What to do once you reach the max level in WoW Dragonflight? Let's tell you the most important things you should focus on when you hit level 70 in the new expansion of World of Warcraft!

WoW Dragonflight Level 70 PvP & PvE Gearing Guide - Top 7 Things To Do At Level 70

The expansion of WoW Dragonflight is finally here with many already having ventured forth into the Dragon Isles, questing, exploring, and growing stronger with every level. Adventuring through a Wide Open world on the backs of the Drakes. Some have even finished their journey and reached level 70, but this is where one story ends and the end game begins. Then what should you focus on during the first few weeks of the WoW Dragonflight in order to stay competitive once you reach the maximum 70 level? So in this guide, we put together a list of things that you could be doing when you finish leveling through the WoW Dragonflight, covering the most important steps that will get you ready for end-game content, as well as other activities that are more or less optional but we still highly recommended for you to explore.

No. 1 - Do Weekly Quest To Collect Renown

First of all, let's go over the activities that you should prioritize starting with a weekly renowned objectives. Every reset you'll get a week quest to help you assist the major factions of the Dragon Isles. In Dragonflight, Renown will not be linked to player power like it was in Shadowlands which makes it less mandatory, but instead it'll be used mostly to help you keep track of the major Dragonflight factions. Renown however will still be important if you're looking to progress through the main story chapters after getting to level 17. Renown also helps you open up more open world activities through the major dragonflight factions which allows for early gearing opportunities.

No. 2 - Early PvE & PvP Gearing Methods

During the first few weeks of Dragonflight, you should focus on gearing your character. Currently there are 4 methods of improving your overall item level:

1. Dungeon Gearing Content - Mythic dungeons currently drops some of the highest quality armor and weapons with an item level of 372. Heroic dungeons are easily accessible to somewhat geared characters and reward items of 359 item level. Normal dungeons are the most accessible rewarding items of level 346.

2. PVP Gearing Content - Currently we have two ways of getting your characters for player versus player combat. First, we have honor gear which you earned by participating in casual PVP like Battlegrounds, Skirmishes, and Brawls. This gear is great for PVP combat as it scales up within PVP scenarios but it doesn't work nearly as well at high-end dungeons unless you're willing to invest more honor points in ranking up these items. Keep in mind however that ranking up honor gear is not the same as it was in the Shadowlands, in Dragonflight all PVP gear will be scaled to its highest item level and will engage with enemy players ranking these items higher will allow them to be more competitive in PVE Central content, but it will not improve their standing within PVP.

3. Open World PvP Gearing Content - Besides auto gearing you can now also gear through open world PVP, participating in World PVP objectives allows you to collect bloody tokens which can be traded into unique PVP items. These World PVP items will scale just like honor gear but to an item level 408 which leaves them just a few item levels short of the honor gear.  Regardless these items still will be competitive within PVP combat and allow for an alternative route of gearing characters if you're looking for PVP.

4. Open World PvE Gearing Content - Besides Dungeons and PVP, we also have open world content full of gearing opportunities. First, we have World quests which scale with your character's item level, meaning that every day that you log into your character there should be a few upgrades for you to earn out in Dragon Isles. Then we have faction activities like Siege of Dragon Bay and keep Grand Hunts and Community Feast which all award a variety of reputation relics, crafting goods, consumables as well as gear upgrades. All of these world events will require you to attain a certain amount of Renown with major factions before you can participate in these public World activities.

No. 3 - Learn Dragonriding Skills

Now let's go over some of the more optional to-do items. First, we would suggest that you focus on advancing Dragonriding skills. When you first get your hands on a Drake Mount, your movement is quick, and responsive but nowhere near its full potential. Dragon riding can be upgraded via World exploration as you soar high into the skies, you'll notice glowing glyphs in far-off locations, reaching these glyphs grants you points towards advancing your riding skills where you can upgrade your speed and greatly enhance your maneuverability. These glyphs are account wide meaning that if you maximize your flying skills on your main, your alts gain all of the same benefits. You can advance Your Dragon riding without even having to visit a trainer which makes it super convenient when exploring the open world.

No. 4 - Level Up Your Alts

Once you finish leveling your main character, you could always spend some time leveling more alts through the Dragon Isles. When leveling old characters, the entire map of Dragon Isles will open up all side quests and World quests will scale to your current level, so you could choose to spend more time in the zones that you enjoy the most, all to also be able to benefit from a variety of account wide bonuses like advancements in Dragonriding skill, renowned rewards and even open world activities. The last expedition of Shadowlands had a lot of chores for you to manage which made managing alts a lot less desirable, Dragonflight is looking to turn all of that around which makes exploring a variety of different play style options early on and much more viable of an option.

No. 5 - Upgrade Professions for More Income

You may also want to try your hand at Dragonflight professions. Currently Crafting and Gathering professions are a great source of income, especially if you utilize the Auction House. Crafting could also be an alternative route of gearing your characters going forward, investing early into the new revamp crafting system allows you an opportunity to gear your main and alts going forward, especially since some of the gear you'll eventually be able to craft can reach the same level and quality as high-end and game items from raids and dungeons.

No. 6 - Join Dragonriding Rare To Win Rewards

If you're looking to earn more Dragon cosmetics and challenge us with flying, then we suggest you check out some of the Dragon riding races. These side activities will challenge your knowledge of the skies and test your limits in aerial traversal while rewarding you with a variety of dragon customizations as well as a Transwag and Pet Companions.

No. 7 - Join Open World Actives To Win Rewards

Besides the four major factions, we also have smaller groups that aren't as well known, but offer their own unique forms of repetition progression cosmetics and even early gear upgrades. Join the Black Dragonflight in defending dip City and sanctum from the Djaradin, while making the choice to support Wrathion or Civilian as their leader with both sides, hosting their own unique Quartermasters full of unique Rewards. Or venture South into the Cobalt Assembly and fight through the primeless forces utilizing unique magical enhancements, while earning blue dragonflight themed cosmetics and recipe rewards.

For now, that's the full list of things that you could be doing right now during the early weeks of the Dragonflight Launch, hope you enjoyed it.
