Tag: New World

Season 10 of New World Aeternum has landed with a host of new and reworked artifacts, perks, and charms, bringing fresh possibilities and complexity to gearing for both PvE and PvP. Players chasing the most powerful builds will find themselves weighing artifact weapons, armors, and jewelry with a variety of unique effects, updated stats, and deeper customization than ever before. Here, we are going to provide a detailed overview and ranking of the top artifact weapons, armors, and jewelry, along with the best perks to look for in each slot.

New World Aeternum Season 10 Artifact Tier List

Artifacts are unique pieces of equipment, ranging from weapons to armor and jewelry, that offer special fixed perks and often game-changing effects. Season 10 has brought two new artifacts, massive updates to previous ones, and more ways to acquire them, including new activities and bosses. Many older artifacts have been rebalanced, with new attribute scaling, drawbacks, and stronger effects for both solo and group play.

In addition to artifacts, the perk system has evolved. Now, every item comes with two fixed perks and up to three charm slots, allowing players to slot in offensive, defensive, or skill-specific perks for further customization. Which perks and artifacts to prioritize for pushing your build to the next level in both PvE and PvP? Following us to check out.

Best Artifact Weapons in NW Season 10

1. Serenity (S Tier)

Serenity is a must-have artifact for every PvP and PvE player. For DPS, it’s extremely powerful, and when used for tanking, it becomes an absolute monster. Light DPS and heavy tank builds both benefit, with hammer or Sword & Shield being the best tanking weapon choices to pair with Serenity. Calamity Counter shines when tanking alongside this artifact. Serenity drops from the PvP artifact track, available after rank 29 at the third checkpoint.

2. Inferno (S Tier)

Inferno is an outstanding firestaff for both PvE and PvP, especially after the nerf to the previous top artifact, Finisher. Inferno grants 15% increased damage when hitting a target within 15 meters, working with both weapons. Blunderbuss benefits greatly in PvP, while in PvE, weapons like hatchet, spear, or rapier can all excel with Inferno. It is obtained from the Imperium Forge dungeon during mutation cycles.

3. Dorgort's Blade (S Tier)

Dorgort's Blade is a rapier artifact that applies a stacking burn on heavy melee attacks, culminating in big burst damage. This artifact drops from the same mutated dungeon as Inferno and functions similarly to the now-nerfed Finisher.

4. Crescent's Wave

Crescent's Wave remains powerful for PvP, giving players a strong edge even after a recent nerf. It can now be obtained by completing major level 65+ breaches, rather than through the season pass.

5. Shrapnel

The Shrapnel artifact, formerly triggering on headshots, now triggers on crits, making it a solid pick for musket users in PvP. If you’re a musket enthusiast, this artifact is highly recommended for causing persistent bleeds.

6. Contagious Plague (New)

Contagious Plague is a new bow artifact that triggers a vortex on direct poison shot hits, inflicting a potent poison cloud and pulling in enemies. This artifact is obtained by defeating Udu, a level 75 boss in Night Haven.

7. Incinerating Hatchet (New)

Incinerating Hatchet is another new artifact from the Season 10 pass, offering a unique combustion effect on ranged hatchet attacks. After stacking three combustibles, your next ranged hit triggers a large explosion, dealing massive AoE damage.

8. Finisher

Finisher is described as the most broken artifact for PvE (S+) and still S tier for PvP. Its unique effect grants 15% extra damage to bleeding targets and reduces flourish cooldowns. It also features strong weapon perks and is found by killing mammoths in Allesian Wild.

9. Venom

Venom provides heavy melee attacks that inflict poison, with perks like trenchant crits and strikes. It’s a very strong backup to Serenity, earning an A tier across both PvE and PvP. You’ll need to go to Reek for the arena to obtain this weapon.

10. Sin

Sin extends debuff durations and deals extra damage per debuff stack, with perks like King Dragon and refreshing move. Its consistent DPS output makes it A tier, though there are stronger options like Serenity and Finisher. You’ll find Sin in Russell Stands by climbing the tower.

Best Artifact Armor (Chest, Gloves, Boots, Pants) in NW Season 10

1. Old Crown

Old Crown is emerging as the next best-in-slot artifact for PvE DPS. The key advantage is the ability to slot three gems, enabling you to fully customize your resistances for each dungeon or mutation. For example, fire gems are ideal for fire-based mutations. Old Crown ensures extra survivability and is acquired from the PvP artifact track.

2. Nimble Cloak

Nimble cloak is excellent medium chestwear for healers, providing an 8% maximum cooldown reduction, which is rare and highly sought after. Healers should target this artifact from the PvP track, as cooldown reduction is more limited in Season 10.

3. Lifetaker

Lifetaker is now a must-have for musket builds in both PvE and PvP. With updated scaling, this artifact pairs exceptionally with musket, especially when combined with shooter stance buffs. Lifetaker drops from the Elise in Wilds area after defeating a high-HP boss.

4. The Unmoved

The Unmoved heavy footwear is looking very promising for Season 10, as it prevents displacement and CC. With new crowd control effects like the bow’s gravity well entering the meta, Unmoved provides immunity to being pulled or knocked around, making it ideal for both offensive and defensive builds. This artifact is available from the PvP artifact track.

