Based on the guide from Sofa Supastar Gaming, here you can find an easy way and a recipe that you can use to socket white Diablo 2 items including weapons, armor, shield, and helmet. Now if you've been playing the game for a little while, you'll know white items and grey items aren't absolutely obsolete in this game, everything has its value, it all depends on what you're going for.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Socket Weapon Recipe

Firstly, let’s take a look at how to put sockets on a white weapon. The item has to be a white and base variant, it can’t be superior, magical or unique. One thing to remember is if you are doing this and you want a lot of sockets on it, what sockets they can roll is determined by the D2R items. If you're doing the Hell difficulty and dropping these white items, you're going to be able to have a chance to be able to get those, the max they can actually put on that weapon whereas if it's the normal variant, it'll be a lot lower and you won't be able to hit those higher socket numbers. It rolls between one to six and the number of sockets you are gonna get is depending on what the item type can actually hold. If it's able to roll six sockets because it's a really high drop from hell, you have a chance of getting that as long as the roll is lucky. Diablo 2 runes are necessary to socket the following items.

We're gonna open up our Horadric Cube, it can be any white weapon, it doesn't have to be a bow, and this will work and add sockets to it.
