Season 2 is rolling out in Diablo IV, it's time to plan your leveling route for the Season of Blood! Here we have compiled the following two leveling routes from level 1 to level 100 for you based on the D4 Season 2 Leveling Guide created by Raxxanterax:
D4 Season 2 Best Leveling Guide - Fastest Ways To Level Up 100
Two leveling routes for Diablo 4 Season 2 are presented to accommodate different playstyles and preferences. Ultimately, the choice between the routes depends on individual preferences and how players want to experience the game.
D4 Season 2 Fast 1-50-100 Leveling Guide for Casual Players
The initial leveling strategy is designed for casual players, offering an enjoyable experience. While progressing through the overworld, you won't be significantly far behind those following the Race to 100 route, and the rewards can be quite fulfilling. Leveling up in the Overworld grants you Vampiric Powers, access to various flower types for crafting your favorite Elixirs, increased availability of materials, improved gear with more legendary items, and overall better progression. However, it's worth noting that you may progress at a slightly slower pace compared to those pursuing the race-leveling route.
1. Level 0:
2. Level 1-14:
Hit Tab and claim all Renown rewards in all 5 zones. If you're a new player you won't have this unlocked and you'll want to complete Renown as early as possible.
Do the Vampire Questline (might start in Kyovashad). This will be required to get Vampire drops. Go as far as you can into it.
3. Level 1-14:
Overworld leveling has been massively buffed and will be how most players will gain their XP. Here are the activities to prioritize:
- a. Legion Events should pay the most XP for any Overworld activity. They spawn every 25 minutes and should be completed every time.
- b. Completing Whispers is your next best option (especially dungeon ones which reward 5 Grim Favors). Try to do Whispers that overlap with BLOOD HARVEST, the new vampire event.
- c. World Bosses should be the next most rewarding event if you're high enough of a level to kill them. Remember that they are buffed now with "significantly better rewards"!
- d. BLOOD HARVEST would be the next best option. It's possible that it's actually better than anything above since I haven't tested it, but I doubt it. Do this when nothing else is up.
When you're close to 15, acquire any codex powers you need from dungeons. Your leveling guide will tell you what you need.
4. Level 15:
At 15 do your class quest that automatically populates in your quest log (Necros are at 25, not 15):
- Barb Technique Slot
- Druid Spirit Boons
- Necro Book of the Dead
- Rogue Specialization
- Sorcerer Enchantment Slots
5. Level 16-48:
Back to the same strategy as in Step 3:
Before going to the capstone, UPGRADE YOUR MAIN WEAPONS at the blacksmith as high as you can for extra DPS.
If playing on Hardcore, make sure you craft an ELIXIR OF DEATH EVASION, place your Scroll of Escape on your emote wheel, and BIND IT TO A KEY in your settings.
48 (or whatever level you feel comfortable at) swap to World Tier 2 and clear the Capstone Dungeon.
Before going to World Tier 3, CLEAR HOPE'S LIGHT STRONGHOLD in the top left corner of Scosglen. This is to unlock one of the best Nightmare Dungeons, FLOODED DEPTHS.
Go to the center of Kyovashad and swap to World Tier 3.
Go to pick and set up your endgame build.

Chain clear Nightmare Dungeons. Hints:
Turn in a round of Grim Favors to the Tree of Whispers to get a Nightmare Dungeon Sigil.
Complete the Nightmare Dungeon Quests in Kmart at the Occultist.
If you're new and don't have your Renown completed yet, finish it before going to World Tier 4.
Follow the Seasonal NM Dungeon Tier List Tab in this sheet to see what the best dungeons to run are, and which ones you should salvage.
Salvage any bad NM Dungeon keys per the Tier List on the next tab.
Pay attention to the Seasonal theme, and look for important VAMPIRIC POWERS for your build.
You don't have to kill every monster (unless that's the specific objective of the dungeon). Focus on Elites, high density trash packs, and clearing quickly.
Make sure that you RUN A FEW HELLTIDES and follow the mysterious chest strategy to get Forgotten Souls and Fiend Roses.
Go kill the World Bosses when they spawn. Use the same map link above for the timer and location.
8. Level 65-68:
At 65 level (or whatever level you feel comfortable), clear the second Capstone Dungeon and go to World Tier 4 at the statue in Kmart.
Upgrade your weapons, armor, and jewelry as much as possible before attempting this. Don't forget your ELIXIR OF DEATH EVASION if you're playing Hardcore.
9. Level 68-100:
Clear Nightmare Dungeons, using the same hints listed above. If you're not strong enough to do WT4 NMDs right away, do WT4 Domhainne Tunnels. Don't forget:
- Craft the highest level gems at level 70 at the Jeweler
- Run Helltide for Forgotten Souls and Fiend Roses
- Reroll and upgrade your ancestral World Tier 4 gear
- Kill World Bosses for loot and Shattering Prisms
- Make sure you have your optimal VAMPIRIC POWERS
Fight the Uber Bosses when your resistances are capped and you feel powerful enough to target farm Uniques you need
D4 Season 2 Fastest 1-50-100 Leveling Route for Racers
Alternatively, if you're aiming to "Race to 100" and prioritize speed, there's an option to take advantage of the heavily boosted XP rates while a thunderstorm looms in the background. This approach, however, may result in a less enjoyable and less rewarding experience. It involves repeatedly running dungeons and disregarding the new content provided by Blizzard. By following this Race to 100 route, you'll reach level 100 quickly, but with fewer items, less gold, fewer Legendary Powers, potentially no access to flowers, and possibly no vampiric powers. The focus here is purely on reaching the level cap at the fastest pace possible.
1. Level 0:
Create a new SEASONAL character on WORLD TIER 1 and SKIP CAMPAIGN. Select WORLD TIER 2 if you are an experienced player or are playing in a very efficient group.
Hit Tab and claim all Renown rewards in all 5 zones. If you're a new player you won't have this unlocked and you'll want to complete Renown as early as possible.
