WoW TBC Classic Phase 5 Preparation Guide: Things To Do For New Sunwell Raid, BiS & Content

With WoW Classic TBC Phase 5 just around the corner, here we put together a guide with different things and tips you can prepare in classic phase 4 for the upcoming phase 5. 

WoW Classic TBC Phase 5 Preparation Guide

In World of Warcraft TBC Classic Phase 5, a lot of new content will be available for example a new dungeon, raid, and even a new faction, the Sunwell on the Isle of Quel'Danas. So if you want to get a good start, good preparation should be achieved by doing the things below.

1. Get Phase BIS Items

The new raid Sunwell will also be way more difficult compared to Black Temple and Mount Hyjal, and therefore the biggest preparation that you can do is of course to get your best in slot gear in phase 4. Having the best in slot gear will be so important Sunwell will be extremely difficult to do compared to Black Temple and Mount Hyjal, especially early on when there's been no nerf to any of the encounters.

2. Farm Badges

One of the biggest preparations you can do right now in order to start raiding Sunwell as fast as possible is to stack up on a badge of justice. With these badges of justice, you will be able to purchase different items in phase 5 because there are going to be new vendors. For example, the Anwehu will sell different weapons, leather, mail, and plate items but also a few rings, a lot of these items will be extremely important to collect before you start doing Sunwell. So farming badges right now will have a huge impact on how fast you can get into the new raid.

At the same time you will also be able to use your badges of justice to buy different epic gems, so if you don't have a lot of gold and you can't afford epic gems, well then you can find badges of justice and turn these into gems. What's more, you could always use your batch of justice to purchase these gems and sell them onto your auction house to earn more gold.

3. Stock Some Gold

There are a ton of reasons for you should have a lot of WoW Classic gold for Phase 5. For example, the new designs recipes, patterns, and schematics, and these have a chance to drop ensemble. So having a lot of gold well then you'll also be able to buy these for example in gold DKP runs but also on the auction house. 

4. Level Professions and Stock Materials

Having a ton of gold well then you can buy materials right away and craft some of the best items in the game that's why you also need to make sure that you max out your profession. Another big preparation is to make sure that if you need some of these items as your best in slot items, then you need to stack up the materials to craft these before they're getting more expensive. 

You might notice that a lot of the new items that you will be able to craft from Sunwell require sun mode - a new material that will only be able to drop inside this raid. So having a lot of gold will also be important so you can buy these at the auction house and craft the best slot gear. The sun mode has a chance to drop from all the different monsters in the raid, also to different person counters, but besides crafting items with the sun mode there is nothing else that is going to be important with this material. If you have a Sun mode, you can go back to the boat or Isle of Quel'Danas. And with the sun mode and the ceiling chest, you will be able to hand it in and convert the chest into something new, in this case, a caster chess piece for example warlock mage or priest.

5. Farm Honor + Battleground Marks

Another thing that you need to prepare especially if you like to PVP is going to be honor and the different BG marks. Having honor and Battleground Marks will allow you to purchase new PVP items. In Phase 5 season 4 will be introduced and when season 4 is being introduced, you will also be able to buy merciless items for honor, these items are used to cost arena points but that's not the case in phase 4. So by grinding honor and BG marks, you will be able to buy epic items right away in the next phase.  Even though some of these items are meant for PVP, they're still useful in some PVE situations because some of the stats they provide are quite useful even when you're raiding. 

6. Try Out The New Dungeon on PTR

The new dungeon that you will be able to do will provide you with reputation with the shepherd sun - the new faction on the Isle of Quel'Danas, the good thing about this dungeon is that you will be able to reset it on normal mode and continue to gain repetition with the shattered sun. But on heroic mode, it will be quite difficult to do this, so what we highly recommend you to do as well is to try out this dungeon on the PTR right now. You can simply just copy paste a character for example your current main in a classic over to this realm and here you will be able to test out the dungeon for example with your guildmates or probably just a random party group, being able to practice this dungeon will have a huge impact on how fast you will be able to reach exalted and be able to purchase the new epic items from sheltered sun.
