What's Tailoring Orb In PoE?

Tailoring Orb is an item in Path of Exile (PoE) that is used to modify Rare items.  Tailoring Orbs allow you to re-roll the sockets, links, colors, and quality of a Rare item while keeping its other modifiers like affixes and corruption intact. It does not modify the item level or rarity of the item. Those stay the same as before using the orb.

What Can Tailoring Orb Do?

Using a Tailoring Orb on a Rare item is essentially the same as using Orbs of Augmentation/Chromatic/Jeweller's/Blessed orbs without risking changing the item's affixes. Drop Randomly: Tailoring Orbs have a chance to drop from defeating enemies or completing content throughout the acts and endgame. Higher level content has a better chance to drop them.

Vendor Recipe: The guaranteed way to get them is by completing a vendor recipe. Trade in 1 Rare item along with 1 Orb of Augmentation, 1 Orb of Chromatic, 1 Jeweller's Orb and 1 Blessed Orb to any vendor in exchange for 1 Tailoring Orb.

Heist Contract Rewards: Completing high tier Heist blueprints and contracts from the Rogue Exiles in the Rogue Harbor has a chance to reward Tailoring Orbs. The higher the tier, the better chances.

League Content Rewards: Playing through league mechanic content like Metamorph, Breach, Delirium etc. can potentially award Tailoring Orbs upon completion or from reward chests/ POE currency drops.

Betrayal Research Unlocks: Completing Research Safehouses with the Hillock branch in Betrayal league has a chance to add Tailoring Orbs to the reward pool.

Maven's Atlas Passive Tree: There are nodes on Maven's Atlas passive tree that can slightly increase the chances of Tailoring Orbs dropping from maps.

What Is The Drop Rate of Tailoring Orbs?

-Tailoring Orbs are considered a rare/uncommon currency drop. Their base drop rate is quite low.

-The higher the area level and monster level, the better chance for them to drop. Early acts have an extremely low chance.

-Completing higher tier Heist contracts/blueprints, league mechanics, and Maven passives can boost the rate slightly.