5. Creed Boots

Creed Boots are farmable from elite named enemies in EM Scale Reach. These boots are game-changing if you have strong aim for headshots or can consistently land backstabs. With Creed Boots, you’ll be dealing devastating burst damage, making them a must for DPS builds.

6. Void Darkplate

Void Dark Plate, acquired from Black Barnacles mutation, is a must-have for tanks due to its strong defensive perks and healing boosts under 50% HP.

7. Deep Freeze

Deep Freeze increases damage to chilled, frozen, or rooted enemies by 15%. It’s rated S to A tier  or both PvP and PvE and can be picked up in Glacial T, Great Cleave, during mutation.

8. Plagueherald

This artifact consistently inflicts disease on the enemy, which is devastating for healers in PvP. It receives an S tier for PvP and D tier for PvE since healing debuffs matter less in most dungeons. Plague Herald is found by opening race rewards.

9. Tumbler Feetwraps

This artifact is considered S++ tier for PvP in medium builds, providing empower, fortify, and healing on dodge. It’s an incredibly strong pick for survivability and burst alike. For PvE, it’s less favored. Tumblers Feet Wraps drop from OPR caches.

10. Feather Weight

Feather Weight allows for hybrid armor setups by making armor weightless. It’s S tier for PvP and A tier for PvE, especially for defensive builds. Find it in Alian Wilds by hunting the bird on the mountain.

Best Artifact Jewelry (Amulets, Rings, Earrings)

1. Endless Thirst

Endless Thirst is a standout earring artifact for survivability. The Healing Heart Rune perk grants 30% additional healing for over 3 seconds when you activate your ultimate, and with enough stacking, this can be pushed even higher. This artifact offers not just regeneration, but also amplifies the effect of your heart rune, making it incredibly valuable. Endless Thirst is found in the Savage Divide dungeon in Alisium Wilds, but only when mutated.

2. Blooddrinker

Blooddrinker is a fun and powerful artifact for tanks and solo players, granting 25% life steal with a minor damage reduction. It now has a reduced penalty and is ideal for sustain builds, especially in mutated content. This artifact drops from Star Stone mutations, so if you see this dungeon with a circle indicator, prioritize it even if you’re not usually a tank or healer.

New World Aeternum Perk Tier List for Season 10 (PvE & PvP)

Season 10 of New World introduces a fresh batch of perks, adjustments to old favorites, and new ways to strengthen your build through charms and crafted gear.

Some perks coming in season 10 are described as completely broken, with close quarters at the top of the list. Light and heavy attacks with ranged weapons within 10 meters deal 20% more damage, but you also receive 5% increased attacker base damage. This is expected to be one of the most used infixes in the entire game, especially for weapons like blunderbuss, bow, and musket.

Another interesting option is revive. Casting life embrace on a down player will revive them, requiring 300 focus and a 45-second cooldown. This is extremely powerful for PvE dungeons, where infinite revives can make raids much easier.

Poisoned affinity, which boosts damage against poisoned enemies, and cleansing block, which removes a debuff on block, are also highlighted. For great sword players, cleansing block is described as a dream perk, since blocking is already a core part of the playstyle.

Here’s a detailed armor, weapons, jewelry perks tier list for PvE and PvE.

New World Aeternum Charm Tier List for Season 10 (PvE & PvP)

Choosing the right charms in Season 10 of New World is one of the most effective ways to maximize your build's potential, whether you're focused on DPS, tanking, or healing. Below you'll find the best charm options for both offensive and defensive slots, along with a clear ranking so you know which ones to prioritize for your gear.

Offensive Charms Tier List

  • Harnessing Charms (S Tier)
These provide a 3% boost to your main damage type (such as slash or thrust). If your build focuses on a single damage type, this charm is a must-have for raw output.

  • Enchanted (S Tier)
Increases the damage of your light and heavy attacks. This is ideal for builds that rely on these attacks, especially if your weapon doesn’t stick to one damage type.

  • Vicious (S Tier)
Grants a flat 3% critical hit damage increase. For both PvE and PvP, this is a top option, as critical hits happen frequently.

  • Keenly Empowered (Empower Charm) (S Tier)
Provides 10-13% empower for 5 seconds on a critical hit. This is easy to activate and gives a huge temporary boost to your damage.

  • Keen (A Tier)
Raises your critical hit chance, making it useful for crit-focused builds.

  • Leeching (A Tier)
Offers life-steal, giving you better sustain in both solo and group play.

  • Skill Charms (A Tier)
Increase the power of specific weapon abilities. These are best for builds that rely on particular skills, such as Berserk on hatchet.

  • Critical Infliction (B Tier)
Provides a 6% increased crit chance against targets with your damage-over-time effects. This is a solid choice for DOT-heavy builds.

Defensive Charms Tier List

  • Enchanted Ward (S Tier)
Reduces all incoming damage, which is especially valuable since most threats use light and heavy attacks.

  • Keely Fortify (S Tier)
Gives 20% fortify for 5 seconds on crit. This perk offers exceptional survivability in all types of content.

  • Divines (S Tier)
Boosts all healing received by 5.5%. Stacking this can make you extremely tough to bring down, especially in group content.

  • Wellness Charm (A Tier)
Increases your max HP. This is a solid baseline option, though others provide more specialized benefits.

  • Prolonged Favor (A Tier)
Particularly strong in PvP, this charm can be game-changing when you need extra resilience.
