one you'll be doing, so getting started on the attunement right away is important. So pick up the quests outside Karazhan and just follow the quest chain until you're asked to do Escape from Durnhold Keep, from there you can move on with other things or you could also get the whole quest chain done now to get it out of the way, it's not extremely long but it will take you a day or two depending on how easily you can find groups for those dungeons and clear them.

3. Pre-Bis Quest Rewards

The next thing we recommend you do is have a look at your pre raid best in slot gear list for your class and spec. Wowhead should help you with that they have amazing people doing those pre raid bis lists, but the reason you should have a look at it is because a lot of pre raid best in slot stuff comes from doing regular quests around Outland. And since how geared your character is dictates how fast you can do the rest of the content that the game has to offer, the quest rewards pre bis items are an easy way to get a lot of power on your character very easily. Now a lot of these quests are not a walk in the park however, some of them require a 5 man group but there’s also a lot of them that can be done solo, so look at your pre bis

list on Wowhead and get those powerful quest rewards.

4. Get Rewarded

Alright you got your flying, you got attuned to Kara, and you got some of your easy pre raid gear out of the way, it's time for you to work on your reputations to unlock heroic dungeons. If you reached level 70, 9 times out of 10 you should already be honored with the main reputations in Outland, except maybe the Sha'tar and Keepers of Time probably. So your goal is to reach revered with all of those factions as soon as possible.

Reaching revered is important to be able to buy the heroic keys from the factions Quartermasters, it is worth mentioning by the way that that requirement will be relaxed down to honored instead of revered later on in the game. So depending on when you started you might have an easier time getting those keys. But the main way to reach revered if you're honored is one to finish the quests that you haven't done yet obviously, in either Hellfire Peninsula, Zangarmarch, Netherstorm and so on, or if you have no quests left the only way to reach honored is to do the normal dungeons Shattered Halls, Steamvaults, Shadow Labyrinth, all the dungeons in Netherstorm and all the dungeons in Caverns of Time.

Those dungeons will give you reputation with their respective faction even after honored, the rest of the other normal dungeons are low level dungeons and they do not give you any rep past honored, so your next goal is to farm those dungeons we mentioned until you reach revered and buy your heroic keys.

5. Clear Heroics

Next up obviously once you have access to heroics, you should do those, pretty much every day. Heroics are going to be one of the main avenues of gearing in Classic TBC all throughout the expansion, think of them as Mythic Plus from retail, the reason you do them, other than the gear they drop obviously, is to get Badges of Justice. This currency allows you to buy raid equivalent gear and it will stay relevant all throughout the expansion, so getting Badges of Justice now will allow you to buy newer and better gear once it gets unlocked so you should always be doing as many of those heroic dungeons as your time allows everyday.

Before you head to a heroic dungeon remember to drop by the daily badge of justice quest giver in Shattrath's Lower City, this NPC will give a random quest every day on a rotation which will ask you to kill the last boss of a specific heroic dungeon in exchange for 2 Badges of Justice, this is the most efficient way to farm badges if you only want to do one dungeon everyday.

6. Level Your Professions

From there really the choice is yours as far as what to do next, one good thing to aim for next is to level up a profession. Professions are very very important in TBC, even more so than they were in Classic, pretty much every profession can do something that is highly desirable by other players, or even by the player him or herself. As a hunter for example, leatherworking is super strong to have, it allows you to create very powerful gear for yourself and others, and it also has a very good money making component to it thanks to the Leg Enchants you can make with it.

But that's just one example, every profession can be very good to have so make your research and pick something that will be good for you and/or can make you a lot of gold.

7. PvP

PvP is not everyone cup of tea but in TBC you might really want to consider it, PvP gear is sometimes on par with heroic dungeon or even raiding gear, Battlegrounds give you honor with which you can buy some strong entry level blue PvP. And then you can take it a step further by doing Arena. If you don't want to bother at all with Arena, we would suggest doing at least 10 matches every week, that way you'll be entitled to receive Arena points at the end of the week, stockpile enough of those overtime and you'll be able to get yourself gear that is on par with raiding gear, and obviously which is the best PvP gear you can get.

Blizzard changed the PvP system a lot since the Beta started and to be honest they probably will even more overtime, so it's hard to give you a recommendation on what to do exactly, but as a baseline, doing 10 matches every week, regardless of whether you win or loose, to be eligible to receive arena points at the end of the week should be something you aim to do everytime, beyond that it's up to you where you want to take your rating.

8. Complete Your Pre-Bis

From there, at this point you unlocked pretty much everything TBC has to offer, it's time for you to grind your pre raid bis gear. As mentioned earlier, pre raid bis can come from variety of sources, starting from regular quests in the world to boss in heroic dungeons to rewards from Badges of Justice. Raiding isn't really hard at all in TBC, especially in phase 1, so getting all your pre raid bis is not a requirement at all, but it is good to get your character strong enough that you can pull your weight either when you do your heroic dungeons everyday or when you're invited to a raid.

9. Raiding

But with that once you're ready, you can step inside raids. Now the only raids available in TBC are Karazhan, Magtheridon's lair and Gruul's Lair, none of which are really hard to do and to be fair you could enter them the moment you reach 70 probably if your guild allows you to, assuming you're attuned in the case of Karazhan of course. But later raids will definitely become harder overtime, you could maybe pull off getting invited to an SSC very early, but probably not Tempest Keep or Black Temple or Hyjal. And unlike in retail, previous raids don't become obsolete in TBC, people will still be running Gruul and Magtheridon even in phase 5, they will faceroll them but they still have a purpose to do them. As for you, we recommend getting geared

progressively through the lower tier raids and then move on to the higher raid tiers, that's one advantage of starting early in the expansion obviously.

10. Daily Quests

Something else we want to add, and this will NOT be available from the start, daily quests. Dailies can be very good to do all throughout the expansion, you have the Netherwing dailies of course to unlock a Nether drake, which is one of the best looking flying mounts in the game, and you also have the Ogri'la dailies, or the fishing dailies, or the Shattered Sun dailies in Isle of Quel'danas to make a lot of gold. But basically dailies are another avenue of content to do for some quite useful rewards all throughout the expansion.

But that's pretty much it, to recap, once you hit 70 the first thing you should do really is get your base flying mount, and work on your epic flying mount overtime, as that's very expensive; then start working on your Karazhan attunement, Kara will be the first raid you’ll do and you want to get those easy first quests done early to be able to move on to the dungeon quests; from there a good thing to do is to aim to get some of your pre raid bis gear, at least the pieces that come from quests in the world, those are easy to get and should your character strength with little effort. Getting revered with every faction to unlock heroic dungeons is a must for everyone so work on that as soon as you can too, then obviously do the heroic dungeons themselves to get badges of justice, don’t forget about the daily quest to be efficient, then just work on your professions, do your 10 Arena matches for the week, and get into raiding starting with the lower raid tiers first and then working your way up.
