No Rest for the Wicked is an exciting, fast-paced game where you fight enemies, overcome obstacles, and use strategy to win. One of its newest and most useful features is the Facet System. Facets change how your weapons and armor work, making your character unique and helping you tackle tough challenges. This article covers the full list of No Rest for the Wicked Facets and their buffs/debuffs and how they work in the game.
What Are No Rest for the Wicked Item Facets?
Simply put, Facets are special, built-in effects that come with some of your No Rest for the Wicked items. They are not enchantments and you cannot add, remove, or change them—once an item has a Facet, it stays with that item forever. Every Facet has different effects: typically a buff and a debuff. For example, one Facet might make your attacks faster but deal less damage. But some of them may have 3 different stats.
Important things to remember about NRFTW Facets:
They appear on Common and Enchanted items (two types of gear in the game).
They are innate modifiers, meaning they are part of the item when it is generated (found or crafted).
You can find two items of the same type (like two swords) with different Facets—this lets you pick the one that works better for your build.
Some items cannot get Facets.
How Do No Rest for the Wicked Item Facets Work?
Facets work automatically once you equip the item with the Facet. You don’t need to press any buttons or activate them—just put the item on your character, and the buff and debuff will take effect right away. For example, the “Quick” Facet for weapons gives you +10% attack speed (buff) but -10% damage (debuff). If you like to attack quickly and dodge often, this Facet is great. But if you prefer to deal big damage with slow, powerful hits, you might avoid it.
One special note about resistance-boosting Facets (like Fireproof, Purified, or Insulated): How much they help depends on your total Armor value:
When your total Armor is around 125: These Facets give you 70–80 extra Armor against the specific element (like Fire for Fireproof). For example, if you have 125 total Armor and wear a Fireproof armor piece, you’ll have 29% Fire resistance (instead of 21% like other elements).
When your total Armor is below 125: These Facets give you much less extra Armor. For example, if you only have 30 total Armor and wear Fireproof armor, you’ll have 15% Fire resistance (instead of 5% like other elements)—this is only 55 extra Armor for Fire, not 70–80.

How to Get No Rest for the Wicked Item Facets?
Getting Facets is simple, but it’s not guaranteed—they are random. There are two main ways to get items with Facets:
1. Loot Them from Enemies or Chests
When you kill enemies or open chests in the game, you might get items (weapons, armor, shields) that have a Facet. This is random—some enemies drop better gear, so fighting stronger enemies or exploring hidden areas might give you a higher chance of finding Faceted items. But remember: not all items you loot will have a Facet.
2. Craft Them
You can also get Faceted items by crafting gear at a crafting station. When you craft an item (like a sword or armor), there’s a chance the crafted item will have a Facet. Again, this is random—you might craft 10 items and get 1 with a Facet, or you might get lucky and get one on your first try.
Important Notes About Getting Facets
Many players have reported issues with getting Facets on certain items:
Some weapons cannot get Facets: Players have crafted 20+ of certain weapons (like Blood-Rusted Sword, Hunter’s Knife, Scythe of Wretches, Gnarled Staff, Claymore, Hope Shorn Scythe) and gotten no Facets. It seems some low-tier weapons or specific weapon types are bugged and cannot get Facets.
Wands and Elemental Facets: Players cannot craft wands with Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Plague infusion Facets. This might be a bug.
Armor Facets can be tricky: Some players have crafted many sets of armor (like 34 Gilded Spearman chests) and not gotten a specific Facet (like Agile). However, Agile Facet is possible on plate armor—sometimes it’s just bad luck, but some armor pieces might be bugged.
No bleed infusion Facet: There is currently no Facet that gives your weapon bleed damage. Players hope this will be added in a future update.
How to Apply or Use NRFTW Item Facets?
Using Facets is easy—you don’t need to do anything special!
Find or craft an item with a Facet: First, you need to get an item that has a Facet (check the item’s description to see if it has a Facet).
Equip the item: Put the item on your character (weapon in your hand, armor on your body, shield in your off-hand).
Enjoy the effects: The Facet’s buff and debuff will activate automatically. You don’t need to press any buttons—just play the game, and the Facet will work.
Remember: You cannot change or remove a Facet. If you don’t like the Facet on an item, you have two choices: Unequip the item and use a different item with a better Facet, or craft or loot another item of the same type to get a different Facet.
