rocket league will soon be celebrating its second birthday and psyonix is giving the autoball game an extensive 2nd anniversary update. the update provides a free arena called champions field, two new battle cars and new customization options for individualizing the racing cars. in addition, the 2nd anniversary update rings the start of rocket league season 5.

among other things, the new arena - champions field will be offered freely. it is a fairly modern-day stadium with large crowds, which is available in the game modes competitive, private and casual for the start of season 5 which will begin on the same day.

in addition, the update will give the so-called overdrive crates, which will be available as limited drops after online matches. overdrive crate contains new battle-cars called the animus gp and centio v17, decals, wheels, and more black market items.

with the new update, the animus gp and the centio v17 will also be used to implement two new import battle-cars, which are available exclusively via the so-called overdrive crates. psyonix has yet to detail the special features of the new vehicles, but as seen in the anniversary update trailer, the animus gp comes with a skin variant clad in deep blue with steaks of orange, while the centio v17's previewed design has shades of lighter blue, purple and red all the way to its wheels.

psyonix also adds new customization options to the game. in this way, engine sound, the goal expansions and the vehicle trails can be set up individually. flashy new goal explosions--fire, ice, and bright purple fireworks--will be part of the update too. more options will become available as they are unlocked through crate drops after matches.

18 new songs by monstercat will star in the in-game radio station, rocket league radio. the song list has not yet been detailed, mitis ether remix is the only confirmed one.

the 2nd anniversary update also marks the start of the fifth season and the end of season 4. changes to the fifth season have not yet been announced, but will follow soon. they will reveal more details on new achievements, trophies, and goal explosions once the patch notes of the anniversary update are up.

rick and morty

psyonix has partnered  with adult swim and adult swim games to release special content from the  popular tv series "rick & morty" for "rocket league". they will be included free of charge in the "2nd anniversary" update from 5 july 2017 onwards.
fans can look forward to antennas with rick and morty. these  include "cromulon", "mr. meeseeks" and "mr. pbh" toppers, as well as  the "interdimensional gb" -rocket- and the "sanchez dc-137" -cycles drops can drop as a painted item after matches.
