Randomly rerolls socket links on a corrupted item (similar to a regular Orb of Fusing). Works only on corrupted items (normal, magic, or rare). Cannot be used on unique items (unless they were corrupted into a rare).
Randomly changes the number of links (can increase or decrease). Preserves corruption, quality, and sockets (only affects links). No guaranteed outcome—can result in worse links.
Tainted Orbs of Fusing are exclusive to Beyond content (similar to other Tainted currencies).
Best Sources:
Beyond Bosses (guaranteed Tainted currency drops)
Ghorr, the Grasping Maw
K'tash, the Hate Shepherd
Beidat, Archangel of Death
Beyond Monsters (low chance)
Corrupted Strongboxes (Vaal Orb’d)
Estimated Drop Rate:
Rarer than Tainted Chaos Orbs but more common than Tainted Mythic Orbs. Beyond bosses drop multiple Tainted currencies per kill, increasing chances.
Good Scenarios:
Fixing corrupted items with bad links (e.g., 4-socket 2-link → hoping for 4-link). Gambling on high-value corrupted rares (e.g., +1 gems armor). When bench-crafting is not an option (no Vorici in hideout).
Bad Scenarios:
Trying to 6-link from scratch (too unreliable). Using on already well-linked items (risk of downgrading).
Optimal Strategy for 6-Linking:
Bench-craft 6 sockets first (350 Jeweller’s Orbs). Use Tainted Orbs of Fusing to try for 6 links. Estimated ~1/10 chance to go from 5L → 6L. Much worse odds from lower links (e.g., 4L → 6L ~1/40). Stop if you hit 5L (then focus on 5L → 6L attempts).
High risk—can waste orbs without improving links. Best for SSF (when you can’t trade for a 6-link). Economically questionable—often better to sell the orbs.
