Get ready, Aion 2 is on the way! Starting a few days earlier than the official launch, players can pre-download the game and reserve their favorite character names. Whether you’re in Korea or Taiwan (China), here are simple guides to help you get started in Aion 2 easily and quickly.
NCSoft has officially announced that Aion 2 will launch first in South Korea and Taiwan (China) on November 19, 2025. This initial release will be accompanied by a pre-download and pre-character creation phase beginning a few days earlier, from November 16 to November 18, 2025. In these regions and dates, you can prepare your accounts, reserve character names, and secure your preferred servers ahead of the official launch.
Following this regional debut, a global release of Aion 2 is planned for early to mid-2026, though the exact date has not yet been confirmed.
Pre-registration for the game began on September 11, 2025 (until the official game release), with players able to sign up via the official website and major app stores in Korea and Taiwan. Early registrants are rewarded with in-game bonuses such as Aion 2 Kinah (the in-game currency) and a mount, all without requiring a phone number for verification.

Currently, Aion 2 is confirmed to launch on PC and mobile platforms, with dedicated versions optimized for both device types. The PC version will feature a fully revamped user interface tailored to desktop gaming, while the mobile version will offer a streamlined UI and gameplay experience designed for touch controls. Notably, the developers have confirmed there will be no full auto-combat on mobile, although some assistance features will be provided to help mobile players manage quests and combat efficiently.
Will Aion 2 Be on PS5 and Xbox?
Regarding consoles, such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox, there have been no official confirmations from NCSoft about Aion 2 releasing on these platforms. Rumors have circulated about a possible console version in development, but as of now, these remain unverified. The focus for the initial launch is clearly on PC and mobile, and any expansion to consoles would likely come later, if at all.
Yes, Aion 2 will follow a free-to-play business model, similar to NCSoft’s recent MMORPGs like Throne & Liberty. Players will be able to download and play the game for free, removing the barrier of an upfront purchase or subscription fee.
Aion 2 Monetization
Monetization will primarily come through optional in-game purchases, including cosmetic items such as outfits, weapon skins, wings, and mounts. There will also be a Battle Pass system and an optional subscription service offering additional perks. Players can acquire pets either through gameplay or purchase, and a trading post will be available for consumables and inventory expansions.
The auction house and trading systems will operate with earnable in-game currency rather than real-money transactions, although there will be options to exchange premium currency for in-game currency and vice versa. This introduces some Pay2Win elements, as acknowledged by the developers, but importantly, Aion 2 will not feature any Gacha mechanics, which often make games feel more randomized and pay-centric.

There is a risk that mobile phone verification might be required in the future, as happened with Throne and Liberty due to account security issues. If this happens, having access to a Taiwanese phone number will be necessary to verify your account. You can use a free VPN that can connect you to Taiwanese servers if needed. Alternatively, you can purchase already verified Taiwan accounts from third-party sellers to bypass verification hurdles.
Get a Korean Purple account verified with a Korean mobile phone number, or buy a pre-made Korean account.
