WOW TBC Classic Preparation Guide-Phase 2 Preparation

8/5/2021 2:49:33 PM

WOW TBC Classic Phase 2 is on the Public Test Realm, Phase 2 brings a lot of new content, including two new raids: Viper Temple Caves and Storm Fortress. This means new raid gear and more challenging content! Different loot from different raids, as well as new enchantments, new gems, and the return of consumables! The price of TBC consumables may increase significantly, offering goldsmiths and gold farmers in TBC Classic the unique opportunity to make gold and farm gold! This is a preparation guide for WOW TBC Classic Phase 2.

What is coming in TBC Classic phase 2?

The things we may get: Druid Swift Flight Form, the Sha'tari and the Ogri'la Daily Quests,  Guild Banks,  Group tool, Two new raids- the Serpentshrine Caverns and the Tempest keep

How you can start preparing for Raids now?

TBC Phase 2 Resistance Gear

In Serpentshrine Caverns, there are a couple of bosses where specific classes will need specific resistance gear, there are several ways to obtain different types of persistence gear:

1. Craft some resistance gear

2. Buy it from the Auction House, buy some really good resistance gear with badges of justice.

2. Grinding for badges of justice right now. For Leotheras the Blind, a Warlock with a good amount of Fire Resistance Gear is necessary.

Warlock Tank Fire Resistance

For the first boss of the Serpentshrine Cavern, Warlock Tank Fire Resistance you will want one tank with Forst Resistance Gear and one with Nature Resistance Gear, now while these can not be purchased with the badges of justice, you can craft yourself a hefty amount of both the frost resistance and nature resistance gear using blacksmithing.

Tank Frost Resistance & Nature Resistance

Blacksmiths can craft the Ice guard Set, which consists of three different pieces that in total will give you 170 frost resistance.

Blacksmith can also craft the Wildguard Set which is basically the nature resistance version of the Iceguard Set and just like the other set. It consists of three individual pieces that in total will give you 170 nature resistance.

TBC Phase 2 Goldmaking

These Blacksmiths crafted items are being bound on equip, which means there are some gold-making opportunities here by obtaining the recipes for crafting these items, but also by farming the materials needed in order to craft them.

For the Iceguard Set, there are Khorium Bars, Primal Water, and primal fire, while for the Wildguard set, there are Felsteel bar which is made from Feliron and Eternium, Primal Life, and Primal Shadow.

It's a piece of fairly decent investment advice if you are looking to gamble some WOW TBC Classic gold on some investments, or if you just want to pre-farm some materials that will be in demand during phase 2.

TBC Resistance Enchants

As for further ressistance that lots of BOE items on the Auction House, as well as different resistance, enchants like plus 20 fire resistance from your Faction's Hellfire Peninsula Reputation plus 20 nature resistance from the Cenarian Expedition and also plus 20 frost resistance from the keepers of time more difficult content also means the return of consumables.

TBC Consumables Rising in Price

Destruction Potions will be used by many Casters, Netherblooms are also an important item, but a destruction potion requires twice as many Nightmare Vines as Netherbloom.

For melee, a lot of people using Haste Potions, which are crafted by using two Terracones and one Netherbloom. If you thought Terracones were terrible to farm now, just wait for Phase two as the demand for Terracones goes up even more.  People start farming them like crazy! The price for Terracones is already pretty up there but will see a small spike still, you also have flasks, farming out different materials for Flasks and sell them later in TBC Classic.

Marks of the Illidari in TBC Classic

The argument of "what about the Marks of Illidari" also exits, marks of the Illidari were originally introduced in TBC, during the Black Temple patch, but they also drop in Serpentshrine Caverns and Tempest Keep.

Now Black Temple would be WOW TBC Classic phase 3, but TBC Classic is also built on the last patch of the Burning Crusade, which brings up the question, are coming with phase 2 or phase 3?

Considering Blizzard added Marks of Illidari in the Black Temple Patch, but considering they also dropped from Serpentshrine Cavern, there is a chance Blizzard wants these in from phase 2, which would completely destroy the value of materials used in crafting flasks since you can trade these Marks in for those Flasks, Marks of Illidari are currently dropping from Serpentshrine Cavern and Tempest Keep on the PTR but considering its PTR, this could all change, but it does look like the Marks of Illidari might be coming with Phase 2.

Swift Flight Form TBC Classic

If you are a Druid and looking to obtain your Swift Flight Form, you might want to prepare yourself with 10x Dreaming Glorys and 10x Ancient lichen right now, as that is needed in one of the first quests available, and even though there's a huge supply of these already, people will try to flip these at the launch of phase 2, you could save yourself some gold by buying them now before people start controlling the market.

TBC Arena Season 2

For those of you doing Arena, at the end of season 1 your arena points will be converted into Honor Points, and at the costs for both Arena Point and Honor Gear will be reduced prior to the end of season 1.

That being said you should be able to carry your honor and marks over into season 2, and here's a reference to the Gear Difference from season 1 to season 2. so while season 1 Gear becomes cheaper, season two gear is also substantially better and might be worth saving up for instead, and you can pre-farm the honor and marks needed for that right now.

TBC Phase 2 Attunements

Attunements, and considering there are already many guides out there telling you exactly how to do the attunements for both Serpentshrine Caverns and Tempest Keep,  there is a fairly lengthy quest chain for both, involving some heroic dungeons, and for an exact guide on how to do the attunements. Downloading the addon called "Attune", which will be good for you.

Bottled Nethergon Energy - Phase 2 Prep

The Bottle Nethergon Energy, which is basically a Mana Potion that you can obtain from Tempest Keep Dungeons, or basically the dungeons in Netherstorm, and these are usable inside the Tempest Keep Raid as well, so if you want to pre-farm some Mana Potions, doing those Tempest Keep Dungeons might be a good idea!

And you could also just pay attention to the Daily Dungeon Quests, and if there's ever a daily quest for a tempest keep dungeon aka the Arcatraz, the Botanica, or the Mechannar, now you have another reason to do those dungeons. these potions are also tradable so you can buy them super cheap on the Auction House and considering they are usable in Tempest Keep, they should go up in price in Phase 2 as the demand should go up.
